What buyers ask us about hotel and spa scents
Including the questions where the answer is "we do not make that" and "you cannot put that on your skin"
"I want to smell like a luxury hotel lobby. What do I buy?"
Usually a clean white musk with soft woods. In our range that is Adaa. What we will not do is tell you it reproduces any particular hotel, because it does not and we have no authorisation to try.
Hotel-inspired scent · answered by Sonal Sahani
"Can I wear my reed diffuser oil as a perfume?"
No. Reed oil is assessed for evaporation from a reed in a room, not for leave-on skin application. They are different use cases with different exposure, and we will not sell you one as the other.
Home against skin · answered by Sonal Sahani
"You make a lavender reed diffuser. Do you make a lavender attar?"
No. Evening Calm is Himalayan lavender and chamomile for a room. We do not make a lavender attar, and rather than steer you to something that is not lavender, we will tell you that plainly.
What we do not make · answered by Sonal Sahani
"I want white tea and clean hotel linen on my skin."
We do not make that as an attar. Adaa is the closest thing we have, and it is citrus and jasmine sambac over white musk rather than a linen accord. If linen is the point, we are not your brand for it.
Clean linen · answered by Sonal Sahani
"Which hotel is the Hotel Collection based on?"
It is our own interpretation of a style of hospitality scenting. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel group, and it is an ultrasonic diffuser fragrance for rooms rather than a skin product.
Independence · answered by Sonal Sahani
"Will it last all day like my spray?"
We do not publish hour figures for any fragrance, because how long one seems to last depends on your skin, the weather and how quickly you stop noticing it. An oil-carried attar sits close rather than projecting.

Most of our shortlist pages map a grid onto several products. This one cannot, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. We make exactly one genuinely clean attar, it sits in one cell of the grid, and the useful content here is what to do if your cell is a different one.
Quick answers — read this first
How many clean attars does SOSA make? One. Adaa Rs 379, a white musk accord with bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac. The other three attars are warm orientals by design.

Where does it sit on the grid? Low soapiness and low projection. No aldehydes and no muguet, so nothing soapy, and an oil format that stays close rather than projecting.

What if I want a different cell? High soapiness tolerance with powder opens up Sterling Rs 469 among the solids. Clean with real projection needs an alcohol spray, which is a format we are not offering you here.
The short answer
Short answer: SOSA makes one genuinely clean attar: Adaa Rs 379, which is low-soap and low-projection. For powdery-clean there is Sterling Rs 469 among the solids. For clean with real projection, an alcohol spray is the right format.
The honest limit: no fragrance we sell reproduces any hotel, spa, resort or retail brand's proprietary scent, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any of them. Where we do not make a family, we say so rather than recommending something adjacent.
Home is not skin: reed diffuser oil and the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance are assessed for room use and are not assessed or sold for application to skin. Attars and solid perfumes are the skin products.
Where a hotel-style scent actually lives - and what it is assessed forUltrasonic mist diffuser - water-based Hotel Collection fragrance, room useReed diffuser - its own alcohol-free reed oil, room useAttar or solid perfume - assessed for leave-on skinThe three do not interchangeA scent family can cross between them. A formulation cannot, because the exposure is different.
You can carry a scent family from a room to your skin. You cannot carry a formulation, because a product assessed for evaporating in a room has not been assessed for sitting on you. That distinction is the whole of this guide.
Straight answer
Which clean attar should I buy?
There is one, so this is short. Adaa ₹379 - bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac, white musk accord, in 3ml, 6ml at ₹669 and 12ml at ₹1,149. Where it sits on your grid. Soapiness: low. No aldehydes, no muguet or lily florals, and the musk sits at moderate dosage rather than being pushed, which are the three things that create soapiness. Projection: low. That is partly composition and mostly format, since an oil stays close and throws no cloud. If you want a different cell. Clean but powdery, and you do not mind: Sterling ₹469, a 15g solid built on almond nougat, white amber and powdered musk. Not an attar and not low-soap, but it is the powdery-clean direction if that is your preference. Clean with real projection: we do not have it. An alcohol spray is the format that does projection, and no attar from anyone will give you clean plus reach, because the format trades reach for persistence. Clean and warm rather than clean and cool: Ameeri ₹385 is the nearest, though sandalwood and saffron make it warm rather than clean. +91 96192 18531.
One clean attar: Adaa, low-soap and low-projection. Other cells need another product or another format.
If the brief is clean, quiet and expensive-feeling, the honest starting point in our range is Adaa at ₹379 for 3ml. If it is polished woods, Nawaab at ₹399.
from ₹379

Why this grid collapses to one answer

It is worth saying why a brand would publish a page that reduces to a single product, since the commercial logic looks poor at first glance. The reason is that the alternative is worse for everyone. We could write this page as though Ameeri and Nawaab were clean options at different intensities, describe sandalwood as clean because it is pale in colour and creamy in texture, call saffron bright, and send three people away with warm orientals they did not want. Two of them would be disappointed and one would quietly decide we cannot be trusted about anything else either, which costs more than the sale was worth. Fragrance is a category where a brand's description is almost the entire basis for a first purchase, and a customer who discovers that your descriptions stretch has no way to recalibrate except by not believing any of them. So the honest grid, with one filled cell and three empty ones, is the more valuable page: it loses a sale to someone who wanted projection and keeps the trust of everyone who later asks us whether an attar suits a brief. We would rather be the house that tells you we have one clean attar than the house whose clean range turns out to be a vocabulary choice.

1
Why we publish a one-product grid
A stretched description costs more than a lost sale
We could call sandalwood clean because it is pale and creamy, call saffron bright, and send three people away with warm orientals. Two would be disappointed and one would decide our descriptions cannot be trusted about anything, which is a far more expensive outcome than one lost sale.
Tip: In fragrance, our description is almost the whole basis for a first purchase.
2
Clean with projection is a format question
No attar from anyone will give you both
Projection comes from dispersal and dispersal comes from alcohol. An oil trades reach for persistence and proximity, which is the whole deal of the format. So if clean plus real presence is your brief, the answer is a spray, and that is true of every attar on the market rather than just ours.
3
Start at 3ml regardless
Because clean compositions are judged badly
Clean fragrances are the category most often bought on the opening and regretted on the base. Three millilitres at ₹379 lets you live with the base in your own climate before committing to 12ml at ₹1,149, which is the only reliable way to judge this family.
Tip: The same advice applies to every brand, including the ones with longer clean ranges than ours.
The SOSA principle
We would rather be the house that tells you it has one clean attar than the house whose clean range turns out to be a vocabulary choice.
A customer who finds out your descriptions stretch has no way to recalibrate except by disbelieving all of them.

The one clean attar, and the alternatives

The grid as it honestly stands. Low soap, low projection: Adaa ₹379 - the filled cell, and the only clean attar we make. 3ml at ₹379, 6ml at ₹669, 12ml at ₹1,149. Powdery-clean, low projection: Sterling ₹469 - a 15g solid rather than an attar, built on almond nougat, white amber and powdered musk. Sweeter and dustier than Adaa, and the right answer only if you actively like powder. Clean, moderate projection: empty. We make nothing here. Clean, high projection: empty, and it will stay empty, because an oil cannot do it. If you are willing to move off clean: Ameeri ₹385 for warm and restrained, Nawaab ₹399 for warm and full, or the trio at ₹1,055 in 3ml against ₹1,173 separately, saving ₹118, if you want to explore the warm side properly instead.

The SOSA scent edit
The clean grid, honestly filled
Scent Why it suits the mood
Low soap, low projection Adaa 3ml · ₹379. The only clean attar we make, and the only filled cell on this grid
Powdery-clean, low projection Sterling ₹469, a 15g solid on almond nougat, white amber and powdered musk. Only if you actively like powder
Clean, moderate or high projection Empty, and the high cell will stay empty. Projection comes from alcohol dispersal, which an oil format does not do
Moving off clean entirely Ameeri ₹385 warm and restrained, Nawaab ₹399 warm and full, or the trio at ₹1,055 in 3ml saving ₹118

For the accords this cluster is built on, clean linen, cotton musk, white tea and laundry accords compared. For the format limit behind the empty cells, whether an oil-based attar can smell crisp and airy. And for the office version of the clean brief, clean white musk and fresh aromatic attars for office wear. Ask us anything about the empty cells at +91 96192 18531 and we will say plainly that we do not make them. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What SOSA actually makes

Every SOSA attar and solid perfume is alcohol-free and assessed for leave-on skin application. Our reed diffusers and the Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance are home products and are not assessed for skin. Here is the range with the honest description of each, including the families we do not make at all.

What we actually make, and what each one is for
One genuinely clean attar, two woody ones, two musk-based solids, and a room fragrance that is not for skin
Product Where it sits What it is, honestly From
Adaa attar 3ml The clean one · closest to a hotel lobby Bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and a white musk accord. The only genuinely clean, airy composition in our attar range, and the honest answer to most hotel-inspired requests ₹379
Nawaab attar 3ml Polished woods · expensive interiors White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. For wooden-interior and quiet-luxury requests rather than clean-linen ones ₹399
Ameeri attar 3ml Warm sandalwood · heritage hospitality Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, saffron and soft oudh. Rose inside a warm resinous structure, closest to a grand Indian hotel atmosphere ₹385
Velour solid 15g White musk base · skin-close Toasted almond and whipped cream over a white musk base. Soft and skin-close, and sweeter than a hotel-clean scent, which we would rather say than imply ₹479
Sterling solid 15g Powdered musk · refined Almond nougat and white amber over powdered musk. Refined and velvety, and genuinely powdery, so not for anyone who has told us they dislike powder ₹469
Hotel Collection 15ml Rooms only · never skin Water-based fragrance for ultrasonic mist diffusers. Our own interpretation of hospitality scenting, for air rather than for people ₹299

Attars come in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml: Adaa ₹379 / ₹669 / ₹1,149; Ameeri ₹385 / ₹679 / ₹1,165; Mastani ₹389 / ₹685 / ₹1,179; Nawaab ₹399 / ₹699 / ₹1,199; the three-attar trio ₹1,055 / ₹1,859 / ₹3,189 against ₹1,173 / ₹2,063 / ₹3,543 bought singly. Solid body perfumes are 15g, alcohol-free, from ₹459. What we do not make as a skin fragrance: white tea, clean linen or cotton musk, lavender, vetiver, cedarwood, aquatic or marine, and pine. Several of those exist in our home range and are not assessed for skin. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

"I want to smell like a five-star hotel" is one of my favourite things a customer can say, because it tells me far more than a note list would. It tells me you want clean rather than sweet, quiet rather than loud, and expensive-feeling rather than obviously perfumed. That is a brief I can work with.

It also comes with two things I have to be straight with you about. The first is that I cannot sell you a hotel's scent. Those are proprietary compositions made for specific groups, and anybody offering you a reproduction is either guessing or doing something they should not. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel group. What I can do is work in the same fragrance families and say so honestly.

The second is harder on my own sales. Our home fragrances are not for your skin. Reed oil is assessed for evaporating from a reed in a room. The Hotel Collection is a water-based fragrance for an ultrasonic mist diffuser. Neither has been assessed for leave-on application to a person, and the exposure is completely different. I will not sell you one as the other, however much you like how it smells in your hallway.

And there are things we simply do not make. No lavender attar. No vetiver attar. No white tea, no clean linen, no cedarwood, no aquatic. Several of those scents live in our reed diffusers and stay there. If that is what you came for, I would rather tell you than sell you something adjacent and hope you do not notice. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How many clean attars does SOSA make?
One. Adaa at Rs 379, a white musk accord with bergamot, green cardamom and jasmine sambac. Our other three attars are warm orientals by design, built on sandalwood, saffron, oud, rose and jasmine.
Where does Adaa sit on the grid?
Low soapiness and low projection. It contains no aldehydes and no muguet florals and keeps its musk at moderate dosage, and the oil format stays close to the skin rather than projecting outward.
What if I want clean with real projection?
Then you want an alcohol spray, from us or from anyone. Projection comes from dispersal and dispersal comes from alcohol, so no oil-based attar on the market will give you clean plus reach.
Is there a powdery-clean option?
Sterling at Rs 469, a 15g solid rather than an attar, built on almond nougat, white amber and powdered musk. It is sweeter and dustier than Adaa and is the right answer only if you actively like powder.
Why publish a grid with one answer?
Because the alternative is stretching descriptions. We could call sandalwood clean and saffron bright and sell three warm orientals to people who wanted clean. Two would be disappointed and all three would stop trusting our descriptions.

Formulation and use: SOSA attars are formulated with an oil carrier and no added ethanol, contain no intentionally added DEP, and are assessed as leave-on fine fragrance applied to skin at their actual selling concentration. Supplier IFRA conformity statements, declarable-allergen lists and the finished-product safety assessment are available per product on WhatsApp on +91 96192 18531; formula compositions and percentages are not disclosed. Reed diffuser oil and the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance are assessed for room use and are not assessed or sold for application to skin. SOSA does not describe its products as chemical-free, hypoallergenic or safe for everyone, publishes no longevity or hour figures, and makes no claim to reproduce any hotel, spa, resort or retail brand's proprietary fragrance. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel, hospitality or fashion group. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live collection pages.

General context: Fragrance safety standards set limits by product use category, so a composition assessed for diffusion in a room has not thereby been assessed for leave-on skin exposure. Nothing on this page is medical advice; if your skin reacts to a fragrance, stop using it and speak to a dermatologist.
