Which one is usually the problem? Sound. New offices are built out of stone, glass and plasterboard with almost no soft surfaces, so they ring. A room that rings makes every conversation in it feel exposed, and people describe that as the room feeling cold or unfinished without identifying why.
When can we add a fragrance? After the new-build smell has finished — paint, adhesive, sealant, carpet and new joinery take weeks, not days — and after sound and temperature have been dealt with. Then Mountain Breeze (pine, sage, Indian cedar, ₹849) low and fixed, or SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 across a connected floor.
Sound is usually the largest of the three and the least often named. A contemporary office is built from vitrified tile or stone, glass partitions, plasterboard and laminate, and it contains almost nothing soft. The result is a long reverberation: footsteps carry, a phone call at one desk is audible at three others, the reception TV bounces, and a meeting room with a glass wall feels exposed even with the door shut. People rarely say 'this room is too reverberant'. They say it feels cold, or hard, or unfinished. The fixes are unglamorous and cheap relative to what you have just spent: a rug under the seating, fabric on one wall, acoustic panels above a meeting table, heavy curtains, a run of upholstered seating rather than moulded chairs, and a ceiling that is not entirely hard.
Temperature is second, and it is a commissioning problem rather than a design one. Two things go wrong in a renovated Vadodara office with tedious regularity: a cold blast lands directly on whoever has just walked in from the heat, and there is one corner — usually the far end of reception or the head of the meeting table — the air never reaches. Both come from diffuser positions being fixed against a drawing rather than against how the furniture ended up. Both are adjustable after the fact. Nobody adjusts them, because the project is closed and the contractor has left.
Third, air movement and what the building smells of. A newly renovated interior smells of itself for weeks: paint, adhesive, sealant, new carpet, new MDF and fresh joinery all release something, and in a sealed, air-conditioned box with the windows never opened there is nowhere for it to go. The correct response is ventilation and time — run the AC on maximum fresh air, open what can be opened early in the morning, and be patient. The incorrect response, and the one this page exists to argue against, is to put a fragrance on top of it. Fragrance does not remove, neutralise or shorten a new-build smell. It adds a second smell to the first, and the combination is worse than either — and you lose the ability to tell when the original has finally gone.
So the order is: sound, temperature, ventilation, then — weeks later, not on opening week — the decision about fragrance. When you reach it, the register should follow the room. A bright, white, glass-and-stone refit takes Morning Freshness at ₹749; a darker, woodier one takes Mountain Breeze at ₹849. Low, fixed, one register across the connected space. Nobody can promise that a scent moves a business number, and this guide does not try to. What it does is complete a sequence that the renovation itself never wrote down.
What a renovated Vadodara head office actually buys
The renovation decides the register and the floor plate decides the machine. Neither decision should be made in the first month after handover, while the building is still finishing off-gassing.
The three things that actually decide it
Three senses were left out of the brief. Dealing with them in this order is what turns a finished-looking room into a finished one.
The three missing senses, and what each one needs
One row per sense, plus the two rows where fragrance finally appears. The order of the rows is the order of the work.
| The Sense a Renovation Skipped | How It Actually Shows Up in the Finished Room | What Settles It |
|---|---|---|
|
Sound
|
The room rings; a phone call carries three desks; a glass meeting room feels exposed with the door closed | Soft surfaces — a rug, one fabric wall, panels over the table, curtains, upholstered seating. Cheap relative to the finishes already bought |
|
Temperature
|
A cold jet lands on whoever just walked in from the heat; one corner the air never reaches | Re-commission against where the furniture actually is: deflectors, a re-balance, occasionally one diffuser moved |
|
Air movement and the new-build smell
|
Paint, adhesive, sealant and fresh joinery for weeks in a sealed interior | Maximum fresh air, early-morning ventilation, and time. Never a fragrance over an unfinished material smell |
| Once the building smells of nothing in particular, the room is complete but uncharacterised | Morning Freshness ₹749 at a low fixed level, in the register the interior was designed for | |
| Reception, corridor and meeting rooms renovated as one connected space | One SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 on the connected volume, waterless, key-locked at a written level |
If the renovation has not happened yet, the upgrade order for a twenty-year-old office ranks the whole list before you commit a budget, and continuity as a design constraint covers how to do the work without unsettling customers of twenty years. If the finished room came out grander than it feels, contemporary without flashy is about restraint as a technique, and the first proper corporate office checklist lists what the visit itself should contain once the building is done.
The SOSA specification for a renovated head office
Chosen to match the register the renovation produced, sized to the connected volume, and introduced only after the building has stopped smelling of itself. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Once one 300–750 sq ft room needs its own schedule | Ultrasonic, so it adds moisture — think carefully in a freshly finished interior | ₹1,899 View → |

Versailles
The call usually comes about six weeks after the opening, and it is almost apologetic. The office looks the way the drawings promised. Everybody complimented it. And the person who signed the cheque is standing in it feeling short-changed and cannot explain why.
Nine times out of ten it is sound. New Indian office interiors are built from hard, beautiful, wipeable materials and they ring like a bathroom. Put a rug under the waiting chairs and fabric on one wall and the same room becomes a place people are willing to talk in. After that it is usually an air-conditioning diffuser pointed at the visitor's neck, which takes an afternoon to fix.
And I will always tell someone six weeks post-handover to wait before buying anything from me. A new building smells of its own materials for a while and there is nothing to be done about that except air and patience. Putting a fragrance on top of it is the worst version of my trade. Come back when the room smells of nothing in particular — then Morning Freshness at ₹749 or Mountain Breeze at ₹849, low, and the job is finished properly.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free, phthalate-free and paraben-free compositions on a heat-stable coconut-derived base, supplied in a refillable glass bottle with six fibre reeds, flipped weekly, with 50ml lasting 6-8 weeks and 130ml lasting 14-18 weeks, tested at 45°C and 85% relative humidity - Mountain Breeze ₹849 / ₹1,349, Morning Freshness ₹749 / ₹1,249, Evening Calm ₹799 / ₹1,299. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering about 270-320 sq ft for 16-18 hours on the low setting and supplied with three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances; being ultrasonic, it works by aerosolising water and therefore adds some moisture to the air, which is worth weighing in a warm, high-occupancy room. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting roughly 75-90 days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule, and tariffs vary), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - which are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment; refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB. Coverage figures are volumetric, so ceiling height changes the floor area a machine genuinely serves. SOSA products are not medical devices and no health, therapeutic, wellbeing or air-treatment claim is made or implied anywhere in this guide, and nothing here claims that ambient scent affects sales, orders, enquiries, footfall, conversion or any other business number - no one can promise that, and this guide does not. Ambient scent is an interior decision that works alongside cleaning, ventilation, air handling and housekeeping and is never a substitute for any of them, and SOSA sells no deodoriser, purifier, dehumidifier or extractor. Ventilation rates, plant and laboratory air handling, pressure regimes, HVAC filtration and any decision about where a fragrance source may or may not be placed on a regulated site are matters for the company's own engineering, QA and EHS teams. Clinical, treatment and procedure areas are left completely unscented. Fragrance sensitivity is real: staff should be able to switch any system off in seconds, and no SOSA product is described as hypoallergenic or as safe for sensitive individuals. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
