Coverage is not about the floor you can see; it is about the air you cannot. A diffuser fills a volume, and the machine that fills the biggest volume from one source is the one that turns a house into a single, scented whole.
Quick answers — read this first
Largest coverage? The waterless SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) — up to ~1000m³, a whole home from one source.

Single rooms? A Sukoon (₹1,799) for a living room, a Megh (₹3,499) for a larger one.

How to size? By air volume — floor area times ceiling height. Browse the home scenting range.
The short answer
Short answer: The waterless Vaayu covers the largest area of any home system — up to about 1000 cubic metres from a single unit.
The pick: The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for whole-home reach; a Sukoon (₹1,799) or Megh (₹3,499) per room.
Straight answer
Which diffuser covers the largest area?
1. The Vaayu (₹11,999) covers the most. Up to ~1000m³ — a whole flat, villa or duplex from one machine.

2. Measure air volume, not floor area. Floor area times ceiling height; scent fills a space, not a plan.

3. Ultrasonic units cover a room each. A Sukoon (₹1,799) for a living room, a Megh (₹3,499) for a larger area.

4. A big tank is not big coverage. Tank size sets refill frequency, not reach.

5. Very large villa needing ducts? HVAC systems, the Aangan from ₹25,999 — but most homes never need them.

And a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: The Vaayu (₹11,999) covers the largest area — up to ~1000m³; ultrasonic units like the Sukoon (₹1,799) cover a room each. Scents from ₹299.

The coverage leader
SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999
Waterless cold-air nebulising rated to ~1000m³, app + 1/4/8/24h timer, under 38dB. One source, a whole home of even scent.

Coverage is volume, not floor area

The single most common sizing error is to read a floor plan and stop there. Two living rooms of identical square footage can hold wildly different amounts of air: one has a standard ceiling and a door that stays shut; the other soars to a double height and opens onto the dining space and the stairs. Scent does not coat a floor — it fills a volume. So the honest number is cubic metres: floor area multiplied by ceiling height, then a mental discount for every wide opening through which air, and therefore fragrance, drifts away.

Get this right and everything else follows. A machine sized to the volume sits at a gentle setting and holds the space without strain; a machine that is too small races at full output, burns through fragrance, and still leaves the far end of the room smelling of nothing. Buy for the volume, run in the middle, and you use less scent, not more. When the volume in question is a whole connected home, one unit is rated to reach it: the Vaayu, at up to about 1000 cubic metres.

1
The number that matters
Cubic metres, then discount for openings
Floor area times ceiling height gives the raw volume. Subtract confidence for every wide doorway, open stair or archway. An enclosed 25m² room at standard height is a small job; the same footprint opening onto a stairwell is not.
Rule of thumb: if you can see into two other spaces from where you stand, you are scenting all three — size up.
2
Reach, not tank
Coverage and capacity are different things
The Megh's 6-litre tank means fewer refills, not more reach — it still covers one large room. The Vaayu's smaller tank covers far more air, because it nebulises and projects pure oil rather than misting water locally.

The SOSA principle
Buy for your home's largest honest volume, then run it gently.
An oversized machine at a low setting always beats an undersized one at full tilt — quieter, more even, and kinder to your refills.

How the Vaayu reaches up to ~1000m³

The reason one Vaayu can do a whole home comes down to format. An ultrasonic diffuser makes a cool, damp mist that stays fairly local — wonderful for a single room, but it settles before it travels far. The Vaayu instead nebulises pure fragrance oil into a dry, ultra-fine cold-air cloud with no water weighing it down. That lighter, drier output rides the home's own air currents — through doorways, along corridors, up a stairwell — which is how a single unit carries one signature to rooms it is not standing in.

This is also why it is the right tool for humid coastal homes running scent all day: no water means no added moisture, and the coverage does not collapse in damp air. Ultrasonic and waterless are not interchangeable — one mists a room, the other broadcasts through a home — so match the format to the size of the job. For a whole flat, villa or duplex, the waterless machine is the one built to reach.

A mist fills the room it is in. A cold-air cloud travels to the rooms it is not.

Placing a diffuser for maximum reach

Even the largest-coverage machine can be hobbled by a bad spot, so placement is part of coverage. Put the Vaayu where air already moves — near a hallway, a stair, or the mouth of an open-plan space — rather than tucked into a dead corner behind furniture. Give the output a clear path into the rest of the home, keep it off the floor so the cloud can disperse, and let interior doors sit open during its scheduled runs so the signature can travel. A machine rated to 1000 cubic metres still needs a route to those metres.

For the rare home too large or too compartmentalised for a single unit — a sprawling villa with sealed wings — SOSA makes ducted HVAC systems, the Aangan from ₹25,999, that scent through the air handling itself. But that is a specialist case. The overwhelming majority of homes are covered, corner to corner, by one well-placed Vaayu on a timer.

The SOSA home edit

One ladder of systems, from a single room to a whole home. Match the rung to the volume of air you actually want scented.

Sukoon + Hotel Collection Living room, main floor, open-plan hub Ultrasonic mist that holds one room beautifully ₹1,799 + ₹299
Megh Large living area, long unattended runs 6L tank, water-based, fewer refills between top-ups ₹3,499
SOSA Vaayu ★ Whole home, villa or duplex — one signature Waterless, app + timer, up to ~1000m³, under 38dB ₹11,999
Hotel Collection refills Keeping any system running The real running cost, low and predictable from ₹999
Honest notes for your home: the effect of scent on mood and memory is real but moderate — a signature makes a clean, aired home feel finished, but it never substitutes for opening the windows first. Ultrasonic diffusers (Boond, Sukoon, Megh) add a little humidity and run water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; the Vaayu is waterless, nebulising pure oil in cold air — the two are not interchangeable, and waterless is the wiser choice for long daily runs in humid coastal cities. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. A note from Sonal

When someone tells me their diffuser “does not reach,” nine times in ten the machine is fine and the expectation is wrong. They bought a single-room unit and asked it to scent a whole floor. It was never going to.

Coverage is a volume problem, and volume is unforgiving. That is why I give people one number to hold onto: the Vaayu reaches up to about a thousand cubic metres, which is most whole homes, from one source, waterless, on a timer.

Size honestly, place it where the air moves, and let it run gently. Your home smells like itself in every room; a girl gets a classroom through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Which home diffuser covers the largest area?
Among home units, the waterless SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 covers the largest area — up to about 1000 cubic metres, enough for a whole flat, villa or duplex from a single source. Ultrasonic diffusers cover a room each: a Sukoon at ₹1,799 for a living room, a Megh at ₹3,499 for a larger area, but none match the Vaayu's reach.
How big an area does the SOSA Vaayu cover?
The Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated for up to roughly 1000 cubic metres. Because coverage is about air volume, not floor area, that translates to most whole homes — a large flat, a villa or a two-floor duplex — as long as air can move between the spaces. Its cold-air output travels on the home's own airflow to reach adjoining rooms.
Should I measure floor area or air volume for coverage?
Air volume — floor area multiplied by ceiling height — because scent fills a space, not a floor. A double-height living room holds far more air than its square footage suggests. Size to cubic metres: a Sukoon at ₹1,799 for a single room, the Vaayu at ₹11,999 for up to about 1000 cubic metres of connected home.
Can one diffuser really cover a whole villa?
One waterless Vaayu at ₹11,999 can carry a single signature across a whole villa or duplex, provided doors and airflow let the scent travel; place it centrally, near where air moves between floors or rooms. For a very large villa that needs ducted coverage, SOSA also makes HVAC systems, the Aangan from ₹25,999, but most homes never need them.
Does a bigger tank mean bigger coverage?
No — tank size affects how long between refills, not how far the scent reaches. The Megh at ₹3,499 has a large 6-litre tank but still covers one large room, while the Vaayu at ₹11,999 has a smaller 400ml tank yet reaches up to about 1000 cubic metres because it nebulises and projects pure oil rather than misting water locally.
