What if the home is compartmented? Then it does not qualify at any size. A compartmented 2,500 sq ft house is several small volumes, and a set of reed diffusers serves it better than one machine for a fraction of the money.
What am I actually buying at this size? One device instead of six or eight separate sources, with nothing to fill or empty and a schedule that can build a level before people arrive. Not the coverage rating itself.
The crossover is a condition, not a number
Every size page below this one argues against the largest machine, and does so honestly. This is the page where the argument turns, so it is worth being precise about what turns it, because it is not the square footage. Two thousand five hundred square feet is roughly 232 square metres. The Vaayu is rated for up to 1,000 square metres of connected air, which is roughly 10,700 square feet. On raw arithmetic the machine is still several times larger than the house, and if capacity were the whole story it would remain the wrong purchase. Capacity is not the whole story, and the thing that actually changes at this size is architecture. Homes of 2,500 square feet and upward are the first band in which genuinely open plans become common: a living area that runs into a dining hall, a passage that is part of the same space rather than a corridor between rooms, and a stairwell that opens off it without a door. When a home is arranged that way, the ground floor is not a set of rooms, it is one large body of circulating air. And that is the condition under which a single machine does something no arrangement of bottles can match: it serves the whole of it from one point, with one fragrance to buy, one schedule to set and nothing to refill. So the test is architectural, and you can run it in ninety seconds without any equipment. Walk your ground floor at an ordinary hour of an ordinary day, changing nothing about how the house is currently set up, and count the closed doors between the living area, the dining area, the passage and the foot of the stairs. Zero closed doors means one connected volume, and the Vaayu qualifies. One closed door is a judgement call and usually means a partly open plan, where a Megh at Rs 3,499 with its 6L tank remains the sensible unit. Two or more closed doors means the home does not qualify, and it does not qualify at 2,500 square feet or at 5,000 either, because no machine crosses a closed door. A compartmented house of any size is a modest connected core plus several sealed rooms, and in that house eight or nine reed diffusers at Rs 749 to Rs 849 produce a better and more even result throughout, for a fraction of the money. We would rather sell the bottles, and we say so on every page where it applies. Now the part that most product pages leave out. If you do qualify, be clear with yourself about what the Rs 11,999 is actually buying, because it is not the coverage rating. Your home is roughly a quarter of that rating and you will never use the rest of it. What you are buying is three things. One device instead of six or eight, which matters more than it sounds: six sources means six positions to think about, six replacement dates and six chances for one of them to lapse and leave a gap. Waterless operation, which means there is nothing to fill before an evening and nothing to empty, rinse or dry the morning after, and that is the single strongest predictor of whether a fragrance routine is still running in a year. And scheduling, which lets a level be built in the half hour before people come home and then step down, rather than existing constantly whether anybody is there to perceive it or not. That combination is worth the money at this size. The rating is not. Two things that do not change at 2,500 square feet. Every room behind a closed door still needs its own passive source, and at this size that is typically six to eight reeds: each bathroom, each bedroom at the lightest level in the house, a study, and one just inside the entrance as a permanent presence that works whether or not a cycle ran. And extraction over the hob used every single time, with the kitchen door shut, still outranks every product on this page, because cooking smell is aerosolised oil that travels through a house and settles into soft furnishings in rooms far from the kitchen.
The qualifying test, then the machine
The qualifying test, then the machine. Test first, at no cost: walk the ground floor at an ordinary hour, changing nothing, and count the closed doors between the living area, dining, passage and stairwell. Zero closed doors, one large connected volume: the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 - waterless with no water tank to fill or empty, coverage up to 1,000 m², Bluetooth app and timer control - run as two short cycles anchored to arrivals plus a separate hosting profile that reverts, at a level set on a day you had just come in from outside. One closed door, a partly open plan: the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank remains the sensible unit, remembering that a tank is refilled every few days and rinsed between scents. Two or more closed doors, at this size or any size: no machine, because none crosses a closed door - eight or nine reed diffusers instead, which serve that house better for a fraction of the money. Behind every closed door regardless of the answer, typically six to eight bottles at this size: a reed in each bathroom, one in each bedroom at the lightest level in the house and from a source the occupant can move or cap, one in a study, and one just inside the entrance as a permanent presence that works whether or not a cycle ran - Morning Freshness at Rs 749, Garden Bloom at Rs 799, Evening Calm at Rs 799, Fresh Brew at Rs 849, Mountain Breeze at Rs 849, three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml, or the SOSA Boond at Rs 799 at the door. Fragrance for machines: Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, at three to six drops per tank, rinsing between scents. This is a water-based fragrance for ultrasonic diffusers and is not reed diffuser oil; the two are not interchangeable and reed oil can damage a diffuser. Outranking every product here: extraction over the hob used every single time with the kitchen door shut. Never scented: the kitchen at any time, the dining area during a meal, children's rooms, and covered terraces and balconies. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.

Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
