Where Should I Place a Scent Diffuser in a Dermatology Clinic Reception?

On the air path, not in a corner. That single rule solves most of it. A diffuser does not push fragrance across a room; it releases it into whatever air is already moving, and the room's air-conditioning is doing far more work than the machine ever will. So find where conditioned air enters the room and where it returns to the system, and place the machine on that route - typically a few metres inside the entrance, on the run between the door, the desk and the seating. Near a supply grille the fragrance is carried outward evenly; near a return it is drawn through the room on its way back. Both work. A corner behind a plant works for the plant. Do not aim it at the entrance. A clinic door opens every few minutes and the draught is the least stable air in the building - it pulls fragrance straight back out and pushes unconditioned air in, so a machine sitting at the door burns oil producing an effect that is repeatedly erased. Place it just inside that turbulence, where the air settles and starts moving toward the waiting area. Go up. In a small foyer especially, height helps: above eye level, or wall mounted, so the fragrance disperses downward and outward through the room instead of forming a strong pocket at the level of somebody's face. Wall mounting also removes the machine from the visual clutter of a reception, which most clinic owners care about, and takes it off a surface someone might set a coffee on. Keep it away from people. Two groups specifically. Patients - it should be out of reach, particularly of children, and the key-lock matters genuinely here, because a public waiting room is full of people you do not know and a machine within arm's reach is a machine whose settings will eventually change. And your front-desk team, who sit in one spot for ten hours: do not put the machine on or behind the desk, because whatever level is comfortable in the room will be considerably stronger where they are sitting.
