Why does repeatability matter? Because the gift becomes a template. The next employee to have a baby will hear about this one, so it has to be something the company can give consistently.
Should mothers and fathers get the same gift? Yes. A different gift for fathers is noticed immediately, and it is the single most common mistake in company new-parent gifting.
Whatever you give becomes the template
The first thing to get right about a company gift is what it actually is, because treating it as a present produces the wrong choice almost every time. It is a precedent. The employee who receives it will mention it - to their team, to their friends, possibly on a group chat - and the next person in that organisation to have a baby will find out what the last one got. From that point on, the company either matches it or explains why not, and both of those have consequences. So the gift has to satisfy three constraints that a personal gift does not. It has to be repeatable: something the company can buy again next quarter and the quarter after, without hunting. It has to be stable in price, because a gift that costs three times as much this year as last year is a conversation nobody wants. And it has to be exactly as appropriate for a father as for a mother, which is the constraint organisations most often fail. That last point deserves a moment. A great many companies give a warm, thoughtful gift when a woman on the team has a baby and a card when a man does, and everybody notices - including the men, who say nothing, and the women, who draw their own conclusions about what the company thinks parenthood is. The simplest fix is to pick one gift and give it to everybody, regardless of who had the baby. That also removes a second risk, which is that a gift chosen for a mother is often personal in a way a company gift should not be: anything worn on the body, anything referencing recovery, anything commenting on how somebody looks or feels. A company should not be sending that to anybody. What passes all three constraints is a gift addressed to a space, because a space needs no personal knowledge, works identically for either parent, and is simple to reorder. Three tiers, which most organisations will recognise as matching their own bands. At the entry tier, a hanging car perfume at four hundred and forty-nine to five hundred and nine rupees. It sounds modest and it is the most practically useful thing on this page: in the months after a birth, one parent - usually the father, though not always - takes over the outside half of the household, which means the paediatrician, the pharmacy at eleven at night, relatives collected from the station, the shopping, and the drive around the block at midnight with a baby who will not settle. Jasmine is four hundred and forty-nine, Lavender and Sandalwood four hundred and seventy-nine, Icy Mint four hundred and eighty-nine, Lemon four hundred and ninety-nine, Vetiver, Sea Breeze and Oud five hundred and nine. It is also completely neutral, which is exactly what a company gift should be. At the standard tier, and this is the recommendation for most organisations, a reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine to eight hundred and forty-nine rupees. Morning Freshness is seven hundred and forty-nine, Garden Bloom and Evening Calm seven hundred and ninety-nine, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew eight hundred and forty-nine. It uses its own alcohol-free reed oil drawn up rattan by capillary action, needs one minute of attention at the start and none afterwards, and runs for two or three months - which is the right property for a household with no spare capacity. It reads as substantial without being extravagant, it is obviously for the home rather than for the baby, and it is straightforward to buy repeatedly. It belongs at an entrance or in a living room. Not a nursery, and worth stating on any company page: SOSA makes no products for babies or children, and nothing in this range is intended for a nursery, a cot, a pram or a child's belongings. At the senior tier, a complete ultrasonic system: the Boond diffuser at eight hundred and ninety-nine rupees with the water-based Hotel Collection concentrate at two hundred and ninety-nine, one thousand one hundred and ninety-eight complete, three to six drops per tank. The full-size Sukoon at one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine is complete at two thousand one hundred and ninety-eight. The one rule: never give the machine alone. A device with nothing to run in it is a shopping instruction in good packaging, and from an employer it reads as a gift that somebody did not finish. The three systems do not interchange, and reed oil must never go into a machine. The Hotel Collection registers are Quiet Luxury, White Tea Serenity, Forest Suite, Old-World Glamour, Tea Garden, Warm Welcome and Lobby Bar; these are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Four operational notes that make this work in practice. First, send it rather than delivering it, and if the employee is on leave, do not attach a visit - a visit from work is the hardest kind for a household to host. Second, write the card about them and say nothing whatsoever about the return date; a gift that mentions when somebody is coming back is not a gift, it is a calendar invitation with a ribbon on it. Third, pick one product and one price and write it down somewhere, so the next person who has to do this does not have to think - that is what turns a nice gesture into a policy that survives. And fourth, if you want two tiers - one for all employees and a larger one for longer-serving staff or senior roles - define the rule by tenure or grade rather than deciding case by case, because case-by-case is how inconsistency gets noticed. Amounts, for reference: five hundred to a thousand rupees per employee is comfortable and normal, one thousand to two thousand for a more generous standard policy. Going much higher creates an expectation that is expensive to sustain and awkward to withdraw, which is the practical argument against it rather than a moral one.
Repeatable, and equal for both
Three tiers that map onto most organisations' bands. Everything is addressed to a space, works identically for either parent, and is simple to buy again.

Versailles
When somebody has a baby, the gifts arrive in a wave and almost every one of them is for the baby. Clothes the child outgrows in six weeks, toys for an age they have not reached, blankets in a cupboard that already has nine. It is all kind and it is all well meant. But two adults have just gone through something enormous, and by the end of the first month neither of them has received a single thing addressed to them.
That is the whole reason this section exists. We do not make anything for babies, and nothing we sell is meant for a nursery or for a child's things - we make fragrance for adults. What we can do is give somebody an answer when they say: everybody is buying for the baby, what do I give her, or him, or the two of them. Usually the answer is something small, consumable and completely undemanding, because a new parent has no free hands, no spare surface and no appetite for anything that needs setting up.
One honest thing. If the person you are buying for is pregnant, be careful with personal fragrance. A great many people find that what they want to be near changes during those months, and a bottle somebody cannot go near is a worse gift than nothing at all - so either choose something for their home or their car, or let them pick it themselves later. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 and tell us who the adult is and what you know about them, and we will tell you honestly if we think fragrance is the wrong call. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.
