The carrier oil matters as much as the fragrance. A cheap mineral-oil base can smell flat and carry fragrance poorly. Remove the bottle's stopper or cap. Insert the reeds so that roughly half their length is submerged in the oil. The saturated portion wicks the oil; the dry exposed portion releases it. Common mistakes · What not to do with a reed diffuser
