This is the one entry on the list where the product question comes second, because a large number of businesses simply cannot send a doctor a gift at all.
Quick answers — read this first
Can I send a Diwali gift to a doctor client? It depends entirely on who you are. Pharmaceutical, medical device and allied healthcare companies cannot give gifts to healthcare professionals under the applicable marketing and professional conduct codes. Other businesses face fewer restrictions but doctors remain bound by their own professional conduct regulations.
What are the rules on gifting doctors in India? The Uniform Code for Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices and the medical profession's own conduct regulations restrict gifts from pharmaceutical, medical device and allied healthcare companies to registered medical practitioners. This is general information rather than legal advice.
If a gift is permitted, what suits a doctor? Something modest and domestic: a 50ml reed diffuser at ₹749, or a boxed Attar Trio at ₹1,055. Nothing clinical and nothing that touches their practice.
The short answer
Short answer: Check first. Pharma, device and allied healthcare companies cannot. Others should still keep it modest.
The pick: first check whether the rules permit a gift at all; if they do, a modest reed diffuser at ₹749 or a boxed attar set at ₹1,055.
Bulk: quantities, lead times and pricing on WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 - confirm before you commit to a delivery date.
Client gifting at Diwali is a list problem before it is a taste problem. One family of fragrance products at three price tiers lets a hundred clients be gifted well without a hundred separate decisions, and keeps the tiering legible rather than awkward.
Before choosing anything, establish whether a gift is permitted, because for a large category of businesses it is not. The rule that catches most people. The Uniform Code for Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices, and the medical profession's own conduct regulations, restrict gifts from pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies and allied healthcare businesses to registered medical practitioners. If your business sits in any of those categories, the answer is simply that you do not send a gift, and no amount of modesty in the choice changes that. This is general information rather than legal advice, and your compliance team decides. If you are not in those categories, a doctor who is your client in some other capacity, an architect's client, a bank's client, a car dealership's customer, the restrictions are narrower, but the doctor is still bound by their own professional conduct obligations and may well decline anything substantial. Keep it modest and domestic.A 50ml reed diffuser at ₹749 to ₹849. For their home, not their clinic. No plug, no flame, six to ten weeks. A boxed Attar Trio at ₹1,055, alcohol-free, if you know them personally. What to avoid entirely.Anything for the clinic or consulting room, which converts a personal courtesy into something that touches their practice. Anything that could be characterised as promotional. And anything at all if there is any doubt about the code that applies to you.One practical note on clinical spaces generally: SOSA does not recommend scenting treatment areas, and fragrance-free options should be available rather than requested in any healthcare setting. SOSA makes no claim that a gift affects a professional relationship, a decision, a referral or the volume of work that follows. Festive volume is planned rather than picked off a shelf, so quantities, pricing and lead times need a conversation before you commit to a delivery date. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531. One line: check the code that applies to your business first. For pharma and device companies, the answer is no.
If permitted, keep it domestic: a 50ml reed diffuser at ₹749.
Three checks, in order, and the first one ends the question for many businesses.
01
Which code applies to you
Check before anything else
Pharmaceutical, medical device and allied healthcare companies cannot give gifts to healthcare professionals under the applicable marketing and professional conduct codes. If that is you, there is no compliant version of this gift. General information rather than legal advice; your compliance team decides.
Tip: If that is your sector, there is no compliant version of this gift.
02
The doctor's own obligations
Apply regardless of you
A registered medical practitioner is bound by professional conduct regulations whatever business the gift comes from, and many decline anything beyond a token. Modest is not just polite here, it is what makes acceptance possible.
03
Home, never the clinic
Keep it away from practice
A gift for a consulting room or waiting area touches their professional practice, which is exactly the territory the rules are concerned with. A home fragrance is a personal courtesy and stays clearly outside it.
Tip: A gift for the consulting room touches their practice. Keep it home.
The SOSA principle
The rules question comes before the product question.
And for a lot of businesses it ends the conversation.
If a gift is appropriate
If a gift is appropriate, a clean calm register for a home is the right choice, and nothing should be suggested for a clinical space.
No amount of modesty in the choice makes a prohibited gift permissible.

The SOSA client gifting range
Everything below is alcohol-free and handmade in India. The volume tier is the 12ml car perfume, sold in two forms at the same price: a hanging version with a mild scent throw and a spray with a stronger one. The premium tier is attars and reed diffusers, both of which are used daily and then finished. The VIP tier is the scent machines. Ultrasonic diffusers need water and the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance, which is not reed diffuser oil and is not interchangeable with it. Quantities, lead times and bulk pricing are confirmed on WhatsApp before you commit to a date, because festive volumes are planned rather than picked off a shelf. A note from Sonal
Every October I watch the same thing happen. A business with two hundred clients buys two hundred identical boxes of dry fruit, and every one of those clients receives eleven other boxes of dry fruit in the same fortnight. The gift is not bad. It is simply invisible, because it arrived alongside eleven of itself.
Fragrance works differently for one plain reason: almost nobody else sends it. A hanging car perfume in a client's car is noticed every morning for weeks, and it is the only thing in the pile that is still being used in December. That is the whole argument, and it does not require me to claim anything about loyalty or revenue, which I would not.
Two honest notes. Scent is personal, so for a long client list choose clean and widely liked registers rather than distinctive ones, and keep the distinctive choices for the handful of people you actually know. And please check who you are gifting - government officials, doctors and many large companies sit under rules that decide this before taste does. A part of every order supports girl-child education.
