At three thousand square feet you cross from a question about capacity into a question about distance, and the two have different answers. Three thousand square feet at a 10 ft ceiling is roughly 279 square metres and about 840 cubic metres, which is still inside the Vaayu's 1000 m³ rating at ₹11,999. The machine can supply that much air. What it cannot do is make the far bedroom of a forty-metre floor plate read exactly like the entrance hall, and any page that tells you otherwise has never stood at the wrong end of a long apartment. There are three honest ways to handle that, they cost ₹11,999, ₹23,998 and ₹11,999 respectively, and the third one is free.
Quick answers — read this first
The arithmetic: 3,000 sq ft ÷ 10.76 = 279 m², × 3 m for a 10 ft ceiling = about 840 m³. That is inside the Vaayu's 1000 m³ rating, so capacity is not the constraint.

The constraint: distance. On a long or L-shaped 3,000 sq ft plan the far end will read lighter than the near end however you arrange one machine, and the honest thing is to say so rather than pretend a rating flattens a floor plate.

The three options: one machine at the entrance and accept a gradient (₹11,999); two machines at opposite ends for a genuinely even result (₹23,998); or one machine plus opening the plan and running the air conditioning, which costs nothing — a running AC is a circulation system, and it is the cheapest distribution you own.
The short answer
Short answer: one Vaayu at ₹11,999 will supply 840 m³ without difficulty, so the question is not whether it is big enough. It is whether your 3,000 sq ft is compact or long. A squarish plan gets an even result from one machine at the entrance. A long or L-shaped plan gets a gradient, and you either accept it, add a second machine at ₹23,998, or let the air conditioning move the air for you.
The pick: one Vaayu at ₹11,999 in the entrance zone, on low, with the internal doors open and the air conditioning running for the two hours before — that combination handles most 3,000 sq ft flats. Two units at ₹23,998 if the plan is a long single corridor or an L with a turn in it. The register stays the Ritz-Carlton-inspired Quiet Luxury, or the 1 Hotels-inspired Forest Suite where the kitchen is open.
Shop: the Vaayu ₹11,999 — waterless, up to 1000 m³, 400ml for about 75 days, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38 dB, auto-stop, key-lock, 0.9 kg. Two units ₹23,998. The Aangan ₹25,999 for 3,000 m³, which is a sales gallery rather than this flat. Hotel Collection 15ml ₹299, 300ml ₹1,799. Free shipping above ₹499.
Straight answer
How do I scent a 3,000 sq ft premium apartment for prospective buyers?
1. Convert the floor area into the unit the machine is actually rated in. Three thousand square feet ÷ 10.76 = 279 m². At a 10 ft ceiling, which is about 3 m, that is 279 × 3 = roughly 840 cubic metres. The Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1000 m³, so the capacity question is answered before you start.

2. Then ask the question that actually decides this: is your 3,000 sq ft compact or long? A squarish plan with a central living volume is one problem. A forty-metre single-loaded corridor with rooms off it, or an L with a turn in the middle, is a completely different one, and the difference is not visible in the square footage at all.

3. If it is long, accept that one machine gives you a gradient. The entrance will read clearly, the middle will read well, and the far bedroom will read lightly. That is not a fault in the machine and it is not fixable by turning it up — turning it up makes the entrance too strong before it makes the far end right.

4. Open the plan and run the air conditioning for those two hours, which costs nothing. A running air conditioner is a circulation system: it takes air in, moves it, and returns it, several times an hour. Doors open plus AC on turns a long flat into something much closer to one circulating volume, and it is by a distance the cheapest distribution you have.

5. If it is still uneven, buy the second machine rather than working the first one harder. Two Vaayu units at ₹23,998, one in the entrance zone and one at the far end, both on low, both running the same scent. That is the only arrangement that gives a genuinely level result across a long plate, and it redeploys to two separate listings later.

6. And do not solve this with the Aangan. At ₹25,999 it is rated to 3,000 m³ and it is built for sales galleries and clubhouses. Putting it in an 840 m³ apartment is buying three and a half times the air you have, and I would rather tell you that than sell it to you.

A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: 3,000 sq ft at a 10 ft ceiling is about 279 m² and 840 m³ — inside the Vaayu's 1000 m³ rating at ₹11,999, but long enough that one machine leaves the far end lighter than the near end. Accept the gradient, spend ₹23,998 on two machines for a level result, or open the internal doors and let the air conditioning do the distribution for nothing.
SOSA Vaayu · one, or two at ₹23,998
Where the second unit starts to be worth ₹11,999
SOSA Vaayu · one, or two at ₹23,998 ₹11,999
Three thousand square feet at 10 ft is roughly 279 m² and about 840 m³ — inside the 1000 m³ rating, and still long enough that the last room is lighter than the first. A rating tells you how much air a machine can supply. It does not tell you how far that air will travel through a corridor with four doorways in it. Two units at ₹23,998, one at each end, is the only arrangement that produces a genuinely even result on a long or L-shaped plan. Both are waterless, both hold a level for hours, both lock, and both fit in a laptop bag when the listing sells.

The gradient nobody will admit to

There is a sentence missing from most of what is written about scenting large apartments, and it is this: one machine in a long flat does not produce the same result at both ends of it. A coverage rating describes how much air a machine can supply with fragrance. It says nothing at all about how far that air will travel through a corridor with four doorways and a right-angle turn in it. At 2,000 sq ft you can usually ignore the difference. At 3,000 you cannot, and at 3,000 the reader is also spending real money and deserves to know what they are buying before they buy it rather than after the first viewing.

1
THE NUMBER
840 cubic metres, and why that is the easy part
Start where the arithmetic is friendly. Three thousand square feet divided by 10.76 is 278.8 square metres. At a 10 ft ceiling of about 3 metres that is roughly 840 cubic metres of air — comfortably inside the Vaayu's rating of up to 1000 m³. If the ceilings are 11 ft, which many premium 3BHK and 4BHK apartments now are, you are at about 920 m³ and still inside it, though with much less headroom and therefore much less scope to run the machine on its lowest setting. At 12 ft you are at roughly 1,000 m³ exactly, which is the point at which I would stop calling one machine comfortable and start calling it adequate. So do the sum with your listing's real ceiling height rather than a standard one, because between 9 ft and 12 ft the same floor plan swings from 750 m³ to 1,000 m³ — a third more air with no change in the brochure. And take out what is not interior: an enclosed balcony that will be open during the viewing is not part of the volume you are scenting, it is a hole in it, and a 3,000 sq ft flat with a 300 sq ft deck open to Worli in December is a smaller sealed space and a larger air-exchange problem than the number suggests. The capacity arithmetic is genuinely easy and it genuinely does settle the machine choice. It is only the distance arithmetic that catches people, and there is no formula for that one.
2
THE HONEST PART
A long floor plate reads lighter at the far end. Always.
So here is the thing I would want said to me if I were spending ₹11,999. A 3,000 sq ft apartment with one machine at the entrance will read strongly at the door, well through the living and dining volume, and lightly in the last room down the corridor — and no arrangement of one machine changes that on a long plan. The reason is not capacity, it is transport. Nebulised fragrance travels on the air movement that already exists in a space, and in a closed flat with the AC off that movement is slow, convective and easily interrupted. Every doorway is a restriction. Every turn in a corridor is a loss. Every closed door is a wall. Over eight metres none of that matters much; over twenty-five metres with two turns it compounds, and what arrives at the end is real but noticeably lighter than what is standing in the hall. The instinct at that point is to turn the machine up, and it is the wrong instinct, because intensity is applied at the source rather than at the destination. Raising the output raises the whole curve: the far bedroom goes from light to acceptable, and the entrance goes from correct to insistent, which is far more damaging at a viewing than a light bedroom ever was. The buyer meets the entrance first, forms their impression there, and an entrance that announces itself has already cost you more than the bedroom could. If the gradient bothers you, the fix is a second source, not a louder one.
The way I would decide between one machine and two, without any equipment at all: walk your listing from the front door to the furthest room and count your paces. Under twenty and squarish, one machine is fine. Over thirty, or an L with a turn in it, buy the second one and stop trying to make the first do something geometry will not let it do.
3
THE FREE OPTION
Open the plan, run the AC, and let the building distribute
And then the option almost nobody considers, which costs nothing and works better than most people expect. An air conditioner is not a cooling device that happens to move air. It is an air-moving device that happens to cool, and while it is running it is the most powerful circulation system in the property. A split unit draws room air across its coil and throws it back out, turning over the air in a room several times an hour. A ducted system does the same thing across the whole flat through a return path. Either way, air that is being actively moved carries whatever is suspended in it, which means a running AC distributes fragrance in exactly the way a still flat does not. So the arrangement is: internal doors open, air conditioning on, machine on low, for the two hours before the viewing. You are not asking one small machine to push scent twenty-five metres down a corridor. You are asking it to supply the return path of a system that is already circulating the whole flat for you. There is a comfort argument for it as well — a premium apartment at the right temperature when the buyer walks in is part of the same presentation — and there is a practical one, which is that you were probably going to run the AC anyway and may as well get the distribution free. Two cautions. Do not stand the machine directly in front of a vent, because a blast of cold air across the output disperses it before it has formed and reads as a weak machine. And if the flat has a ducted system with a filter that has not been touched in a year, clean or replace the filter first, because a dirty return is a smell source of its own and you would simply be circulating it more efficiently.

Three ways to do it, priced

The three honest arrangements for an 840 m³ apartment, with what each actually delivers and what it costs. The fourth and fifth rows are the two answers I am asked about most often and recommend least often, and they are in the table so that the reasons are visible rather than implied.

Three arrangements, priced
What ₹0, ₹11,999 and ₹23,998 buy in a 3,000 sq ft flat
Arrangement Cost What it actually gives you When it is the right call
One Vaayu + doors open + AC running ★ ₹11,999 A near-even result in most compact and moderately spread plans, because the air conditioning is doing the transport rather than the machine The default, and the one to try first. The distribution half of it is free and you were running the AC anyway
Two Vaayu, opposite ends ₹23,998 A genuinely level plate end to end, both on low, both running the same scent. The only arrangement that removes the gradient rather than reducing it A long single corridor, an L-shaped plan with a turn, or a flat you will show forty times. Both units redeploy to other listings later
One Vaayu at the entrance, gradient accepted ₹11,999 A clear entrance, a good middle and a light far end. Honest, unglamorous, and perfectly adequate for a viewing where the buyer spends most of their time in the living volume A tight budget, a flat that is squarish, or a first purchase you intend to move between listings anyway
One Aangan ₹25,999 Up to 3,000 m³ against your 840 — three and a half times the air you have, in a machine designed to be mounted into ducting you probably do not have A sales gallery or a clubhouse. Not this flat, and recommending it here would be overselling
Vaayu + a Sukoon at the far end ₹13,898 Coverage at the far end, and 30–50 ml of water an hour added to a flat that may be closed between viewings. Two different scent behaviours in one property An occupied, air-conditioned flat where the far room is a study somebody uses. Not a closed listing, and not in monsoon
Reed diffusers through the flat from ₹749 each A level that takes 24–72 hours to establish and cannot be adjusted, turned down or turned off before the buyer arrives A listing shown repeatedly over months, where they are genuinely good. Never for a viewing on Saturday

The SOSA principle
A running air conditioner is a circulation system. It is also, at a viewing, the cheapest fragrance distribution in the building — and it is already installed.
Doors open, AC on, machine low, two hours out. You stop asking one small unit to push scent down a corridor and start asking it to supply a loop the flat is already running.

The air conditioner is your distribution system

Start with how to use the air conditioning properly, because this is the part of the page worth the most and it appears nowhere on a specification sheet. Switch the cooling on three hours before the viewing rather than two, and the diffuser at two. The extra hour is for the flat to reach temperature, which matters for its own reasons — a premium apartment that is four degrees too warm when a buyer walks in has already lost something no fragrance recovers — and it also means that when the machine starts, the circulation is established rather than starting alongside it. With a split system, run the units in the main living volume and in the far zone rather than only the one nearest you, and set the fan to a medium speed with the louvres wide rather than aimed at a wall. With a ducted system you are in better shape than anybody else on this page: the return path is a whole-flat circulation loop and the machine only has to reach it. Place the Vaayu a metre or so to the side of a return grille rather than under a supply vent — you want the system to collect the output, not to blow across it. And if the flat has been closed for weeks, run the AC with the windows shut for the first hour with nothing else on, then check the air yourself before you add anything to it. A system that has been standing idle in a humid city can smell of its own drain pan, and that is a fault to fix rather than a background to scent over.

Then the second-machine decision, which I would rather you made on geometry than on budget. Two Vaayu units at ₹23,998 is the arrangement for a long or L-shaped plan, and the reason to buy the second one is evenness rather than strength. Both run on low. Both run the same scent — and this matters more than it sounds, because two different compositions at opposite ends of a flat do not average into a third one, they meet somewhere in the corridor and read as two decisions rather than one property. Put the first in the entrance zone and the second at the far end of the plate, not in the middle: a machine in the middle of a long flat covers ground the first one already reached and leaves the end exactly as light as it was. The economics are also better than they look for anybody working at this level, because neither machine belongs to the flat. At 0.9 kg and 165 × 80.5 × 215 mm each, with a key-lock so they can be left in a vacant property between appointments and an auto-stop if the tank runs dry, the pair is a fixed cost that follows you to the next listing and the one after. Two machines is not two purchases per property. It is one purchase, and after the second or third listing the per-viewing arithmetic stops being a number anybody argues about. The 400ml tanks run about 75 days each, so a listing that takes a season to sell is one fill and no maintenance visits.

Then the free work, which comes first in time even though it comes last on the page, and the line this brand will not cross. The day before: open windows on opposite walls for a real cross-draught rather than one window on one side, water down every drain trap in a flat with three or four bathrooms and a utility, check the fridge and the bins, and walk the property using your nose rather than your eyes. At 3,000 sq ft there are simply more places for a smell to originate — more traps, more shafts, a bigger kitchen, usually a servant's toilet and a utility balcony that nobody has opened in a month — and the free work scales with the size in a way the machine does not. Three hours before: close up, AC on. Two hours: doors open, diffuser on low. Thirty minutes: walk the flat from the front door as the buyer will, and adjust down rather than up. On what not to use — the water-based ultrasonics put 30–50 ml an hour into a space you may be trying to dry, a reed diffuser from ₹749 needs 24 to 72 hours to establish and cannot be dialled down before a buyer arrives, and a candle at ₹379 must be attended, which rules it out of a vacant flat on insurance grounds before we even discuss the smell. SOSA does not make a room spray for the home. And the rule that outranks every other sentence here: if the flat has damp, a leak, a drain fault or smoke damage, none of this applies. Those are material facts about a property. Find them, fix them or disclose them, and scent only a listing that is genuinely sound. Nothing on this page claims fragrance affects an offer, a price or a time on market. It is presentation, alongside photography, styling and lighting.

Turning the machine up does not fix the far end of a long flat. It makes the entrance wrong before it makes the bedroom right, and the buyer meets the entrance first.

Honest notes for buyers: fragrance is the last step in preparing a property, never the first, and it must never be used to cover a defect. Damp, a leak, drains, smoke or anything structural is a material fact about a property: find it, fix it or disclose it. Scent a listing that is genuinely sound. On the machines: the Vaayu at ₹11,999 is waterless cold-air nebulisation — no water, no heat and no dampness — covering up to 1000m³ or roughly 2,000–3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml tank lasting about 75 days, Bluetooth app control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under-38dB running, auto-stop and a key-lock, at 0.9 kg and smaller than a shoebox, so one machine can serve a whole portfolio. The Aangan at ₹25,999 covers up to 3,000m³ for sales galleries and clubhouses. The ultrasonic Sukoon, Boond and Megh are water-based and add 30–50 ml of water an hour to the air, which makes them the wrong choice for a closed or humid vacant property. A reed diffuser needs 24–72 hours to establish, so it suits a listing shown over months rather than a viewing tomorrow. A candle must be attended and put out, which rules it out of an unoccupied property. SOSA does not make a room spray for the home; the sprays in the range are car perfumes. White tea, bergamot and cedar, and if you are running two machines they run the same thing. Two compositions at opposite ends of one flat do not blend into a third. They meet somewhere near the middle and read as two separate decisions, which is precisely the impression a considered property is not supposed to give. Where a 3,000 sq ft plan has a kitchen open to the dining area, the 1 Hotels-inspired Forest Suite — cedarwood, vetiver, green leaves — is the drier option and holds a line beside cooking better. A note from Sonal

I get asked to confirm that one machine covers 3,000 square feet, and the answer is that it covers the air and it does not always cover the distance. Eight hundred and forty cubic metres against a 1000 m³ rating is a comfortable relationship. Twenty-five metres of corridor with two turns in it is a different question entirely, and the specification sheet has nothing to say about it. I would rather write that down than let a realtor discover it at seven o'clock on a Saturday with a buyer at the door and a bedroom at the far end that smells of nothing in particular.

What I actually recommend, and what I have watched work in a lot of long Mumbai and Gurgaon flats, is the arrangement that costs the least. Open the internal doors, run the air conditioning from three hours before, put the machine on low at two hours, and let the building move the air for you. An air conditioner is a circulation system with a cooling coil in it, and using it that way is free. If the plan is genuinely long and you show the flat often, buy the second machine — but buy it for evenness rather than for strength, run both on low, and put the same scent in both. Turning one machine up has never once been the answer, and I have been asked about it more times than I can count.

Everything is made and supported from Pune, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. You get a space that smells like somewhere considered; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.

Frequently asked questions

How many cubic metres is a 3,000 sq ft apartment?
About 840 m³ at a 10 ft ceiling: 3,000 ÷ 10.76 = 279 m², × 3 m = 837. At 11 ft it is roughly 920 m³ and at 12 ft about 1,000 m³. Use your listing's real ceiling height, because between 9 ft and 12 ft the same plan swings by a third with no change in the brochure.
Can one Vaayu cover 3,000 sq ft?
It can supply the air — 840 m³ against a 1000 m³ rating. Whether it covers the flat evenly depends on the shape. A compact plan, yes. A long corridor or an L with a turn will read lighter at the far end, and the fix is a second machine at ₹23,998 rather than turning the first one up.
Does running the air conditioning help distribute fragrance?
Yes, considerably. A running air conditioner turns the air in a space over several times an hour, and air that is being moved carries what is suspended in it. Doors open plus AC on for the two hours before a viewing is the cheapest distribution in the building. Do not stand the machine directly in front of a supply vent.
Should I use two different scents in a large apartment?
No. Two compositions at opposite ends of one flat do not blend into a third — they meet in the corridor and read as two separate decisions. If you run two machines, run the same scent in both, both on the low setting.
Should I buy the Aangan for a 3,000 sq ft flat?
No. The Aangan at ₹25,999 is rated to 3,000 m³ and is built to be mounted into ducted air conditioning in a sales gallery or a clubhouse. Your flat is about 840 m³. Two Vaayu units at ₹23,998 would give a better result for less money and would move between listings afterwards.
