There are two questions folded together here and they deserve separate answers. Should you air the car out before you do anything else? Yes, and most people already do it without being told, because an afternoon in an unshaded bay makes the first thirty seconds about the windows and the fan rather than about fragrance. Does the warm cabin change what the fragrance will do? That one has no published answer, and this page is not going to invent one in either direction. What it can do is tell you what the warm cabin changes about you - and it turns out that is where the whole practical difference lives.
The decision behind almost every version of this question, and it is not about the car: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays - three months and more at one a day, fifty days at two. The 12ml hanging is the same price, published at 4 to 6 weeks, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. Nothing here changes with the powertrain.
Quick answers — read this first
Should you ventilate a hot car before using a car perfume? Yes, and the reason is behavioural rather than technical. With the windows down and the fan pushing air out, a press is going into air you are actively removing, so the hand tends to reach for the bottle a second time a minute later. A 10ml is 100 sprays at ₹449 to ₹549, and a doubled habit is the published 50 days at two a day rather than the published three months.
Does a hot cabin make a car fragrance stronger or weaker? SOSA publishes no answer to that, and neither direction is safe to assert. The one heat sentence in the range is that it is formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, which describes how the formula is built. There is no seasonal performance figure published anywhere in the car range.
Does it matter that the car was on a public charger rather than in an ordinary bay? No. SOSA publishes nothing about charging and no powertrain claim of any kind. The bay in the sun is a real variable; the socket at the end of it is not. A petrol hatchback parked in the same open bay for the same afternoon presents you with exactly the same door and the same first thirty seconds.
The short answer
Short answer: Air it out first, then press once. The reason is your own behaviour rather than the product: spraying into a cabin you are still venting tends to become two presses, and two a day is the published 50 days rather than the published 3 months. A SOSA 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays. SOSA publishes no seasonal or temperature performance claim at all.
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
My hatchback is sometimes parked outdoors at a public charging station during hot afternoons - should I ventilate and cool it after returning before adding fragrance?
Yes - and it is worth being precise about why, because the usual explanation is a claim SOSA does not make. Air the car out first. Windows down, doors open for a moment, fan running, and give it the thirty or sixty seconds it takes for the cabin to stop being an oven. Then close up and press the bottle once. The reason is not that heat damages the fragrance or that a cool cabin makes it last longer. SOSA publishes no performance claim about temperature in either direction; the single heat sentence in the range is that it is formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, which describes how the formula is built for Indian conditions and says nothing about how a scent behaves on a May afternoon versus a January one. The reason is about you. Press the bottle while the windows are still down and the fan is at full, and you are putting fragrance into air you are deliberately throwing out - and the near-universal response is a second press a minute later, once the car is shut. That second press is the whole cost.A SOSA 10ml spray is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon and ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze, and it is published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one spray a day, 50 days at two a day. Doubling the press on every hot-afternoon return is exactly the difference between those two published lines. Used in the right order, the published one spray that covers the cabin does what the page says it does, because the fine mist is going into air that is staying put. Two limits. The charger is not a variable - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and publishes nothing about charging, and an open bay in the sun is an open bay whether there is a cable in it or not. And fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, so a car that comes back from a summer of open parking smelling of something new is telling you about the car, not about the bottle. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Windows, fan, thirty seconds, then shut the car and press once. The order is the advice; the temperature is not a claim.
The short version: air it out, shut the car, then press once. A 10ml spray at ₹449 to ₹549 holds 100 sprays - three months and above at one a day, fifty days at two - and the second press on a warm return is what turns the first figure into the second. The 12ml hanging is the same price and runs 4 to 6 weeks with no input from you.
What the open bay actually changes, and what it does not
It helps to separate the half of this question that has a real answer from the half that has none. Three things decide it, and only one of them is about the weather at all.
01
The order of operations
Ventilate, then shut, then press - and the sequence is the entire recommendation
A car that has sat in the open since noon gives you a predictable first minute: door open, windows down, fan up, and a wait. Whatever you do about fragrance belongs on the far side of that minute. This is not a product claim and it is not a physics lesson; it is an observation about what people do with a bottle in their hand. A press into a cabin that is still being vented produces almost nothing you can notice, so the hand goes back to the bottle. A press into a cabin that has been shut for sixty seconds does what the pages say a press does - a fine-mist atomizer, and one spray covers the cabin. Same bottle, same scent, same car, different minute, and one of the two versions quietly consumes twice as much.
Tip: The lever here is the order you do things in, not the product you buy.
02
The heat sentence
Formulated for 45 degrees C is a formulation statement, not a performance curve
This is the most misread line in the car category, so here is the boundary drawn properly. SOSA publishes that the range is formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity. That is a statement about durability of the formula in Indian conditions. It is not a claim that a scent goes further in a hot cabin, and it is not a claim that it fades faster in one either. No seasonal figure exists anywhere in the range, for the sprays or the hangings, and this page refuses to supply one in either direction. If a hot afternoon feels different to you from a cool morning, that is your own observation and a perfectly good reason to change what you do. The number the range does publish is the bottle: a 10ml is 100 sprays, and a bottle going down faster than the published 3 months and above at one a day is the measurable signal that your rate has changed.
03
The bay, not the socket
Open-air parking is the variable; the charging point attached to it is not
Two facts sit inside the phrase 'outdoors at a public charging station', and only the first one belongs in a fragrance decision. Outdoors is real: unshaded parking for three or four hours produces a cabin you have to deal with before you drive, and the routine above exists because of it. The charging point is not real in any sense that touches this. SOSA publishes no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product, makes no powertrain claim, and says nothing about charging anywhere. Park a petrol hatchback in the same bay for the same afternoon and you open the same door onto the same problem. What the stop genuinely adds to your planning is duration - you know roughly how long the car will be shut and empty, and that is a parking fact wearing a cable.
Tip: Sun, yes. Socket, no. They arrived in the same sentence and only one of them counts.
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
The sequence that keeps a bottle on its published rate
Open the doors and drop the windows before you touch anything else.
Run the fan for half a minute while the car empties its warm air.
Shut the car, wait a beat, then press once. One spray covers the cabin.
Do not press again on the same return. That second press is the whole cost.
The SOSA principle
Heat changes the cabin you step into. It does not change the bottle - and the bottle is the only thing in this situation with a published number attached to it.
So the honest advice is a sequence rather than a purchase: air it out, shut it, then press once, and let the bottle tell you in a month whether you stuck to it.
Which scent and which format, for a car that sits in the open
Since the spray and the hanging are the same price scent for scent, an open-air bay does not push you towards a cheaper option - the choice stays about how you want to use the car. On an evening drive out of open parking the bright three get reached for most: Sea Breeze at ₹509, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Lemon at ₹499. The softer end is Jasmine at ₹449 and Lavender at ₹479, with Lavender published as the softest of the nine. The deep end is Sandalwood at ₹479, Vetiver at ₹509 and Oud at ₹509, Oud the deepest published. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only - no hanging version exists for it.
The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to handle the return to an open-air bay, and where each one fails
The option
Who it suits, and where it fails
Vent, shut, then one spray from a 10ml at ₹449 to ₹549
Uses the only lever the situation has - the minute you choose. 100 sprays, three months and above at one a day. It fails if you are in a hurry and will not wait the sixty seconds, in which case you are back to the second press.
Press the bottle as you open the door
Faster, and nobody will tell you it is wrong. It fails on the arithmetic rather than the product: spraying into air you are venting is the habit that turns one press into two, and two a day is the published fifty-day bottle.
A 12ml hanging at the same price, left on the mirror
Asks nothing of you and runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, with the stopper as the strength control. It fails precisely here - the minute this page is about is the one minute it cannot be adjusted for.
Nothing at all until the car is moving
A real option and an underrated one: windows down for the first kilometre, and decide afterwards whether you want anything. It fails only if you wanted the cabin settled before you pulled out of the bay, which is a preference rather than a need.
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
A few published facts worth having before you choose a format. The hanging is refillable - 15ml refills run ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, in a glass bottle, and there is no spray refill, so a 10ml or 50ml is replaced rather than topped up. Orange Blossom has no refill in either form. The whole range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant. The Discovery Set publishes nine fixed combinations, ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine - you pick from the published list rather than assembling one. For a gift, custom label or logo on product is the only branding option: no custom box, no printed sleeve, no insert card.
₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 sprays. Fragrance you decide to have, journey by journey - which is the format that suits a car occupied an hour or two a day.
The same price as the spray, published at 4 to 6 weeks in a refillable glass bottle. The stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler - which is the only strength control SOSA publishes.
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. Nine published combinations and those nine are the whole range - you pick from them, you do not assemble one.
from ₹699
The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.
Nobody needs a temperature claim to know that an afternoon in the open makes the first minute about the windows. The bottle can wait sixty seconds.

The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.
The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin
The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler
₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out
₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs
₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you
₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder
from ₹3,999
The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The honest spec sheet
What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. The Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine. Those nine combinations are the entire set range and none is composed to order.
Refills - 15ml hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill.
The formulation - alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India.
Not published, and therefore never stated here: any difference between a petrol, diesel or electric car; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours; any seasonal performance claim; any shelf life or concentration; any health effect in either direction; any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
Not sure whether you want a spray or a hanging? Tell SOSA on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 four things: how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it. You will get one straight answer rather than a catalogue - including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you do not want to think about it at all. What is not on this page, because SOSA does not publish it: any difference between petrol, diesel and electric cars; any cabin-volume, coverage or scent-throw figure; any evaporation rate; any claim about how a scent is perceived over time; any seasonal performance claim; any shelf life or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity or lead time. What is: 100 sprays in a 10ml and 500 in a 50ml, 4 to 6 weeks for a 12ml hanging, a stopper that adjusts it, alcohol-free and phthalate-free formulations formulated for 45 degrees C and 85 per cent humidity, and 15ml hanging refills from ₹399 with no spray refill at all. A note from Sonal
We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.
What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.
So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.
And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.
Frequently asked questions
Should I cool the car down before spraying a car perfume?
Air it out first, yes, but not because of anything SOSA publishes about heat. The one heat statement in the range is that it is formulated and tested for 45 degrees C and 85 per cent relative humidity, which is about how the formula is built. The practical reason is simpler: spraying into a cabin you are still venting usually leads to a second press, and two a day is 50 days rather than 3 months and above.
Does a car perfume perform differently in summer?
SOSA publishes no seasonal performance figure at all, for the sprays or the hangings, so this page will not claim one in either direction. What is published is the quantity: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, a 50ml is 500 and about a year and more, and a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion. Anything beyond that would be invented.
Does an electric car parked at a charging station need a different approach?
No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim, and nothing about charging. The open bay in the afternoon sun is the real part of the question, and it would read the same for a petrol hatchback parked beside you with no cable attached.
Will the fragrance stop the car smelling of anything else?
No, and it is worth being clear about it. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour. If the car has developed a smell it did not have before, the useful move is to find the source - the mats, the boot, water after the monsoon, the air-conditioning - because a spray adds to what is there rather than taking anything away.
Is the hanging a better idea if the car is parked outdoors for hours?
It costs the same as the spray, so value does not decide it. A 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler, which suits somebody who would rather the decision were already made. The trade is that it cannot be timed, and the return to a warm cabin is entirely a timing question.

The Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set publishes nine combinations, ₹699 to ₹899 for three and ₹2,999 for all nine; those nine are the entire set range and none is composed to order. Hanging refills are 15ml at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents; there is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India. SOSA Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
