Four services under one roof feels like four scenting decisions, which is why founders send me four questions. It is one decision, made by subtraction. Cross off everything that cannot be scented and what remains is small enough that a single machine covers it without effort.
Quick answers — read this first
Which areas of a 2,000 sq ft multi-service centre actually get scented? Entrance, reception, the waiting lounge and the public corridor. On a typical plan that is around 550 sq ft of your 2,000 - roughly a third once consultation rooms are counted as drift-only. Everything clinical comes off the list first: examination rooms, the scan room, pelvic-floor physiotherapy cabins, the procedure room, sample collection, changing rooms, staff areas, stores and washrooms. That subtraction is about 1,150 sq ft and it is done before anything is chosen.

Do nutrition and preventive health count as non-clinical? Not for this purpose. A consultation room is a consultation room whichever service is running it, so nutrition and preventive-health consulting rooms take a faint drift from the lounge and no machine of their own, exactly as the gynaecology rooms do. If a room in any of the four services also examines, weighs, measures or asks a patient to undress or lie down, it moves onto the unscented list with the examination rooms and stays there.

What does the whole plan cost? One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, wall or HVAC mounted on the public air path, running clinic hours on the app timer at a low setting with the key-lock engaged. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one machine. Not four machines for four services, and not a second machine for the far end of the same lounge - a second machine belongs to a second volume of air, and you have one.
The short answer
Short answer: entrance, reception, the waiting lounge and the public corridor, and nothing else. Write the fragrance-free list first - examination and scan rooms, physio cabins, procedure and sample rooms, changing rooms, staff areas and stores - and about 1,150 sq ft of a 2,000 sq ft plate comes off before you choose anything. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers what is left. Total: ₹11,999.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) mounted on the entrance-to-lounge air path, with all four services sharing the one profile and all four sets of treatment rooms left completely unscented.
Next step: send the 2,000 sq ft plan with every room labelled by service, and we will send it back with the unscented rooms crossed out and the machine marked - Ask for a clinic scenting plan.

Four services do not need four plans. They need one subtraction, done honestly, and the third of the plate that survives it is small enough for a single machine to hold at a low setting.
The one machine for a multi-service centre - tap for the specification
Straight answer
Which areas of a 2,000 sq ft gynaecology, nutrition, physiotherapy and preventive-health centre should actually be scented?
Do this backwards, because the subtraction is the plan. Take your 2,000 sq ft plate and write the fragrance-free list first, before you look at a single fragrance. Two gynaecology examination rooms, at roughly 120 sq ft each. The ultrasound or scan room, about 140. Two pelvic-floor physiotherapy cabins, about 120 each. A procedure or minor-treatment room, about 120. Sample collection, about 80. Changing rooms and washrooms, about 150. Staff room, store and utility, about 150. That is somewhere near 1,150 sq ft crossed off before anything is decided, and it is crossed off for one reason that covers every room on the list: in each of them a patient is undressed, on a table, mid-treatment or otherwise unable to leave, for a length of time she does not control, and she did not choose the fragrance. That argument needs no support from anywhere else and it applies identically whether the room belongs to gynaecology or to physiotherapy. Next, the middle category. Consultation rooms - two gynaecology, one nutrition, one preventive health, call it 300 sq ft - take a faint drift through the door and never a device of their own, and never a level stronger than the lounge they open off. The service running the room does not change this: a nutrition consulting room is not a lounge because the conversation is friendlier, and a preventive-health room where anyone is weighed, measured or asked to lie down moves onto the unscented list with the examination rooms. What is left is about 550 sq ft - entrance, reception, the waiting lounge and the public corridor - which is a bit over a quarter of your plate and, once you count the drift-only rooms as effectively unscented too, roughly a third of what people imagine they are buying for. That 550 sq ft is one continuous volume of public air, so it takes one machine and one fragrance. One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, wall or HVAC mounted on the entrance-to-lounge air path rather than pointed at the clinical corridor, rated to 1000m³ so it runs well below its capacity, waterless, under 38dB, on the app timer for clinic hours with the key-lock engaged so four different service heads cannot each adjust it on a different afternoon. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one machine. Not four machines for four services - four fragrances in one building is how a centre starts smelling confused at the point where two corridors meet - and not a second machine at the far end of the same lounge, because a second machine belongs to a second volume of air such as a separate floor or its own AC wing, and you have neither. Keep the register clean, dry and cool rather than floral or powdery; a multi-service centre is the most likely of all to drift into a spa register because the nutrition and wellness side of the brand asks for it, and that is exactly how the gynaecology side starts reading as a salon. Keep one seating area effectively unscented by design and make sure the desk knows which one. This is an ambience decision with no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, working alongside cleaning and ventilation rather than instead of them and never to cover anything, and your clinical judgement overrides this plan inside your own rooms. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and send the plan with every room labelled by service.
Cross off the clinical rooms first - about 1,150 sq ft of 2,000. Consultation rooms take a drift and no device. Roughly 550 sq ft of public space is left, and one Vaayu at ₹11,999 covers all of it. Total: ₹11,999.
For 2,000 sq ft with one public volume, the machine is one SOSA Vaayu - rated to 1000m³ so 550 sq ft of lounge runs it at a low setting, wall or HVAC mountable to hold the public air path, with a key-lock so four service heads cannot each adjust it. ₹11,999, and that is the whole hardware spend.

One machine, four services

The temptation in a multi-service centre is one machine per service. That produces four fragrances meeting in a corridor. Here is what the plate actually needs.

SOSA Vaayu
The whole plan for 2,000 sq ft
SOSA Vaayu
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill. Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, auto-stop and key-lock. Wall or HVAC mountable, so it holds the public air path from the entrance through to the far end of the lounge rather than sitting on one desk.
From ₹11,999
SOSA Sukoon
If your public area is one small reception instead
SOSA Sukoon
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft with three 15ml fragrances included. Where a multi-service centre has grown room by room and the public area is genuinely one small reception under about 750 sq ft, this is the honest buy at ₹1,899 and the corridors are simply left alone.
From ₹1,899
SOSA Vaayu
One profile across four services
SOSA Vaayu
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified - electrical and compliance marks, never medical approvals. Made in India.

How the subtraction is done

Three passes over the plan, in this order. The first two remove rooms; only the third puts anything anywhere.

1
Pass one - cross off every room a patient cannot leave
The test is the room, not the department it belongs to
Go through the plan and mark every room where someone is undressed, lying down, mid-treatment, connected to equipment, giving a sample or waiting on a result. Examination rooms, the scan room, the physiotherapy cabins, the procedure room, sample collection and the changing rooms all go, and so do staff areas and stores. On a 2,000 sq ft four-service plate that is usually around 1,150 sq ft. Notice that the test says nothing about which service owns the room. A pelvic-floor cabin and a gynaecology examination room fail the test in exactly the same way and for exactly the same reason, and neither one gets a reduced version.
Tip: If she is on a table or behind a curtain, the room is off the list. No exceptions.
SOSA Vaayu
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

2
Pass two - put every consulting room on drift only
Friendly is not the same as non-clinical
Nutrition and preventive health feel like the soft, non-medical half of the building, and founders often want them scented as lifestyle spaces. Resist it. A consultation room takes a faint drift from the lounge and never a device of its own, and never a level stronger than the lounge it opens off, because a patient who walks from a light public space into a stronger private one reads the private room as doing something to her. And if the nutrition room weighs people, or the preventive-health room asks anyone to lie down, it belongs in pass one instead. About 300 sq ft of a plate this size usually falls into this category.
Tip: Ask what happens in the room, never which department the sign belongs to.

One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
See SOSA Vaayu →
3
Pass three - scent what is left, once, with one profile
One continuous public volume takes one machine and one fragrance
What survives is entrance, reception, lounge and the public corridor - one body of air of roughly 550 sq ft. One machine, one profile, low setting. Four fragrances for four services is the classic multi-service error and it announces itself at the junction where two corridors meet. A second machine is justified only by a second volume of air - a separate floor, its own AC wing, a sealed suite - never by a second corner of the same lounge. Mount the machine on the entrance-to-lounge path rather than aiming it at the clinical corridor, and engage the key-lock so the level is not adjusted separately by four service heads.

The SOSA principle
A multi-service centre is not four scenting problems, it is one subtraction. Cross off every room a patient cannot walk out of and the plan writes itself, at about a third of the floor plate.
The founders who find this hard are always trying to add fragrance to a building. The ones who find it easy start by taking it away.
SOSA Vaayu
One profile, four services: SOSA Vaayu holding the public air path from entrance to lounge at a single low level. ₹11,999.

The zone map, room by room

The whole 2,000 sq ft plate as a table, with the areas that get nothing listed first because that is the order the decision is made in.

The SOSA plan
A 2,000 sq ft four-service centre, room by room
The area What to do
Gynaecology examination rooms and the scan room, about 380 sq ft
Unscented, always. She is undressed, in a room she cannot leave, and she did not choose the fragrance. No device, no reed, nothing staff bring from home.
Pelvic-floor physiotherapy cabins and the procedure room, about 360 sq ft
Unscented, always. Treated exactly as examination rooms are, because the test is what happens in the room rather than which service owns it.
Sample collection, changing rooms, staff areas and stores, about 410 sq ft
Unscented. Cleaning and ventilation do all the work here, and the chemical store sits outside the scented zone entirely.
Consultation rooms - gynaecology, nutrition, preventive health, about 300 sq ft
Drift only through the door. No machine, and never stronger than the lounge they open off. If anyone lies down in there, the room moves to the list above.
SOSA VaayuEntrance, reception and waiting lounge, about 470 sq ft
The only machine in the building. One Vaayu at ₹11,999, low setting, clinic-hours timer, one seating area kept unscented by design.
Public corridor, about 80 sq ft
Carried from the lounge by the same machine. Never a second unit and never a second fragrance where two corridors meet.

If the multi-service question is really about whether the services should share one identity, that is argued in whether one signature scent can connect multiple women's health services without scenting every room. If the physiotherapy side is the part you are least sure about, start with whether pelvic-floor physiotherapy treatment rooms should have ambient fragrance. And the full method for a new build is in designing an integrated women's health centre from scratch. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel.

SOSA Vaayu
Running well inside its rating: 1000m³ of capacity against roughly 550 sq ft of public space, so it never has to work hard. ₹11,999.
One subtraction, one machine, ₹11,999
SOSA Vaayu covers up to 1000m³ - against roughly 550 sq ft of public space, that is a machine running at the bottom of its range all day.

When a founder sends me a plan for four services, I send it back with most of it crossed out. That crossing out is the work, and it costs nothing.

The SOSA specification for multi-service centres

One machine covers a 2,000 sq ft centre because only about a quarter of the plate is public, and public is the only part that qualifies. The cheaper option below is here because some multi-service centres have grown room by room and genuinely have no lounge at all. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Write the fragrance-free list before the scented one, and apply the same test to every service in the building rather than a softer one to the wellness side. Examination rooms, scan rooms, physiotherapy cabins, procedure and sample rooms are unscented, always; consultation rooms of every service take a drift and never a device; and one seating area is kept effectively unscented by design. Fragrance here is an ambience decision with no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside cleaning and ventilation rather than instead of them and is never used to cover another smell, and your judgement as the treating clinician overrides any plan of mine in your own rooms. Ask for a clinic scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal

The message I get from a founder building a centre like this is usually four questions at once: what for the gynaecology side, what for physio, does nutrition need something warmer, should preventive health feel different. Underneath is the assumption that more services means more scenting. It means less. Every service you add brings its own treatment rooms, and treatment rooms are the part of the building that gets nothing.

So the method is subtraction, and I would do it in front of you with a pencil. Cross off every room where a patient is undressed, lying down, mid-treatment or waiting on a result, and on a plate like yours that is well over half the floor area. Put every consulting room on drift only, whatever the sign on the door says, because a nutrition room being friendlier does not change what a patient is doing in it. What is left is your entrance, your lounge and a corridor, and that is a single body of air. One machine. One fragrance. And keep it clean, dry and cool - a centre with a nutrition and wellness arm is the most likely of all to drift towards a spa register, which is precisely what makes the gynaecology arm read as a salon.

Hardware: one Vaayu at ₹11,999, mounted on the public air path, key-locked so four service heads cannot each have an opinion about the level, on the app timer for opening hours. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one machine. If your public area is really one small reception, buy a Sukoon at ₹1,899 instead and spend nothing further. One seating area stays unscented by design, and any member of staff can switch the machine off in seconds. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

I am building a 2,000 sq ft centre with gynaecology, nutrition, pelvic-floor physiotherapy and preventive-health services - which areas should actually be scented?
Entrance, reception, the waiting lounge and the public corridor, and nothing else. Write the fragrance-free list first: examination and scan rooms, physiotherapy cabins, the procedure room, sample collection, changing rooms, staff areas and stores take roughly 1,150 sq ft off a 2,000 sq ft plate. Consultation rooms take a drift only. One SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 covers what remains. Total hardware spend: Rs 11,999.
Do I need a different machine for each service?
No. Four machines for four services produces four fragrances that meet in a corridor and announce themselves. One machine and one profile covers the entire public area, because that public area is a single continuous body of air. A second machine is justified only by a second volume of air, such as a separate floor or its own air-conditioning wing, and never by a second corner of the same lounge.
Should nutrition and preventive-health rooms be treated as non-clinical?
No. A consultation room is a consultation room whichever service runs it, so those rooms take a faint drift from the lounge and never a device of their own. If anyone is weighed, measured, asked to undress or asked to lie down in there, the room joins the unscented list with the examination rooms. Ask what happens in the room rather than which department the sign belongs to.
Why are physiotherapy cabins unscented if they are not medical examination rooms?
Because the test is what the patient is doing rather than what the room is called. In a pelvic-floor cabin she is undressed or partly undressed, lying down, mid-treatment and unable to leave for a set period, and she did not choose the fragrance. That is exactly the situation the rule exists for, so the cabins are unscented in the same way and to the same degree as the examination rooms.
Is a Vaayu the right size for 2,000 sq ft?
Yes, and comfortably so, because you are not scenting 2,000 sq ft. The public area of a plate this size is usually around 550 sq ft, and the Vaayu is rated to 1000m3, roughly 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, so it runs near the bottom of its range. Its value here is control and mounting rather than power: app timers, adjustable intensity, a key-lock, waterless operation and under 38dB.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the planning advice applies to any brand.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
