There are three good answers inside ₹1,500 and one question worth asking before you pick any of them. The answers: a 130ML reed diffuser from ₹1,249, a 12ML attar from ₹1,149, or the Day and Night reed duo at ₹1,498. The question: are you here because ₹1,500 is what the occasion calls for, or because ₹1,500 is what feeling bad calls for? Those produce different purchases, and only one of them lands well.
Quick answers — read this first
What is a good make-up gift under ₹1,500? A 130ML reed diffuser from ₹1,249, which lasts 14 to 18 weeks, or the Day and Night duo at ₹1,498 for two rooms.

Is the 50ML at ₹749 still better? For the shape of the gesture, yes, and this page says so. The 130ML is the right choice when the room is large, not when you want to spend more. It leaves ₹251 of a ₹1,500 budget unspent and that is fine.

What about a personal fragrance? A 12ML Adaa attar at ₹1,149 if the relationship is close and current and the apology has already happened in words. Otherwise the gift for a room is the safer one.
The short answer
Short answer: a 130ML reed diffuser at ₹1,249 if the room is a kitchen, a living room or open-plan; a Day and Night duo at ₹1,498 if two rooms matter; a 12ML attar at ₹1,149 if they wear fragrance.
The honest note: the 50ML reed at ₹749 is still the better-shaped apology gift, and it leaves ₹751 of this budget unspent. Size the gift to the room and the occasion, never to the ceiling.
On the duo: ₹1,498 for two 50ML bottles, Malabar lemon and mint plus lavender and chamomile. Those two bought separately are ₹749 and ₹799, which is ₹1,548, so the duo is ₹50 less.
Straight answer
What is worth buying as a make-up gift under Rs 1,500, and do I have to spend it all?
1. A 130ML reed, if the room is big enough to need one. Morning Freshness 130ML at ₹1,249 lasts 14 to 18 weeks and suits a kitchen, a living room or an open-plan space. Garden Bloom and Evening Calm are ₹1,299, Fresh Brew and Mountain Breeze ₹1,349.

2. The Day and Night duo, if two rooms matter. ₹1,498 for two 50ML bottles: Malabar lemon and mint, and lavender and chamomile. It fits the ceiling with ₹2 to spare, and it is ₹50 less than the same two bottles bought separately.

3. A 12ML attar, if they wear fragrance and the relationship is close. Adaa 12ML at ₹1,149, bergamot, cardamom and jasmine sambac. Ameeri is ₹1,165, Mastani ₹1,179, Nawaab ₹1,199. Buy adjacent to what they already wear rather than better than it.

4. And no, you do not have to spend it all. The 50ML reed at ₹749 remains the best-shaped apology gift in the range, and it leaves ₹751 of a ₹1,500 budget unspent. That is not a gap to fill. It is just a budget that was larger than the occasion needed.

5. Size it to the room, not to the guilt. The only honest reason to go from 50ML to 130ML is that the room is bigger than about 150 sq ft. A larger bottle for a small room is a worse gift, not a more generous one, and it costs ₹500 more.

And the apology itself, in words, still comes first and still comes free. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali, India's largest girl-education initiative.
Short version: big room, the 130ML at ₹1,249. Two rooms, the duo at ₹1,498. They wear fragrance and you are close, the 12ML attar at ₹1,149. Small room, the ₹749 50ML, and keep the rest.
Morning Freshness Reed Diffuser, 130ML
The size decision, made on the room
Morning Freshness Reed Diffuser, 130ML ₹1,249 for 130ML, ₹749 for 50ML
Malabar lemon and mint, the most neutral scent SOSA blends. The 130ML lasts 14 to 18 weeks and suits kitchens, living rooms and open-plan spaces; the 50ML lasts 6 to 8 weeks and suits a bathroom, bedroom or home office up to about 150 sq ft. Alcohol-free and flame-free, no power and no water, six fibre reeds per bottle, and three reeds is the published softer setting on this one. Choose the size on the room, not on the budget.

The three answers inside ₹1,500

Laid out with the real numbers. The 130ML reeds: Morning Freshness ₹1,249, Garden Bloom ₹1,299, Evening Calm ₹1,299, Fresh Brew ₹1,349, Mountain Breeze ₹1,349. The 12ML attars: Adaa ₹1,149, Ameeri ₹1,165, Mastani ₹1,179, Nawaab ₹1,199. And the Day and Night reed duo, ₹1,498 for two 50ML bottles. Everything in that list fits, the tightest of them with ₹2 to spare.

1
Room size
130ML is a room decision, not a generosity decision
SOSA publishes one size rule and it is worth following exactly: 50ML for bathrooms, bedrooms and home offices up to about 150 sq ft, 130ML for kitchens, living rooms and open-plan spaces above that. A 130ML in a small bathroom is not a better present, it is a stronger one than the room wants. If the room they control is small, buy the 50ML at ₹749 and keep the ₹751.
Duration, published: 50ML lasts 6 to 8 weeks, 130ML lasts 14 to 18 weeks. Not three months for the 50ML, whatever else you may read.
2
Two rooms
The duo is the one honest reason to spend more here
If there are genuinely two spaces in play, a bedroom and a living room say, then the Day and Night duo at ₹1,498 does something a single bottle cannot. It is two 50ML bottles: Malabar lemon and mint, and lavender and chamomile. That is a real reason for a larger number, which is exactly the kind of reason this cluster keeps asking you for.
Bought separately those two bottles are ₹749 and ₹799, so ₹1,548. The duo is ₹1,498, which is ₹50 less.
3
Restraint
The scent choice does not change with the budget
Moving up a band is not permission to move up in assertiveness. Morning Freshness is still the most neutral thing on the shelf at 130ML, and Fresh Brew is still the most polarising at ₹1,349. Among the attars, Adaa at ₹1,149 is still the lightest and Nawaab at ₹1,199 is still white oud and saffron. An apology gift does not become more suitable by becoming louder.

The question to ask before you pick one

Here is the thing nobody says out loud about shopping after a mistake: you are not simply choosing a number, you are choosing one while feeling bad, and feeling bad inflates a number with great reliability. It is the most common error in this whole category. The right size for an apology gift is set by the occasion and by the relationship, and by nothing else. Not by how badly you feel. Not by how badly you think you behaved.

And a bigger number makes an apology gift worse, not better. An expensive gift given after a mistake is read accurately, and what it says is unflattering: it looks like a price has been put on not discussing the thing. It also hands the recipient a job they never asked for, which is deciding whether they have just been paid off, and whether accepting it means the matter is now closed. A large gift transfers your discomfort to them, which is the exact opposite of what you are trying to do.

So the question is simple and slightly uncomfortable. Why ₹1,500? If the answer is that they have a large living room and a 130ML suits it, that is a reason and you should buy it. If the answer is that they have a bedroom and a ₹749 bottle would be right but ₹1,500 felt more like an apology, that is not a reason, it is a feeling wearing a reason's coat. If you cannot say why a particular number is right, it is too high.

The idea worth keeping
Going up a band should be caused by something about their room or their habits, never by something about your conscience.
A 130ML for a big kitchen is a good decision. The same bottle for a small bathroom is the same money spent worse.

The duo, and the arithmetic of it

The Day and Night duo is ₹1,498 for two 50ML bottles, Morning Freshness and Evening Calm. Those two bottles bought on their own are ₹749 and ₹799, which totals ₹1,548, so the duo saves you ₹50. The 130ML version of the same pair is ₹2,498 and belongs to a higher band. Evening Calm is lavender and chamomile: that is what is in the bottle, and nothing more is claimed about it here or anywhere else on this site.

Sized to the room, not to the ceiling
A bigger bottle is an answer to a bigger room. It is not an answer to a bigger mistake.

When a personal fragrance is the right call

A 12ML attar at ₹1,149 is a genuinely good gift and it has one condition attached: the relationship should be close and current, and the apology should already have happened in words. A fragrance worn on the body is a gesture aimed at a person, and somebody who is still upset may not want a gesture aimed at them yet. Where you are not sure, the gift for a room asks less and risks less.

If you do go for the attar, buy adjacent to what they already wear rather than better than it. An apology is not the moment to try to upgrade somebody's taste. Adaa is the safest starting point because bergamot, cardamom and jasmine sambac sit close to the skin and ask very little of a room.

One product deliberately left out: the attar Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 fits this band and is the wrong gift for this occasion, because choosing is work and an apology is the one time you should have done the deciding yourself. It is an excellent present on almost any other day.

One practical filter sorts a catalogue faster than any price list: somebody who is upset has less patience than usual for anything that requires effort. Which is why an ultrasonic diffuser is a poor apology gift at any price, whether that is Boond at ₹899, Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹5,999. It needs a plug point, it needs water, and it needs fragrance bought separately. That is three jobs handed to somebody who is not in the mood for jobs.

The SOSA edit under ₹1,500

SOSA makes alcohol-free attars as roll-on oils, 15g solid body perfume balms, reed diffusers and car fragrance. There is no alcohol spray eau de parfum and no room spray in the range. A reed diffuser is the best-shaped apology gift in the SOSA range, and the reason is mechanical rather than sentimental: no flame, no power, no water, no assembly and no decision. Six fibre reeds go into the bottle, the bottle goes on a shelf, and that is the entire operation. A 50ML lasts 6 to 8 weeks and suits a bathroom, bedroom or home office up to about 150 sq ft; a 130ML lasts 14 to 18 weeks and suits kitchens, living rooms and open-plan spaces above that. It is also for a room rather than for a body, which matters when somebody may not yet want a gesture aimed at them personally.

The SOSA apology edit
Under Rs 1,500, sorted by what would justify the number
Gift What it is The reason that justifies it Price
Morning Freshness reed diffuser Malabar lemon and mint, 50ML or 130ML, six fibre reeds per bottle The 130ML because the room is above about 150 sq ft. The 50ML because it is not, and it costs less ₹749 to ₹1,249
Day and Night reed duo Two 50ML bottles: Malabar lemon and mint, plus lavender and chamomile Because there are genuinely two rooms in play, which is a real reason for a larger number ₹1,498
Adaa attar, 12ML Bergamot, cardamom and jasmine sambac. Alcohol-free roll-on oil Because they wear fragrance daily, the relationship is close and current, and the words have happened ₹1,149
Honest notes: nothing on this page is offered as a way to obtain forgiveness, to change how anybody feels or to end a disagreement, because a gift does none of those things. The person receiving it decides what it means, including that it means very little, and they are entitled to be upset for exactly as long as they are upset. Their feelings are not a problem for a purchase to solve. SOSA makes alcohol-free attars as roll-on oils, 15g solid body perfume balms, reed diffusers and car fragrance. There is no alcohol spray eau de parfum and no room spray in the range. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali, India's largest girl-education initiative. Evening Calm is a product name and a lavender and chamomile scent. It is not a claim about anybody's state of mind, and nothing SOSA sells is sold as doing anything to how a person feels.

A note from Sonal

The most common mistake I see at this budget is somebody buying a 130ML for a small bedroom. It is not a disaster, it is just ₹500 spent on a bottle that is stronger than the room wants. Buy the size the room asks for. That is a sentence about interior scent and it happens to be a sentence about apologies too.

The duo at ₹1,498 is the one thing here I will actively suggest going up for, and only when there really are two rooms. Two bottles for two spaces is a reason. Two bottles because one felt insufficient is not, and the person receiving them will feel the difference without being able to name it.

And I will say the unhelpful thing again, because it stays true: the best apology gift I make is still the ₹749 one. If you spend less than your ceiling here, you have not cut a corner. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali, India's largest girl-education initiative.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good make-up gift under Rs 1,500?
A 130ML reed diffuser from Rs 1,249 if the room is a kitchen, a living room or open-plan; the Day and Night reed duo at Rs 1,498 if two rooms are in play; or a 12ML attar from Rs 1,149 if they wear fragrance and the relationship is close and current. If the room is small, the Rs 749 50ML reed is the better-shaped gift.
Should I buy the 130ML or the 50ML reed diffuser?
Decide on the room, not the budget. SOSA publishes one size rule: 50ML for bathrooms, bedrooms and home offices up to about 150 sq ft, 130ML for kitchens, living rooms and open-plan spaces above that. A 50ML lasts 6 to 8 weeks and a 130ML lasts 14 to 18 weeks. A 130ML in a small bathroom is not more generous, it is just stronger than the room wants.
Is the Day and Night duo better value than two separate bottles?
Slightly, and only if you actually want both scents. The duo is Rs 1,498 for two 50ML bottles, Malabar lemon and mint plus lavender and chamomile. Those two bottles bought separately are Rs 749 and Rs 799, which comes to Rs 1,548, so the duo is Rs 50 less. Buy it because two rooms matter, not because it is the larger number.
Do I have to spend the whole Rs 1,500?
No, and this is the part worth hearing. The 50ML reed at Rs 749 is still the best-shaped apology gift in the range, and it leaves Rs 751 of this budget unspent. That is not a gap to fill with a second item. The right size for an apology gift comes from the occasion and the relationship, never from the ceiling you happened to set.
Is a 12ML attar a good make-up gift?
Yes, with one condition. A fragrance worn on the body is aimed at a person, so it suits a relationship that is close and current, and it should follow the apology rather than stand in for it. Adaa at Rs 1,149 is the lightest and most neutral oil in the range. Buy adjacent to what they already wear rather than better than it, because an apology is not the moment to upgrade somebody's taste.
