Large or L-shaped room? Two Sukoons rather than one machine working twice as hard.
Diffusing several times a week? A 300ml of the one you settle on at ₹1,799, roughly ₹6 a millilitre.
2. Why the pack rather than a 100ml of one thing. Bought singly the seven 15ml bottles come to ₹2,093, so the pack saves ₹294 — but that is not the argument. The argument is that a frequent host needs a different scent for a Sunday lunch than for a Saturday dinner, and no single bottle covers both.
3. Add a second Sukoon before you add a bigger machine. For a long or L-shaped drawing-dining room, two Sukoons at ₹1,899 each — one at each end — give you even coverage. One machine cranked to eight drops gives you a strong corner and a weak far wall, which is the pattern people read as sprayed.
4. Move to the 300ml once you are diffusing several times a week. The 300ml at ₹1,799 works out at roughly ₹6 a millilitre against about ₹20 for a 15ml. If you run six drops three or four evenings a week, that difference stops being theoretical. Buy it only after a scent has earned it.
5. What not to buy. Not the Vaayu at ₹11,999 or the Aangan at ₹25,999 for this. They are waterless nebulising machines that run neat oil and are not compatible with the water-based Hotel Collection — excellent machines, different system. And never raw essential oils in an ultrasonic.

Why one big bottle is the wrong buy for a household that entertains
The instinct when you use something often is to buy it in bulk, and for detergent that is correct. Fragrance does not work that way, for a reason that has nothing to do with the fragrance. You stop being able to smell a scent you live with. Olfactory adaptation removes a continuous, unchanging smell from awareness within minutes, and over weeks the effect compounds — the blend you chose carefully in March is, by June, simply what your house smells like to everyone who lives in it. The predictable consequence is drop creep. You add one more, then another, chasing an effect that your own nose has retired, and your guests receive a dose nobody in the household has chosen. Rotating between scents interrupts that loop, because change is exactly what the nose is built to report.
The second reason is that a frequent host is not solving one problem. A Sunday lunch with the balcony door open is a different fragrance problem from a Saturday dinner for twelve with the kitchen running; a formal evening in a carpeted room is different again. Matching the scent to the occasion is the single biggest improvement available to somebody who already owns a diffuser, and it costs ₹1,799 rather than a new machine. That is the honest case for the Pack of 7. It is not the cheapest per millilitre — the 300ml at ₹1,799 works out at roughly ₹6 a millilitre and the pack closer to ₹17 — and anyone who says otherwise is selling you something. What it buys is range. Buy the pack, host with it for two months, find out which two or three you reach for, and then buy one of them in 300ml.
Three kits at three budgets
Sukoon 500ml₹1,899Sukoon ₹1,899 + one 15ml at ₹299. If people come over roughly once a month, this is all you need and I would rather you spent the difference on the food. The Sukoon covers a standard drawing room at five to six drops, the remote switches it off from the sofa as the bell rings, and a 15ml gives many fills. Pick the scent by the room: warm and textured, take Warm Welcome; pale and minimal, Quiet Luxury; open kitchen, Forest Suite.Which scent for which evening
The point of owning several is knowing which to reach for. This is how I would allocate the seven across a hosting year — and the starred one is the bottle most frequent hosts eventually buy in 300ml.
| Scent | Notes | Character | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Four Seasons-inspired ★ Warm Welcome |
Citrus · floral · sandalwood | Bright, warm, immediately legible — reads as hospitality | Everyday hosting, family, mixed ages and unfamiliar guests. The one to buy in 300ml |
|
The Ritz-Carlton-inspired Quiet Luxury |
White tea · bergamot · cedar | Even, papery, restrained — polished rather than cosy | Formal drinks, pale minimal rooms, evenings where you want the room to read expensive |
|
1 Hotels-inspired Forest Suite |
Cedarwood · vetiver · green leaves | Dry, green, faintly mineral — no sweetness anywhere in it | Dinners you are cooking, and any flat where the kitchen has no door |
|
The St. Regis-inspired Old-World Glamour |
Amber · violet · woods | Plush amber and powdery violet — rich and formal | Winter evenings in carpeted, curtained rooms; four drops rather than six |
|
W Hotels-inspired Lobby Bar |
Citrus · pepper · amber | Citrus and pepper over amber — bright, adult, evening-shaped | Cocktail evenings and later, standing parties with a bar in them |
| Not in this family, for reference: Westin-inspired White Tea Serenity is the quietest of the seven and belongs to daytime lunches and bright rooms; Shangri-La-inspired Tea Garden is jasmine-led and the one guests are most likely to ask about. See all seven. | |||

Doses, timing, and running two Sukoons
Five to six drops per tank on a Sukoon for a standard drawing room, four for the St. Regis-inspired amber, and six to eight on a Megh if you have gone that route instead of two machines. Run it from thirty to forty-five minutes before the doorbell and switch it off as the first guests arrive — the fragrance peaks about ten minutes after the mist stops, so switching off at the bell gives guests the settled version rather than a working machine in the corner. Set the dose deliberately rather than by feel, because you adapted to your own house some time ago and the nose you are checking with is the least reliable one in the building.
If you are running two Sukoons, place them at opposite ends of the room rather than side by side, put the same scent in both, and use the same dose in each — four to five drops per machine rather than six, because you are covering the volume twice. Two machines with different scents in one open space produce a seam in the middle of the room where the two blends meet, and that seam is precisely the change-as-you-walk effect that makes a room read as scented rather than pleasant. Start them together and switch both off at the door. A second machine also beats a bigger one whenever the shape of the room is the problem rather than its size.
Housekeeping, which matters more when you own seven scents than when you own one. Rinse the tank whenever you change — a trace of the ambered blends will muddy a white tea for two fills, and it is the commonest reason people conclude a new bottle is disappointing. Use filtered water in hard-water cities; scale on the plate dulls the lighter blends first. Keep the bottles out of sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. And never substitute raw essential oils in an ultrasonic — they are too viscous to atomise and will foul the plate. The Vaayu and Aangan are waterless nebulisers running neat oil, a different format entirely.
The machines, and the economics
Two numbers decide the machine question: the shape of the room and how many evenings a week you actually run it. Neither is about how much fragrance you like.

Versailles
The advice I give most often, and the one that costs us the most in a single transaction, is to buy the small sizes first. A frequent host who buys a 300ml of the wrong scent has spent ₹1,799 on something that will sit in a cupboard being resented. The same money in the Pack of 7 buys an education about your own house.
I keep three of the seven in rotation at home in Pune and I did not predict which three. I assumed I would live with the composition I am proudest of. What actually happens is that I reach for whichever one fits the evening, and the one I use most is not the one I would have picked on a blotter. That is the whole argument for the pack, and I would rather make it plainly than dress it up.
So: one Sukoon at ₹1,899 and the Pack of 7 at ₹1,799, host with them for two months, and then buy the winner in 300ml. If you host less often than that, one machine and one 15ml at ₹299 is genuinely enough and I would rather you kept the difference. A portion of what you spend funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.
