Fragrance is the only gift I know of where the recipient's opinion is the only one that counts. A book they do not finish still sat on the shelf. A perfume they do not like is a bottle that goes to the back of a drawer and stays there, and both of you know it. That is the actual problem a set solves, and it is not vagueness or hedging - it is moving the choosing to the person who has to wear it.

But I want to be honest about what a set costs, because most people selling one will not be. Three smaller bottles are not more fragrance than one larger bottle; they are less of each. If you genuinely know what somebody wears - you have seen the bottle, you know the name - then buy more of that, in the biggest size you can afford, and do not let anybody talk you into a set. A discovery set is the right answer to uncertainty. It is not a better answer to certainty.

And one thing about ours specifically.
