Five Sukoons ₹9,495 · one Vaayu ₹11,999 — a gap of ₹2,504 The Vaayu is waterless and cannot run the water-based Hotel Collection A Vaayu cannot reach a closed bedroom — bedrooms take Sukoons either way

Two numbers sit unusually close together at this flat size. Full Sukoon coverage of a 4BHK is five machines, ₹9,495. A single Vaayu is ₹11,999. Two and a half thousand rupees apart, and the temptation is to treat that as a straightforward trade — more machines or one better one. It is not a trade at all. These two options are not interchangeable, and the reason has nothing to do with power or price.
Quick answers — read this first
The verdict: five Sukoons at ₹9,495 for the great majority of 4BHKs.

Why: the Vaayu is waterless. It nebulises neat oil and cannot run the water-based Hotel Collection — so it changes your whole fragrance system, not just your hardware.

The exception: a public zone that is one very large connected volume — double-height, open-plan, 800+ sq ft. Then a Vaayu there, and Sukoons in the bedrooms anyway.
The short answer
Short answer: Multiple Sukoons. Five at ₹9,495 covers a 4BHK properly, keeps the water-based Hotel Collection in play, and gives independent control of every room. A Vaayu at ₹11,999 is waterless, runs neat oil and cannot take the Hotel Collection at all.
When the Vaayu wins: Only when your public zone is a single very large connected volume — a double-height living room, or living-dining-lobby running together above roughly 800 sq ft. Even then it does nothing for four closed bedrooms, so the setup becomes a hybrid at ₹19,595.
The thing to know first: Ultrasonic and waterless are different technologies with different fragrance. The Vaayu and Aangan run neat oil; the Boond, Sukoon and Megh run the water-based Hotel Collection. Bottles do not move between them in either direction.
Straight answer
For a 4BHK, should you buy several Sukoons or one Vaayu?
1. Several Sukoons, for most 4BHKs. Five Sukoons at ₹1,899 each is ₹9,495 and covers every zone of a 4BHK — two in the open public area, three in the bedrooms in use. That is ₹2,504 less than a single Vaayu and it does something the Vaayu cannot.

2. The Vaayu cannot run your fragrance. This is the deciding fact. The Vaayu is waterless. It nebulises neat oil into cold air, and it cannot take the water-based Hotel Collection — not diluted, not in any quantity. Choosing it means changing your entire fragrance system, and the bottles you own become useless to it.

3. And it cannot reach a bedroom. A Vaayu is engineered for large connected open volume — its 1000 m³ rating is roughly a 3,500 sq ft floor at a ten-foot ceiling, but only where that air actually joins up. Four closed bedroom doors are exactly the geometry it cannot work through.

4. So a Vaayu setup is a hybrid, not a replacement. Even in the homes where a Vaayu is right, the bedrooms still take Sukoons. Vaayu ₹11,999 plus four Sukoons ₹7,596 is ₹19,595, and you are running two separate fragrance systems in one flat.

5. Buy the Vaayu only for one situation. A public zone that is a single very large connected volume — double-height, or open-plan living-dining-lobby above roughly 800 sq ft. If your living room is a room with walls, five Sukoons is the better ₹9,495 you will spend.

Made in India, composed by an ISIPCA Versailles-trained perfumer — and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: multiple Sukoons. Five at ₹9,495 beats one Vaayu at ₹11,999 for almost every 4BHK, because the Vaayu is waterless, cannot run the water-based Hotel Collection at all, and cannot reach a single closed bedroom.
SOSA Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic cool mist diffuser
The side that keeps your fragrance
SOSA Sukoon · 500ml ₹1,899
Ultrasonic, 270–320 sq ft, 16–18 hours a fill on low, remote and timers. It runs the water-based Hotel Collection — all seven scents, 15ml to 300ml — and ships with three 15ml bottles. Five of them is ₹9,495 and covers a 4BHK zone by zone, each on its own schedule.

Two fragrance systems, not two machines

The comparison people set up in their heads is a power comparison: a big professional machine against several domestic ones, and the only question is whether the big one is big enough. That framing hides the thing that actually decides it. A Sukoon is an ultrasonic diffuser — a piezo plate vibrating at 2.4MHz breaks a tankful of water into a cool mist and carries dissolved fragrance with it. A Vaayu is a cold-air nebuliser: no water at any point, neat oil atomised into dry particles and pushed out under pressure. Those are not two grades of the same appliance. They are two different physical processes that need two different kinds of liquid, and the water-based Hotel Collection cannot go into a Vaayu at all. Not thinned, not sparingly, not at your own risk. The machine is built for neat oil and water-based fragrance does not work in it.

Which means the real question is not "which machine" but "which system do I want my home to run on". If you have spent any time with the Hotel Collection — if you know which of the seven you want the hallway to smell of, if you have a 300ml bottle in a cupboard, if the idea of choosing per room appeals — then a Vaayu ends that. And the second consideration follows the first: a Vaayu is engineered to fill connected volume, which is why its rating is given in cubic metres rather than square feet. In a warehouse, a lobby or a double-height atrium that figure is meaningful. In a 4BHK it applies to whatever part of the flat is open to itself and stops dead at every bedroom door. So the honest picture is this: a Vaayu never replaces the fleet, it only replaces part of it, and it charges you a second fragrance system for the privilege.

The three decisions in the comparison

1
DECISION ONE · WHAT GOES IN THE MACHINE
The one that settles it
SOSA Hotel CollectionHotel CollectionFrom ₹299The Hotel Collection is water-based, composed for ultrasonic diffusion, and runs in the Boond, Sukoon and Megh. It does not run in the Vaayu or the Aangan, which are waterless and nebulise neat oil. So the Vaayu decision is a fragrance decision wearing a hardware costume: buy one and the seven scents, the 15ml testers, the ₹1,799 300ml bottle and the ₹999 refills all stop being available to that machine. If that sentence bothers you, you have your answer.
The rule: water-based fragrance for ultrasonic machines, neat oil for waterless ones. Never across.
2
DECISION TWO · WHAT SHAPE IS YOUR PUBLIC ZONE
One big connected volume, or a room with walls
Go and look at it honestly. If your living room is a defined 300 sq ft space with a doorway into the dining room, a Vaayu is engineered for a problem you do not have — a single Sukoon covers it. If instead you have a double-height living room, or living, dining and entrance lobby running together as 800 sq ft or more of unbroken air, the Vaayu is doing exactly what it was designed to do and two Sukoons will feel like two islands. That single observation, not the price, is what separates the two setups.
The test: can you see the far end of the public zone from the front door without passing a door frame? Over 800 sq ft of that, and the Vaayu is a real candidate.
3
DECISION THREE · HOW MUCH CONTROL YOU WANT
Five switches or one
A five-machine fleet is five independent decisions every day: the master at three drops, the living room at five, the teenager's room off because she has exams and finds it distracting, the guest room on an hour before people arrive. A Vaayu is one machine with an app and a timer governing one zone uniformly — excellent control of that zone, no control of anything else, because it never reaches anything else. There is also the unglamorous point: if a ₹1,899 Sukoon fails you replace a fifth of your setup.

The head-to-head, question by question

Five Sukoons against one Vaayu on the things that actually differ. This is not a specification contest — on raw output the Vaayu wins comfortably. It is a question of whether that output can go where you need it and carry what you want it to carry.

Sukoon fleet vs Vaayu
Five machines against one, on the points that decide it
The question Five Sukoons · ₹9,495 One Vaayu · ₹11,999 Verdict
Can it run the Hotel Collection? Yes — all seven, 15ml to 300ml No. Waterless, neat oil only Sukoons
Does it reach closed bedrooms? Yes — one machine per room No. Connected volume only Sukoons
Large open public zone ★ Two machines, good but not seamless Built for exactly this — 1000 m³ Vaayu
Per-room control Five timers, five doses, five scents if you like One app-controlled zone Sukoons
Day-one price ₹9,495, includes 15 × 15ml scents ₹11,999, fragrance bought separately Sukoons
If one machine fails Replace one at ₹1,899 The whole setup stops Sukoons
The honest reading: the Vaayu wins one row and it is a row that matters enormously in the right home. If your public zone is genuinely 800+ sq ft of connected air, buy it — and buy Sukoons for the bedrooms anyway, because it will never reach them.

The two systems — and the fragrance only one of them takes
The SOSA principle
A Vaayu is not a bigger Sukoon. It is a different fragrance system that happens to also be a machine.
Waterless machines run neat oil. The water-based Hotel Collection cannot go in one at all — so the hardware choice decides what your home is allowed to smell of.

Placement, drops and how each system is actually run

A Sukoon fleet is run room by room. Each machine sits about a metre off the floor, out of the direct throw of a fan or AC, with a foot of clearance so mist disperses rather than condensing. Three to four drops of Hotel Collection per tank in bedrooms, four to five in the public zone, and the 2H timer doing the stopping for you. In the open living-dining, the two machines go at opposite ends rather than side by side — the point of the second machine is reach, not volume.

A Vaayu is run completely differently, and it is worth knowing before you buy. It is set through a Bluetooth app with scheduled intervals rather than filled and switched on, it uses neat oil bought for it specifically, and it works best mounted or stood where its output can join the room's natural air movement rather than fight it. What it does not do is respond to a room. There is no per-bedroom dose, no reaching down a corridor into a shut room, no walking over and turning it down because tonight it is a bit much in here. It scents a connected volume as one thing, which is precisely its virtue in a lobby and its limitation in a home.

If you run a hybrid — a Vaayu in a large public zone and Sukoons in the bedrooms — accept that you are running two scent families and plan for it. Do not try to match them; a neat-oil nebulised fragrance and a water-based ultrasonic one behave differently in air and will not read as the same smell even if the notes are cousins. Choose a clear, quiet character for the bedrooms — Westin-inspired White Tea Serenity or The Ritz-Carlton-inspired Quiet Luxury — and let the public zone do whatever it does. Rinse Sukoon tanks between scents, use filtered water in hard-water cities, and never put raw essential or carrier oils in an ultrasonic machine.

The Vaayu question is not can it fill my flat. It is what am I prepared to stop putting in my flat.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA

What each route actually costs

The arithmetic on both sides, itemised. Note that the Sukoon totals include fragrance — three 15ml bottles per machine — while the Vaayu price is the machine alone, since the Hotel Collection cannot be used in it and its oil is a separate purchase.

Fleet against commercial
Five costings, with the real totals
Setup What you get Covers Total
The lean fleet Four Sukoons ₹1,899 × 4 — 12 × 15ml scents Public zone + three bedrooms ₹7,596
The verdict ★ Five Sukoons ₹1,899 × 5 — 15 × 15ml scents Whole 4BHK, every zone ₹9,495
The Vaayu alone One Vaayu ₹11,999 — waterless, neat oil bought separately, cannot run the Hotel Collection One large connected zone only ₹11,999
The hybrid Vaayu ₹11,999 + four Sukoons ₹7,596 Large open zone + four bedrooms ₹19,595
Fleet running cost One 300ml bottle ₹1,799 (~₹6/ml) or refills from ₹999 Months across five machines from ₹999
Honest notes before you buy: the Vaayu line is the machine only. Because it is waterless and runs neat oil, none of the Hotel Collection pricing applies to it and its fragrance is a separate purchase — budget for that before comparing the two columns. The Sukoon totals are complete on day one, since each machine ships with three 15ml scents. These are ultrasonic, water-based fragrances and add a little humidity, welcome in a dry or air-conditioned flat and less so in a coastal monsoon. The machines (Boond, Sukoon, Megh) are imported from China; the Hotel Collection fragrances are composed and made in India. The Aangan (₹25,999) is likewise waterless and cannot take the Hotel Collection. Use filtered water in hard-water areas, rinse tanks between scents, and keep fragrance away from children and pets. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
SOSA Vaayu waterless cold-air scent diffuser
Where it genuinely wins
SOSA Vaayu · waterless ₹11,999
Cold-air nebulising rated to 1000 m³ — roughly a 3,500 sq ft floor at a ten-foot ceiling, but only where that air is genuinely connected. Bluetooth app and timer. It is waterless, runs neat oil, and cannot use the water-based Hotel Collection at all. Right for a double-height or open-plan public zone; wrong for four closed bedrooms.

A note from Sonal

We sell the Vaayu. I want that on the table before I talk anyone out of one, because it means I have no reason to be dismissive and every reason to be accurate. In a 4BHK it is usually the wrong purchase, and the reason is fragrance, not price.

I composed the Hotel Collection for water. Seven scents, built to hold together through an ultrasonic mist, to open the way they should when they meet the air at room temperature. That formulation is why they cannot go into a waterless nebuliser — it is not a compatibility inconvenience, it is a different discipline. So when somebody with a flat full of my bottles asks whether to consolidate into one big machine, what they are really asking is whether to give all of that up. Usually they had not realised that was the question.

If your living room is double-height, or your public zone genuinely runs to 800 sq ft of connected air, buy the Vaayu for that zone with my blessing — and Sukoons for the bedrooms, because nothing else will reach them. Otherwise: five Sukoons, ₹9,495, one scent through the flat. A portion of every order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy multiple Sukoons or one Vaayu for a 4BHK?
Multiple Sukoons in almost every case. Five at ₹9,495 covers a whole 4BHK against ₹11,999 for one Vaayu, and the Vaayu is waterless — it runs neat oil and cannot use the water-based Hotel Collection at all. It also cannot reach a closed bedroom, so it would leave four rooms unscented.
Why can a Vaayu not use the Hotel Collection?
Because it is a waterless cold-air nebuliser. It atomises neat oil under pressure, with no water in the system at any point, so it needs a fragrance formulated for that process. The Hotel Collection is water-based and composed for ultrasonic diffusion in the Boond, Sukoon and Megh. The two are not interchangeable in either direction.
When is a Vaayu the right choice in a home?
When the public zone is a single very large connected volume — a double-height living room, or living, dining and lobby running together above roughly 800 sq ft. Its 1000 m³ rating is about a 3,500 sq ft floor at a ten-foot ceiling, but only where the air genuinely joins up. Bedrooms still need Sukoons, making the total ₹19,595 with four of them.
Is five Sukoons running at once too much fragrance?
Only if you dose and schedule them as though each were alone. Three to four drops in bedrooms, four to five in the public zone, and 2H timers rather than continuous running. Zones bleed into each other at thresholds in a big flat, so a fleet wants a slightly lighter hand than a single machine, not a heavier one.
Can I use one Vaayu and no other machines in a 4BHK?
You can, and the four bedrooms will smell of nothing. A Vaayu fills connected volume and stops at every closed door, so it would scent the public zone impressively and leave the private half of the flat untouched — while also retiring your water-based fragrance, since it cannot run it. That is why a Vaayu setup in a home is always a hybrid.
4BHK · the verdict
Five Sukoons at ₹9,495 — because the ₹11,999 machine cannot run your fragrance
Five Sukoons cover a whole 4BHK, arrive with fifteen 15ml Hotel Collection bottles, and let you run every room on its own schedule. The Vaayu at ₹11,999 is waterless, runs neat oil, cannot take the Hotel Collection and cannot reach a closed bedroom — it belongs only in a very large open zone.
