White musk is the note people name when they cannot name a perfume. The honest answer here is closer than you might expect and smaller than you might hope, and it begins with what sits on top of the musk.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA oil is closest to white musk? SOSA Adaa at ₹379. White musk is in its base with vetiver and cedarwood. It is the lightest of the four and the only one composed with no oudh, so the musk has the most room.

Is there a white musk soliflore in the range? No. White musk is a base note in SOSA Adaa, SOSA Ameeri and SOSA Nawaab, never the whole fragrance. Adaa opens on bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, so expect a composition.

What if I want white musk to be louder? Try SOSA Ameeri at ₹385, where the musk sits beside amber and soft oudh under Taif rose. It is rounder, not louder. If you want musk to be the whole bottle, this range does not make that.
The short answer
Short answer: No white musk soliflore exists here. SOSA Adaa is the closest literal match: white musk, vetiver and cedarwood in the base, under bergamot, green cardamom, neroli and three white flowers.
The pick: One 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379, worn for three ordinary days and judged at hour three. Add SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 only if you want the musk warmer.
Next step: Tell us what white musk you wear now and what you would change about it, and we will say whether Adaa is the answer. Ask for an attar recommendation.

Straight answer
I Love White Musk — Which Perfume Oil Should I Try?
There is no white musk soliflore in the range: white musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, and never the whole of a composition. Adaa is the closest literal match, and this is how to try it in five steps.

1. Read what sits above the musk. Adaa opens on Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli, with jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in the heart. The white musk is underneath, with vetiver and cedarwood. It is a composition with musk at the bottom, not a musk.

2. Buy one 3ml of Adaa. SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is the lightest of the four and the only one with no oudh, which is why the musk has the most room in it. It is the closest literal answer to the question in the title.

3. Wear it three ordinary days. One dab on one pulse point, in the season you will wear it, and judge at hour three. White musk is a base note, so hour three is a better judge of it than the first sniff.

4. Know the two alternatives. SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 puts the musk beside amber and soft oudh, warmer and rounder. SOSA Nawaab at ₹399 has it under oud and leather and is the wrong place to look for it.

5. Decide what you wanted from the musk. If it was closeness, the oil format does much of that. If it was a single clean note in a bottle, that bottle is not made here, and it is better to know now.

Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of it, and I will not. A fragrance can be consistent, close and distinctive. What it does in someone else's head is theirs.
No white musk soliflore, but SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is the closest literal match: white musk in the base, under bergamot, green cardamom and neroli. One 3ml, one dab, judged at hour three.
The first purchase is one 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379. White musk, vetiver and cedarwood in the base; jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in the heart; Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli on top; no oudh. An alcohol-free roll-on oil on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier. If you want the musk warmer, add SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 second.

Adaa, and the other attars with white musk

SOSA makes four attars and white musk is a base note in three of them. Adaa is the closest literal match and Ameeri is the warmer one. All are alcohol-free, DPG-free roll-on oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, hand-blended in Pune, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. Prices and sizes are on the live pages.

Three things sitting above the musk

A white musk lover meets the top and the heart before the musk, so those are what to expect. Here is what each of the three layers does, and the reason you might decide you do not want this.

1
One
The top is bergamot, green cardamom and neroli
These are the first minutes. Calabrian bergamot is bright citrus, green cardamom adds a cool spiced edge, and neroli is orange blossom, which means a floral note arrives in the opening. If you came for a pure musk, this is the part that will surprise you, because it is not musk and it is not subtle. It also fades first, and what remains is the reason to judge at hour three. Nothing in the top is sweet or heavy, which is why Adaa is the lightest of the four.
Tip: Do not judge it in the first minutes. The top is the part that changes most and tells you least about the musk.
SOSA Adaa
Adaa at ₹379 is the only attar whose top is bergamot, green cardamom and neroli. If you want to know whether you like that opening, the 3ml is how you find out.
See SOSA Adaa →
2
Two
The heart is jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang
Three white flowers sit between the top and the musk. Jasmine sambac is the familiar one, magnolia is a cooler, lemon-tinged bloom, and ylang ylang is creamier and rounder. Together they are why Adaa reads as a floral composition over a musk rather than the other way round. If white flowers are not what you want near your musk, say so now. If they are, the heart is where Adaa and white musk meet most comfortably.
Tip: Notice at hour one which of the three flowers you pick out. That tells you more about the musk beneath than a note list does.
SOSA Ameeri
If the flowers are not your direction, Ameeri at ₹385 has Taif rose and Indian sandalwood in the heart, with the white musk beside amber and soft oudh in the base.
See SOSA Ameeri →
3
Three
The base is where the white musk is, and it has company
White musk sits at the bottom with vetiver and cedarwood. Vetiver is dry and rooty, cedarwood is dry and pencil-like, and between them they keep the musk from reading as sweet. That is what white musk is doing here: it is the soft part of a dry, woody floor. It is also the part you will smell last, and for a musk lover that is the point at which Adaa becomes what you came for. It is still a base note of a composition, never a soliflore.
Tip: Give it until hour three before you decide, and compare the drydown across two different days.
SOSA Adaa
The base is identical in every size of Adaa, which is ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml. Start with the 3ml and let the drydown answer the question for you.
See SOSA Adaa →
The SOSA principle
White musk in this range is a destination, not a starting point. You arrive at it after bergamot and white flowers, and whether that journey is worth it is something only a 3ml and an ordinary day can answer.
That turns the question from where the musk attar is into whether you like the road to the musk, which is a question about the top and the heart as much as the base.
SOSA Adaa
The closest literal match to white musk: Adaa at ₹379, with white musk, vetiver and cedarwood in the base, and bergamot, green cardamom and neroli on top. The lightest of the four, and the only attar with no oudh anywhere in it.

Adaa, read layer by layer on skin

A pyramid is a map of what is in the bottle and roughly when you meet it. The table reads Adaa from the top down and says what each layer is, what it does, and what to write down. Timings are a guide, not a promise, and vary from person to person.

The musk, on a dry woody floor. This is the part you came for and the part you meet last. Note whether it reads soft and skin-like to you at hour three. View →
What is not in Adaa: oudh, amber, vanilla
Adaa is the one attar with no oudh, and no amber or vanilla in it either. If you dislike sweetness or smoke, the absence is as useful as the presence.

If the musk turns out to be the part you cared about, the overview of the three attars that carry white musk shows how Ameeri and Nawaab use the same note differently. If what you liked was how close it sat, why an oil sits closer than a spray is the format argument. And if you are weighing Adaa against a musk that is clean but not powdery, clean musk without the powder draws the line. SOSA makes no musk soliflore, and this page has been about the nearest literal approach to one. If you would rather not run the days yourself, describe the white musk you wear now and we will say whether Adaa is the answer.

SOSA Ameeri
If you want the musk next to something warm: Ameeri at ₹385 sets white musk beside amber and soft oudh, under Taif rose and Indian sandalwood. A rounder, warmer reading of the very same base note, and still not a musk soliflore.
One white musk question, answered by email

White musk is the last thing you meet in Adaa and the first thing a musk lover looks for. The 3ml is how you find out whether the road is worth it.

The SOSA specification for white musk

Two rows and two 3ml bottles. Adaa for the closest literal white musk, Ameeri for the white musk beside amber. Neither is a soliflore, and the note under the table says why that matters.

Both rows are 3ml. The 6ml and 12ml of the same composition are the right purchase after a full season, not instead of it: ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml for Adaa and ₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml for Ameeri. SOSA Nawaab at ₹399 carries white musk too, but it is the deepest of the four and oud-led. SOSA Mastani has no white musk. If you meant a perfume oil in the narrower sense, SOSA Bahaar lists crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk, from ₹599 for 10ml, which is a pear scent with musk at the end rather than a musk scent. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin and nothing further; how far a fragrance carries depends on skin, dose, clothing and the weather, and varies from person to person. A patch test on first use is the only skin advice we give. Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of it, and I will not. Ours is a contact page and a person who replies: Ask for an attar recommendation and describe the white musk you wear now.

A note from Sonal

White musk is a note I am asked about often, usually by people who say they do not much like perfume. I have never made a bottle of it, and I want to be plain about why this page exists: Adaa is not that bottle. It is a composition built to be light, with no oudh in it, and white musk sits at the bottom with vetiver and cedarwood. It is the nearest thing to what you are asking for, and nearest is not the same as is.

When I talk someone through Adaa I start from the top, because that is what they will meet first. Bergamot, green cardamom and neroli. Then the white flowers. Then, when those have settled, the musk. People who love white musk tend to love that last part and tolerate the first two. If you wanted musk from the first second, tell me, because I would rather suggest the 3ml and three ordinary days than have you buy the 12ml on a hope.

So the advice is the usual small one: one 3ml, one dab, judged at hour three, in the season you will wear it. Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of how you smell, so there is nothing riding on this beyond your own preference, which was always the only part that was yours. That is a smaller promise than most perfume pages make, and a truer one. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Does Adaa smell like a pure white musk?
No. White musk is the base of Adaa, under bergamot, green cardamom and neroli and a heart of jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang. It is a composition with musk at the bottom, and the musk is the last thing you meet rather than the first. There is no white musk soliflore anywhere in the SOSA range.
Is there any white musk in the other attars?
Yes, in two. SOSA Ameeri has it in the base beside amber and soft oudh, and SOSA Nawaab has it beside amber and leather. SOSA Mastani does not carry it; its base is Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka. In every case it is a base note.
What is the closest SOSA perfume oil to soft musk?
If you mean a perfume oil rather than an attar, SOSA Bahaar lists soft musk with crisp orchard pear and freesia, from ₹599 for 10ml. It is a pear-and-freesia scent with musk at the end, not a musk scent. For white musk specifically, SOSA Adaa is the closer answer.
Will Adaa feel too floral for a white musk lover?
It might. The heart is jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, and the top has neroli, which is orange blossom, so there is a good deal of white flower above the musk. If you want less of that, SOSA Ameeri has Taif rose and sandalwood in its heart and the musk beside amber. The 3ml of Adaa is the cheap way to find out.
How long should I wear Adaa before deciding?
Three ordinary days, one dab on one pulse point, judged at hour three. The top fades first and the musk is a base note, so the first sniff tells you least. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin and nothing beyond that; how far it carries varies from person to person.
SOSA Attar Trio
If you want to compare two musk bases: The Attar Trio from ₹1,055 holds Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani. Ameeri and Nawaab carry white musk, Mastani has none, and Adaa is not in the box. Useful for comparing, not for starting.

Facts verified 1 October 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: SOSA makes four attars, all alcohol-free, DPG-free roll-on perfume oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, hand-blended in Pune and sold in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml, with a stated wear of 6–8 hours on skin: Adaa (top Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom, neroli; heart jasmine sambac, magnolia, ylang ylang; base white musk, vetiver, cedarwood; no oudh) from ₹379, Ameeri (top Persian saffron, pink pepper, bergamot; heart Taif rose, Indian sandalwood; base soft oudh, amber, white musk) from ₹385, Mastani (top litchi, bergamot, pink pepper; heart night-blooming jasmine, Damask rose; base Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla, tonka) from ₹389 and Nawaab (top white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco leaf; base amber, leather, white musk) from ₹399, plus the Attar Trio (Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani) from ₹1,055. White musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab; SOSA makes no pure musk soliflore. Bahaar is a perfume oil, not an attar (crisp orchard pear, freesia, soft musk), from ₹599 for 10ml. SOSA also makes no coffee attar, clean-linen, cotton or laundry accord, aldehydic-soapy scent, petrichor or wet-earth scent, single-note green or vetiver soliflore, lavender, eucalyptus or herbal-spa scent, incense-resin scent, or tuberose.
