Where do I put the diffuser? In or near your entryway, so the scent greets people as they arrive. A larger unit like Megh carries a lobby-style scent through a hall or open-plan space.
Are these the real lobby scents? No. They are hotel-inspired interpretations by a trained perfumer. The hotel names describe the style only; SOSA is not affiliated with the hotels named.
What makes a lobby scent work
The lobby is where a hotel makes its first impression, and scent is doing more of that work than most people realise. Three things make a lobby scent effective: it is confident, it is continuous, and it is welcoming rather than clever.
Confident. A lobby scent is set a touch stronger than a bedroom scent because it has a job: to register the moment you walk in. Not overpowering, but present. In a home entryway you can dial the same confidence with a slightly higher drop count or a larger unit.
Continuous. Lobbies never spray on arrival - the scent is always on, so it reads as the building's character rather than something staged. That is why a diffuser, run steadily, beats an air freshener for this job. Sukoon (16-18 hrs) or Megh (up to 100 hrs) hold a scent all day without a thought.
Two lobby styles cover most tastes. The reassuring one - Quiet Luxury, my Ritz-Carlton-inspired white tea and cedar - feels calm and expensive. The sociable one - Lobby Bar, my W Hotels-inspired citrus, pepper and amber - feels lively and welcoming, lovely when you entertain. Both are interpretations of those styles, not the hotels' own scents.
Welcoming. The point of a lobby scent is that people feel good walking in. It is generous, not showy. Choose a scent you would be happy to greet a guest with, and run it so it is the first thing they notice and the last thing they remember.
Scenting your own entryway
Your entrance or hall is your lobby. Place the diffuser where the air carries towards arriving guests, and match the unit to how much space it needs to fill.
| Space | SOSA diffuser | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Large hall / open plan | Megh (6L) | Big tank, adjustable dial - fills a lobby-sized space all day. |
| Standard entryway | Sukoon (500ml) | 16-18 hrs, timers - confident, continuous welcome. |
| Small foyer / console | Boond (300ml) | Small, tidy - a clean greeting for a compact entrance. |
Each SOSA diffuser is cool mist with auto shut-off and ships with three water-based fragrances. Fill with filtered or RO water, never hot, add a few drops of your lobby scent, and run it low and continuous. As always: use only SOSA's water-based fragrance - raw essential or carrier oils clog the misting plate.
Reality: a spray fades and reads as staged. A diffused scent, always on, is what makes an entrance feel like a real lobby - present, consistent, effortless.
The honest limit, as ever: a lobby diffuser scents your entrance and adds a little cool-mist humidity. It does not purify the air. It is ambience - a wonderful first impression, not an air treatment.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
