The principle of restraint
Quiet luxury, in clothes or in scent, is about confidence without volume. A loud, sweet room fragrance is the equivalent of a logo-covered jacket. A soft, clean one that you barely register is the cashmere jumper with no label. Both can be expensive; only one reads as taste.
The notes that do this well are dry and pale: white tea for a clean spine, a little bergamot for lift, cedar for a soft, woody floor. Nothing gourmand, nothing fruity, nothing heavy.
Myth: luxury means a powerful scent that fills the house. Reality: the most expensive-feeling homes are the most restrained. You should walk in and feel calm before you can name a smell.
How to get it at home
Keep the dose low. A water-based ultrasonic diffuser lets you run a few drops continuously, which is exactly the soft, always-on level quiet luxury calls for. Burning a strong candle does the opposite - it spikes, then fades.

I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, and the one thing every great hotel taught me is that scent is the first thing you notice and the last thing you forget. I wanted to bottle that feeling for the home.
So the Hotel Collection is seven water-based diffuser fragrances, each my own interpretation of the style a famous hotel is known for - composed in our own lab, made to run cleanly through a SOSA ultrasonic diffuser.
