Placement in a 3BHK is about zones, not corners: one diffuser per used room, each raised off the floor and set in that room's airflow. Where you put each device matters as much as how many you own.
Quick answers — read this first
Where does each diffuser go? One per room, raised onto a side table or shelf, out of a direct draught but in the room's natural airflow - never on the floor or behind furniture. A Sukoon (₹1,799) per bedroom and living room.

What about the entryway? A diffuser near the front door - or the living room diffuser placed toward the entry - greets guests the moment they step in, exactly as a hotel lobby does. Warm Welcome is the classic entry scent.

Any spot to avoid? Under the AC's direct blast, on the floor, or tucked behind a sofa. Cold draughts scatter the mist and furniture blocks it - both leave the room smelling of nothing.
The short answer
Short answer: Place one diffuser per used room in a 3BHK, each raised off the floor on a side table or shelf, within the room's airflow but out of a direct AC draught - a Sukoon per bedroom and living room, ideally near each room's doorway.
The pick: the SOSA Sukoon (₹1,799) ultrasonic diffuser plus a Hotel Collection scent (from ₹299) is the hotel-at-home starter; a Boond (₹799) suits a small room or desk, and for a large, open-plan or high-humidity space the waterless Vaayu (₹11,999) adds no moisture.

Straight answer
Where should you place ultrasonic diffusers throughout a 3BHK?
1. One device per room, first. Placement only works once each used room has its own Sukoon - no single spot scents the whole flat.

2. Raise every diffuser off the floor. A side table, shelf or console at roughly waist height lets the mist rise and spread instead of pooling low.

3. Find each room's airflow, avoid the draught. Near a doorway or the room's natural circulation, but not under the AC's direct blast, which shreds the mist.

4. Place living-room and entry devices toward the door. So the scent greets you and your guests as you arrive - the hotel-lobby trick.

5. Keep bedside diffusers close but not too close. A metre from the pillow on a nightstand is plenty; you want a hush, not a face-full of mist.

One line: one Sukoon per room, raised off the floor, in the airflow, out of the AC draught - that is 3BHK placement in a sentence.

The rules that make placement work

1
RAISE IT
Off the floor, into the air
Sukoon - the diffuser Sukoon · the diffuser₹1,799 Mist is cool and wants to sink, so a diffuser on the floor scents your ankles and little else. Lift each Sukoon onto a side table, shelf or console at roughly waist to chest height and the micro-mist rises and diffuses across the room as it disperses. In a bedroom that means a nightstand; in the living room a side table or media console; in a study the desk itself. Height is the single biggest placement lever you have.
Tip: Waist-to-chest height beats floor level in every room of the flat.
2
AIRFLOW NOT DRAUGHT
Ride the air, don't fight it
Hotel Collection scents Hotel Collection scentsFrom ₹299 You want each diffuser in the room's gentle natural circulation - near a doorway, in the path air takes as it moves through - but not directly under an AC or a ceiling fan on full. A hard draught tears the mist apart and dumps the fragrance before it spreads, leaving the room oddly scentless. Place the device a little to the side of the AC's throw, where the moving air carries the scent rather than destroying it.
3
ENTRY FIRST
Scent the arrival
Boond - small room Boond · small room₹799 A hotel hits you with its signature the instant the doors open. Recreate that by placing the living-room or hallway diffuser toward the entry, so Warm Welcome or Quiet Luxury greets everyone who walks in. In a 3BHK the entry usually opens onto the living-dining, so one well-placed Sukoon - or a Boond on the console - does double duty as both living-room and welcome scent.
Tip: A Boond by the shoe rack turns your entry into a lobby.

The hotel-at-home kit: one diffuser, seven scents, one small room option
The SOSA principle
Placement is not decoration - a diffuser six inches too low or in the wrong draught can make a full tank read as empty.
Height and airflow before anything else.

The same Sukoon that seems weak on the floor behind a sofa will fill the room from a side table by the door. It was never the machine - it was the spot.

Add just 3-6 drops to the Sukoon's water tank and adjust to taste - a little goes a long way - and rinse the tank when you switch scents so each stays true. These are water-based, ultrasonic-safe fragrances made for SOSA diffusers; do not substitute raw essential or carrier oils, which can clog the misting plate. Frequently asked questions

Should the diffuser go near the door or in the middle of the room?
Near the room's airflow, which in most 3BHK rooms is close to the doorway - that also lets the scent greet you as you enter. Dead-centre on a low coffee table works less well than a raised side table set toward the door and the room's circulation.
Can I put a diffuser right next to my bed?
Yes, on a nightstand about a metre from the pillow - close enough to enjoy, far enough that you get a hush rather than damp mist on your face. A Sukoon on a low, intermittent evening mist is ideal here with White Tea Serenity.
Why does my diffuser seem weak under the AC?
Because the AC's draught scatters the fine mist before it can spread, so the fragrance disperses and drops out fast. Move the Sukoon a little to the side of the direct airflow - in the moving air but not the blast - and the same tank will read far stronger.
Is one entry diffuser enough for the whole flat?
It scents the entry and the room it opens onto, not the bedrooms beyond - those still need their own devices. But a well-placed entry Sukoon or Boond is the highest-impact single placement in a 3BHK, because it owns the first impression.
Does placement matter more than dose?
They work together, but a badly placed diffuser cannot be rescued by more drops - it will only over-scent its own corner. Get the height and airflow right first, then fine-tune the dose between 3 and 6 drops. Placement is the setting that makes the fragrance travel.
Place them right
Raised, in the airflow, toward the door - placement is the free upgrade
Give each room its own Sukoon, set it at the right height and spot, and a single fill will carry the whole evening.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the technique applies to any brand's ultrasonic system.

Facts verified August 2026: An ultrasonic diffuser disperses a water-based fragrance as a cool micro-mist, scenting a room without heat or flame and adding a little humidity. Great hotels use commercial HVAC scenting to create a signature smell; at home the same effect comes from a diffuser plus a hotel-inspired blend. SOSA Sukoon is a 500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser with a 7-colour mood light (₹1,799); Boond is a 300ml mini ultrasonic diffuser (₹799); both run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. The Hotel Collection comes in seven scents (Ritz-Carlton, Westin, 1 Hotels, St. Regis, Shangri-La, Four Seasons and W Hotels styles) in 15ml (₹299), 100ml (₹999) and 300ml (₹1,799), plus 15ml Pack of 7 (₹1,799); dose 3-6 drops per tank, use SOSA diffuser fragrance only (not raw essential/carrier oils), and rinse between scents. For large, open-plan or high-humidity spaces the waterless SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, up to 1000m³) adds no humidity; the Aangan (₹25,999) is a whole-home HVAC system. The scents are SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
