"I did not want to smell like perfume. I wanted to smell like I had just showered and put on a clean shirt. Adaa is exactly that — nobody asks what I am wearing, they just say I smell nice."

Direct answer: Adaa, one dab, on dry skin. And here is how the other three behave in Indian heat, ranked honestly - because two of them should not be worn before sundown in May.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA attar for hot weather?Adaa at one dab. It is the only fresh composition in the range and the only one built for daytime heat.
What about the others? Ameeri works at two dabs for daytime functions. Mastani and Nawaab are evening bottles in May, and genuinely so.
What is the dose? One dab in summer against two in winter. Heat raises projection by about a step.
The short answer
Clean is an effect, not a family. It comes from three things together: a bright citrus-green top, no sugar anywhere, and a clean white musk base that reads as skin.
The non-negotiable. No sugar. Sweetness is the single thing that stops a fragrance reading as clean, and it is in most "fresh" bottles. Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free and DPG-free.
SOSA in one line. Alcohol-free, DPG-free, IFRA-compliant attars on a jojoba and Mysore sandalwood base, 6-8 hours on skin, 3ml / 6ml / 12ml, ₹379-₹1,199, hand-blended in Pune.
Start here. For clean, Adaa 3ml at ₹379 - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. It is the only genuinely clean composition I make.
Illustrative only. Clean is an effect rather than a fragrance family: a bright citrus-green opening gives the first impression, and a clean white musk base is what still reads as clean at hour four.
Adaa, at one dab, on dry skin, at the base of the throat. It is the only fresh composition in my range: bergamot and green cardamom over neroli, jasmine sambac and a transparent musk, with no sugar to expand in heat and no alcohol to sting on sweating skin. The honest ranking of the others in a 40°C day: Ameeri at two dabs is fine for a daytime function; Mastani and Nawaab are evening bottles in May and I would not sell either for a hot afternoon.
Short version: Adaa, one dab, dry skin. Two of my four should not be worn before sundown in May.
The straight answer:Adaa, 3ml, ₹379 — one dab, every hot morning.
A direct question about my own range deserves a ranking rather than a pitch, including the bottles I would tell you not to wear.
What "clean" actually means
Clean is not a fragrance family - it is an effect, produced by a specific combination: bright citrus and green materials on top, no sugar anywhere, and a clean white musk base that reads as skin rather than as perfume. Remove any one of those three and the effect collapses.
1
Criterion one
Adaa — the hot-weather bottle. One dab.
The only fresh composition in the range and the one built for this. No sugar to expand, a real anchor under the citrus so it does not vanish at 40°C, and a transparent musk base that behaves on sweating skin. One dab at the base of the throat, on genuinely dry skin, every hot morning.
2
Criterion two
Ameeri — daytime functions, two dabs.
Taif rose over real Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron. Warm rather than fresh, but its warmth comes from material rather than sugar - which is exactly why it holds up at 38°C in a crowded hall where a sweet fragrance would not. Not an everyday summer bottle; a good function one.
Night jasmine, Damask rose, vanilla and tonka. The vanilla and tonka are what make it wrong for a hot afternoon - they expand on warm skin. Superb at nine in the evening, and I would not sell it to you for a daytime brief in summer.
4
Criterion four
Nawaab — after dark, one dab.
White royal oud at 9.5/10. The deepest thing I make and the least suited to a hot afternoon at any dose. In an air-conditioned restaurant at eight in the evening it is excellent; at midday in June it will ruin your afternoon, and that is a concentration rather than a flaw.
5
Criterion five
Clean is a close-range effect - so wear less
A fragrance that fills a room reads as perfume by definition, not as clean skin. The whole clean impression depends on someone noticing it when they are close to you and not before. One dab at the base of the throat is the correct dose, and two is usually the reason a clean scent stopped reading as clean.
The buying checklist
The criteria - and how to check each one yourself
What to look for
Why it matters for a clean scent
How to check
Clean white musk base
This is what still reads as clean at hour four
What is the base note?
No sugar anywhere
Sweetness is what breaks the clean effect
Check for vanilla, tonka, amber
Bright citrus-green top
Gives the first fresh impression
Bergamot, neroli, cardamom?
A real anchor under the citrus
Citrus alone is gone in 40 minutes
What holds the brightness?
Close projection
Clean is a close-range effect
Does it sit near the skin?
Oil base, no alcohol
No sting, no sharp evaporation
Ask: alcohol-free? DPG-free?
Small dose
Over-applying destroys the clean effect
One dab, not two
Stated longevity
Clean should not mean short
Hours on skin, in writing
"Two of my four should not be worn before sundown in May. Saying which is the useful part."

Where SOSA sits - and where another attar might suit you better
A small range means I can tell you which of my own bottles to avoid in a given month. That is worth more to you than four enthusiastic descriptions.
The honest position
One bottle for the heat. Three that are honestly for other hours.
Where I think we earn a place on your shortlist: a composition built and tested in Indian heat, with no sugar and no alcohol, plus a plain ranking of what not to wear when. Where another house might suit you better: a cooling khus or vetiver attar is a great Indian summer tradition and I do not make one.
"Clean means weak." It does not. Clean is about the materials - no sugar, clean musk, bright top - not about strength. A clean fragrance can last eight hours and still read as skin.
✕
"All fresh fragrances smell the same." Most of the cheap ones do, because they lean on the same handful of inexpensive fresh materials. The difference is what sits underneath - real cardamom and neroli, or nothing.
✕
"Clean is boring." Only when it is thin. A clean composition with real material is quietly interesting all day - reviews here are illustrative, not a guarantee.
Buy Adaa in 3ml, wear one dab on dry skin, and leave the rest of my range for the evening until October.
The SOSA attar range
Every attar comes in 3ml (₹379-₹399), 6ml (₹669-₹699) and 12ml (₹1,149-₹1,199). Hot-weather order: Adaa, then Ameeri for functions, with Mastani and Nawaab after dark.
"I just want to smell clean" is the single most common thing anyone says to me, and it is a harder brief than it sounds - because clean is not a fragrance family. It is an effect, and it takes three things at once: a bright citrus-green opening, a clean white musk base that reads as skin rather than as perfume, and no sugar anywhere.
That third condition is why so many bottles sold as fresh do not stay clean. Sweetness is inexpensive and it tests well at a counter, so it finds its way into almost everything - and by hour three you are wearing something that announces itself as perfume rather than as a person who is well-groomed.
Adaa is the only genuinely clean thing I make, and I would rather say that plainly than stretch the word across my whole range. I do not make an aquatic and I do not make a standalone white musk. If those are what you want, buy them from someone who does - and if a clean citrus-green-musk is what you are after, mine is worth your ₹379.
Frequently asked questions
Which SOSA attar smells cleanest?
Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. It is the only genuinely clean composition in the range; Ameeri is warm, Mastani is rich and Nawaab is deep, and I would not sell any of them as fresh. From ₹379.
How much should I apply for a clean effect?
One dab at the base of the throat, on dry skin. Clean is a close-range impression by definition - anything that fills a room is reading as perfume rather than as grooming, and over-applying is the most common way people lose the effect.
How long does a clean attar last on skin?
6-8 hours for the SOSA range, slightly longer on warm or oily skin. The citrus impression fades within the first hour; what remains, and what still reads as clean, is the musk base.
Does "clean" mean the fragrance is weak?
No. Clean is a property of the materials - no sugar, a clean musk base, a bright top - not of the strength. SOSA attars wear 6-8 hours on skin, and the clean effect lasts as long as the scent does because the musk base is what creates it.
Why do so many fresh perfumes smell the same?
Because the inexpensive route to freshness uses a small set of the same synthetic materials, with very little underneath them. The difference between one clean fragrance and another shows up at hour two, not at the counter - so test on skin and wait.
