The honest answer on oud
Oud is asked for more than almost any luxury note, and I understand the pull - it is dark, resinous and unmistakably expensive, the signature of the grandest Middle Eastern hotels. I make oud and I love it. But I will not pretend it is in the diffuser when it is not. SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection does not include a dedicated oud fragrance. The seven scents were composed around hotel-inspired styles - white tea, cedar, amber, jasmine, sandalwood, citrus - and true agarwood oud is not one of them.
So what would I diffuse for someone chasing that opulent depth? Old-World Glamour, my St. Regis-inspired amber, violet and woods, is the closest thing I make. It is the plushest, deepest, most evening-luxury scent in the collection - the amber and woods give a room that rich, settled, expensive feeling that oud lovers are usually after. It is not oud, and I will not call it that, but it scratches the same itch: a warm, dark, grown-up luxury in the air.
If you want true agarwood oud, I will not fake it in a water tank. If you want the deep, plush, evening luxury oud gives, Old-World Glamour is the nearest scent I diffuse.
Where SOSA does offer real oud
Here is the honest good news: SOSA absolutely makes oud - just not as a water-based diffuser fragrance. If the true oud note is what you want, we offer it in the formats that carry it best. There is a ceramic Oud candle, whose warm burn releases that rich, resinous depth into a room, and an Oud wax melt for a flame-free way to fill the space with the same note. Those are where real oud lives at SOSA; the ultrasonic diffuser simply is not built for it.

"I will just add oud attar or oud oil to the diffuser." Please do not. Oud oils are among the thickest, most resinous materials there are, and they will clog the ultrasonic misting plate and can damage the unit. For real oud use the SOSA Oud candle or wax melt; for the diffuser, use the water-based fragrance and reach for Old-World Glamour."
I know some people will want to hear "yes, oud in the diffuser." Honesty matters more to me than that sale. Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight.
