There is less capacity for additional evaporation, which means a diffuser that is calibrated for moderate humidity will throw weakly — or the fragrance molecules will hang low and dense rather than dispersing through the room.

Alcohol-base diffusers behave erratically in Mumbai conditions. In an AC room, the air cycles through the unit continuously, which distributes fragrance molecules throughout the space more evenly than natural convection. A diffuser placed on a bedside table or dresser at body height will have its scent lifted and spread by the AC's air return.
