✓ Honest about the gap: SOSA makes no musk attar, only musk as a base note✓ No leather, tobacco or heavy rose in Adaa, and no oudh at all✓ Made in India to IFRA standards · a portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali

SOSA makes no musk attar; white musk is only ever a base note. Almost everyone shops an office fragrance from the top of the pyramid down and then wears it from the bottom up, so here are the four characteristics in the order you will live with them.
Quick answers — read this first
Which fragrance characteristics matter most for the office? In order: projection, then drydown, then longevity, then the opening. That is the reverse of how most people shop. The room is shared, the drydown is where the hours go, and the opening is gone within minutes.
Is there a clean unisex musk attar at SOSA? No. SOSA makes no musk attar and no musk soliflore; white musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab. SOSA Adaa, from ₹379 for 3ml, has the dry white musk, vetiver and cedarwood floor this brief wants.
How many dabs of an attar suit an office? One. One dab is a whisper and two is a sentence. Put it on the chest, under clothing, rather than the wrist, and judge it at hour three on an ordinary working day before you decide on a larger size.
The short answer
Short answer: Rank projection first, drydown second, longevity third and the opening last. Then buy the pyramid whose base is dry musk and wood, since SOSA makes no musk-only attar.
The pick: One 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379, one dab on the chest, judged at your desk at hour three.
Next step: Tell us the room you work in and what you have worn there, and we will say whether Adaa fits or whether another bottle is a better first test. Ask for an attar recommendation.
The four characteristics in the order an office asks for them. The opening is on the fourth line because it is the first thing you smell and the first thing that leaves; the dab count and the 3ml price are on the last.
Adaa first, then the two warmer attars, if the office allows
I Want a Clean Unisex Musk for Daily Office Wear — Which Fragrance Characteristics Should I Prioritise?
Rank four things, in this order, and ignore the order the shelf teaches you. There is no musk attar at SOSA to point you at, so the ranking is applied to a pyramid with white musk in its floor. Here it is in five steps.
1. Say the gap, then move on. SOSA makes no musk attar and no musk soliflore of any kind. White musk is a base note in SOSA Adaa, SOSA Ameeri and SOSA Nawaab, never the whole fragrance. The full version is in the page that owns the gap, and this one is about what to do next.
2. Projection first. It is how much of the fragrance leaves your own skin, and in a shared room it is a courtesy question before it is a taste question. SOSA publishes no projection figure for any attar, so you control it with dose and placement: one dab, on the chest.
3. Drydown second. The opening is gone in minutes; the drydown is the stage you wear for the rest of the hours. For a clean unisex musk it should be dry musk over wood, which is how Adaa ends: white musk, vetiver and cedarwood.
4. Longevity third. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin and no more. For an office that is enough, and chasing longer usually means a heavier base. Longevity matters least of the three that describe wearing, because you can re-apply and you cannot un-apply.
5. The opening last. Bergamot, cardamom and neroli are a pleasant first few minutes and nothing more. Shoppers rank the opening first because a paper strip only shows them that. Then take SOSA Adaa at ₹379 for 3ml, one dab, and test all four on a real day.
Nobody can promise you what anyone you work with will make of a fragrance, and I will not try. If a shared room matters to you, ask the people in it, and check your employer's own policy before you buy anything.
Rank projection, drydown, longevity, then the opening. SOSA makes no musk attar, but SOSA Adaa at ₹379 has a dry white musk, vetiver and cedarwood floor. One dab on the chest, judged at hour three.
What to buy for a clean unisex musk at the office
The product
SOSA Adaa, with white musk in the base beside vetiver and cedarwood. An alcohol-free roll-on on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, hand-blended in Pune. No leather, tobacco, vanilla, amber or oudh in the pyramid.
The size to start on
The 3ml, at ₹379. It covers the three ordinary workdays the test needs. The 6ml at ₹669 and the 12ml at ₹1,149 are for after you know the order holds.
Dabs, and where
One dab on the chest, under your shirt or collar, once. Not the wrist: your wrist spends the day at the keyboard, close to your own nose, and one dab is a whisper that should stay a whisper.
At hour three
The bergamot, cardamom and neroli have gone. What is left, by the published pyramid, is white musk with vetiver and cedarwood, dry and close, with a little of the white flowers fading out.
What it costs to stay on it
Nothing beyond the first 3ml until you are sure. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin, and the sensible follow-up is a 6ml for the desk drawer, not a second scent.
I would start you on Adaa and on one dab, because that is the only dose that tells you the truth about the drydown. It is the one attar I make where the floor is dry musk and wood. SOSA does not make a pure musk, and I would rather say so than let you believe this is one.
Buy one 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379 and test it on a working day: Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli on top, jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in the heart, white musk, vetiver and cedarwood underneath. Alcohol-free, hand-blended in Pune, with no oudh. One dab on the chest, then write down what you notice at hours one, three and six.
SOSA makes four attars, all alcohol-free, DPG-free roll-on oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. Only one of them has the dry musk-and-wood floor an office order of priorities rewards. The others are warmer on purpose, and the cards below say how much.
₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml. Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The lightest of the four and the only one without oudh. Nothing in the pyramid is leather, tobacco, vanilla or amber, which is why it ranks well on drydown.
₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml. Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot over Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, on soft oudh, amber and white musk. A richer, warmer floor. It scores less well on a clean-musk drydown and is a good second bottle, not the first one.
₹399 for 3ml, ₹699 for 6ml, ₹1,199 for 12ml. White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf over amber, leather and white musk. Oud-led, the deepest of the four, and a rich attar in its own right. For a clean unisex daily brief it is the one to choose knowingly, not by default.
None of these is a promise about your nose. Each is a reason, readable before you buy, to weight one characteristic above another when the fragrance is going to spend its life in a shared room.
1
One
Projection first, because it is the only one a room shares
Drydown, longevity and the opening are all things you experience. Projection is the one that other people in the room also do, which is why it ranks first. SOSA publishes no projection figure for any attar, and I will not invent one, so the control is yours: dose and placement. A roll-on lets you choose a single dab, where a spray chooses the cloud for you. Put one dab on the chest, under clothing. A fragrance that projects less than you expected is a fault you can fix with a second dab; one that projects more cannot be taken back.
Tip: Ask someone who shares your room, once, in your own words. Their answer is worth more than any adjective on a bottle.
Adaa at ₹379 is the lightest of the four and carries no oudh. A dry base like white musk, vetiver and cedarwood is the structure that tends to keep a fragrance close.
Drydown second, because it is where the hours are spent
The opening lasts minutes. The drydown is what remains once the volatile top has gone, and it is what you wear through the rest of the morning and into the afternoon. For a clean unisex musk the drydown should be dry rather than sweet, built on musk and wood, with nothing that turns creamy or resinous. In Adaa that is white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. Judge it on bare skin at hour three, not on a paper strip, because paper has no skin chemistry and no warmth to work with.
Tip: Write down your impression at hour three, before you look at the pyramid again. Then compare the two.
Ameeri at ₹385 ends on soft oudh, amber and white musk. A warmer drydown, rich and rounded, and a different brief from a clean office musk.
Longevity and the opening last, though shoppers rank them first
Longevity and the opening are the two characteristics a seller can advertise in a line, which is why they dominate the shelf. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin for the attars and nothing beyond that, and for an office that is already more than enough. A fragrance built to last far longer usually has a heavier base, and a heavier base is what you are trying to avoid. The opening is the most pleasant and least representative stage, so treat it as an introduction, not a verdict.
Tip: If a seller leads with how long it lasts, ask what the drydown is. If they cannot say, the adjectives are all you have been offered.
Nawaab at ₹399 is the deepest attar, built around oud, amber and leather. It sits at the far end of this ranking and is not the office answer.
You shop a fragrance from the top of the pyramid down, because the top is what you smell first. You wear it from the bottom up, because the base is what is left for most of the hours. An office rewards the second order, not the first.
That is why a pyramid answers this question before you smell anything. Read the base first, ask how far it travels second, and leave the opening to last, when it can no longer change your mind.
The one whose floor is dry musk and wood: Adaa at ₹379: Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over three white flowers, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The lightest of the four attars, with no oudh at all, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml.
Here is the order again, with what to look for in a listing and what Adaa shows on each line. Two rows are read from the pyramid, one is a stated figure, and one is a line SOSA does not publish and says so.
The SOSA plan
Four priorities in order, what to read, and what Adaa shows
The characteristic, in priority order
What to look for, and what Adaa shows
1. Projection: how much of it leaves your skin
Look for a short pyramid, no heavy resin and a seller who will say close-wearing in plain words. SOSA publishes no projection figure for Adaa, so one dab on the chest and a question to the room is the test. View →
2. Drydown: what remains after the top has gone
Read the base. Adaa's is white musk, vetiver and cedarwood: dry, close and unsweet, with no vanilla, amber, leather or oudh anywhere in the published pyramid. View →
3. Longevity: how long it stays on skin
SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin and nothing further, and how long any fragrance lasts depends on skin, dose and the day. Treat anything more specific from any seller with caution.
4. Opening: the first few minutes
Bergamot, green cardamom and neroli in Adaa: bright and quick. Enjoy it, and do not buy on it, because it is the least representative stage of how the whole fragrance wears.
If your office tolerates some warmth: Ameeri at ₹385 adds Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, amber and a little soft oudh to the same white musk. A richer drydown, and a fair second bottle for the weekend rather than the first for the desk.
The fork is soft or transparent. Adaa is bright, then soft, then dry musk and wood. Khayaal, a perfume oil, is sparkling bergamot, neroli, black tea and amberwood. Choose by the word you used in your own head.
You shop a fragrance from the top of the pyramid and wear it from the bottom, so rank the characteristics in the order you will actually live with them.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
If you want a warmer second bottle
The warmer attars, and the boxed set, for the weekend rather than the desk
Two rows. Adaa is the answer for the reader who wants soft and dry. The perfume oil Khayaal is the answer for the reader whose word is transparent, and it is a different idea, not a musk. The note below says what neither of them is.
The SOSA specification for a clean unisex office fragrance
Adaa for dry and close, Khayaal if transparent is the word you meant
Both rows start small: the 3ml of Adaa at ₹379, or the 10ml of Khayaal at ₹599. Larger sizes are for after a full week: ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml for Adaa and ₹599 for 10ml, ₹1,899 for 50ml, ₹3,599 for 100ml for Khayaal. Neither is a musk soliflore, because SOSA makes none; white musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, never the subject. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin for the attars and nothing further, and publishes no projection figure for any product. A fragrance sits on top of ordinary washing and changes nothing about it. A patch test on first use is the only skin advice we give, and many workplaces set their own fragrance policy, so check yours first. Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of it, and I will not. Ours is a contact page and a person who replies: Ask for an attar recommendation and describe your room.
SS
ISIPCA Versailles
A note from Sonal
Whenever someone asks me for a fragrance for work, I ask them what the room is like, not what notes they like. A small shared office, a client floor and a corner desk are three different briefs, and the notes matter less than the dose. The shelf has taught everyone to start with the opening. I try, gently, to turn that around, because the opening is the stage you will not be wearing by the time the first meeting starts.
So I ask them to rank four things, and I tell them my own order: projection, drydown, longevity, opening. Projection first because the room is shared. Drydown second because that is where the hours are. Longevity and the opening last, because they are the two a seller can advertise easily and the two that help you least on a Tuesday. I should add the awkward part plainly: I make no musk attar, so Adaa is a pyramid with musk in its floor, and I will not call it more.
The advice is small. One 3ml, one dab on the chest, three ordinary workdays, and a judgement at hour three at your desk. If you want it quieter, move the dab, not the bottle. If you want it fuller, add a second dab before you add a second scent. Nobody can promise you what anyone you work with will think, so ask them, and read your employer's own policy first. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a clean unisex musk attar at SOSA?
No. SOSA makes no musk attar and no musk soliflore of any kind; white musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab. SOSA Adaa is the nearest, with a floor of white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. Nothing in its pyramid is leather, tobacco, vanilla, amber or oudh, which is what unisex means here.
Why rank projection above longevity?
Because the room is shared. Longevity is a private experience of your own skin, and SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin for the attars. Projection decides what the people near you share, and a roll-on lets you choose one dab where a spray chooses a cloud. SOSA publishes no projection figure for any attar.
Where should I put one dab for an office?
On the chest, under your shirt or collar, once. One dab is a whisper and two is a sentence. The wrist spends the day at the keyboard close to your own nose, so a chest dab is easier to judge and easier to keep quiet. Move it before you change the bottle.
Is a white-flower heart unisex?
Whether jasmine, magnolia and ylang ylang read as one gender or the other is convention, not chemistry, and it differs between people. What you can read from the pyramid is that Adaa has no leather, tobacco or heavy rose, and that the flowers sit between a citrus top and a dry base.
What if Adaa turns out too soft for the office?
Then you have learned something for ₹379 and not for ₹1,149, which is the point of the 3ml. Tell us what you noticed at hour one and hour three, and we will say whether SOSA Khayaal is the better try or the range is not what you need.
The attar to leave out of this particular search: Nawaab at ₹399 is white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf over amber, leather and white musk. About as far from a clean unisex office musk as the range goes.
SOSA — One Dab, One Deskone 3ml of Adaa, one dab on the chest, judged at hour three on a real day
SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. SOSA makes no musk attar, and Khayaal is the transparent alternative if soft is the wrong word. Alcohol-free, hand-blended in Pune. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.
