What is the closest calming scent to lavender? In the diffuser range, White Tea Serenity - white tea, aloe and cedar - gives that spa-clean, restful feeling, and Tea Garden (jasmine, green tea, white tea) is serene and quiet. Neither is lavender, but both create the same calm-bedroom mood.
Where can I get lavender from SOSA? In formats other than the ultrasonic diffuser: SOSA makes a lavender reed diffuser and a Lavender car/room spray. If you specifically want the lavender note, those are the honest place to find it.
The honest answer on lavender
Lavender is probably the most-requested calming scent in the world, and I would love to tell you we have it in the diffuser. But I will not pretend. SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection does not include a dedicated lavender fragrance. The collection was composed around the styles great hotels are known for - white tea, cedar, amber, jasmine, sandalwood - and lavender simply is not one of those seven. I would rather you knew that up front than bought a bottle expecting a note that is not in it.
So what do I suggest if it is the calm you want? In the diffuser range, two scents create the same restful, spa-like mood even though neither is lavender. White Tea Serenity - my Westin-inspired blend of white tea, aloe and cedar - is soft, clean and soothing, the smell of a spa-quiet bedroom. Tea Garden, my Shangri-La-inspired jasmine, green tea and white tea, is serene and hushed. If you were reaching for lavender to wind down, either of these will give you that settled, calm-bedroom feeling.
If you want lavender specifically, I will not fake it in the diffuser. If you want the calm lavender gives, White Tea Serenity or Tea Garden is my honest closest match.
Where SOSA does offer lavender
Here is the good news, and it is honest: SOSA does make lavender - just not as a water-based diffuser fragrance. If the lavender note itself is what you love, we offer it in other formats. There is a lavender reed diffuser, which gives a flame-free, always-on lavender for a bedside or bathroom, and a Lavender car and room spray for a quick, direct hit of the note in a car or a small space.
| What you want | SOSA answer |
|---|---|
| Calm mood in the ultrasonic diffuser | White Tea Serenity or Tea Garden (closest match) |
| Actual lavender, flame-free, always-on | SOSA lavender reed diffuser |
| Actual lavender, quick and direct | SOSA Lavender car / room spray |
"I will just add my own lavender essential oil to the diffuser." Please do not. Raw lavender essential oil is thick and can clog the ultrasonic misting plate and damage the unit. If you want lavender, use SOSA's reed diffuser or car spray, which are made for the note - not a raw oil in the water tank."
I know it is not the answer some people want, but honesty is the whole point of how I run SOSA. I would rather tell you plainly that the diffuser Hotel Collection has no lavender, point you to the closest calming match, and show you exactly where the real lavender lives, than dress up a white-tea scent as something it is not.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
