Two owners of the same hatchback, one on the highway with outside air coming in and one in city traffic with the air-conditioning set to recirculate, will not have the same experience of a car fragrance. That much is obvious. What is not available is a number for it. SOSA publishes no air-exchange figure, no scent-throw distance and no ventilation specification of any kind, so anybody offering you a mechanism - this much air moves through, therefore you need this many presses - is inventing it. What this page can do instead is more useful than a fabricated rule: tell you exactly what to observe, and hand you the one number the range does publish, which is the count on your own bottle.
SOSA Icy Mint car perfume, spray or hanging, from Rs 449
SOSA car perfume · spray or hanging, same price · nine scents from ₹449 →
There is no published figure for how much air moves through a cabin on outside air rather than recirculation, so no honest page can convert your ventilation habit into a number of presses. The instrument you do have is the count. Hold one press a day for a fortnight, note when you reached for the bottle again, and check the level. A 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and holds 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day.
Quick answers — read this first
Does driving with outside air rather than recirculation change how you should use a car fragrance? It changes what you will observe, and no published figure describes it. SOSA publishes no air-exchange rate and no ventilation specification, so no page can honestly tell you how many presses an outside-air cabin takes. What you can do is hold the count steady for a fortnight on each habit and let the bottle record the difference.

How do you compare two ventilation habits fairly? Change one thing at a time and let the arithmetic report. A 10ml spray holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one a day or 50 days at two a day. If one habit has you pressing twice where the other had you pressing once, that is the difference expressed in weeks of bottle - and it is a measurement rather than an impression.

Does a diesel highway car need a different fragrance from a city car? No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim. The real difference between those two owners is a ventilation habit, a journey length and how often the doors open - and those would differ in exactly the same way between two cars with identical engines.
The short answer
Short answer: Treat it as an observation rather than a specification. SOSA publishes no air-exchange rate and no ventilation figure, so no honest page can tell you that outside air requires more presses than recirculation. Hold the count steady for a fortnight on each habit and let the bottle report: a 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, which is 3 months and above at one a day or 50 days at two a day.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 - 100 sprays, held at one press a day for a fortnight so that the bottle, not a guess, tells you what your ventilation habit costs.
Why: No ventilation or air-exchange figure is published anywhere in the range, so the only honest instrument is the count on your own bottle, measured across a fortnight of each habit.
What the car runs on is not the variable. How it is used is.On demand - 10ml spray ₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 spraysContinuous - 12ml hanging, same price, 4 to 6 weeksVentilate a hot or long-shut cabin before you judge itNever - fragrance instead of finding a smell's source
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
Straight answer
My diesel hatchback is mainly a highway vehicle and I frequently drive with outside-air ventilation. How should that differ from a city car kept permanently on AC recirculation?
It differs in what you will observe, and nobody can hand you a figure for it. Start with what is not available, because it saves you money: SOSA publishes no air-exchange rate, no ventilation specification, no scent-throw distance and no projection figure. There is therefore no published rule of the form outside air needs one more press. Any page that gives you one has made it up, and this one will not. What is published is the count, and the count is a genuinely good instrument. A 10ml spray is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze and ₹549 for Mysore Orange Blossom, and each holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day. So here is the method. Hold your ventilation habit as it is, hold the fragrance at one press a day, and run that for a fortnight. Notice two things only: whether you find yourself reaching for the bottle again mid-journey, and how far down the bottle is at the end. If your highway habit has you pressing twice where a city driver presses once, the published arithmetic tells you what that costs - a bottle in 50 days rather than 3 months and above, which is the difference between the two owners stated as a number rather than as a theory. Two more things worth saying. The format choice follows the switch. A driver who is constantly changing the ventilation has a reason to hold a spray, because the spray is the format you decide with; a driver who sets the climate control in January and never touches it again is well served by the 12ml hanging at the same price as the spray, which runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass and whose stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. And the premise: none of this is about the car being diesel, because SOSA publishes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim. Two cars with identical engines and these two habits would differ in exactly the same way. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
No air-exchange figure is published, so stop looking for one. Hold the count for a fortnight and let the bottle report.
The honest answer on ventilation: no air-exchange figure is published, so no page can tell you what your habit costs in presses. Your bottle can. Hold one press a day for a fortnight and watch the level - a 10ml at ₹449 to ₹549 is 100 sprays, 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day.

Three honest things about two different ventilation habits

This question usually gets answered with confident mechanics, and the mechanics are not published anywhere. What follows refuses the invented version and gives you the version you can actually run in your own car. Three things are worth separating.

01
The figure that does not exist
No air-exchange rate, no ventilation specification, nothing
It is worth being blunt, because the invented version is everywhere. SOSA publishes no air-exchange figure, no ventilation specification, no scent-throw distance, no projection radius and no cabin-volume number - not for a hatchback, not for any car. So there is no honest sentence of the form outside air moves this much through the cabin, therefore press twice. What the published disclosure does contain is the count, the hanging's life and the stopper, and this page will build its answer only out of those. Refusing to invent a mechanism is not evasion; it is the reason the rest of the advice can be trusted.
Tip: Where a figure is not published, the honest move is to say so and offer a method instead.
02
The method
Hold one press a day for a fortnight and watch two things
Run your ventilation exactly as you normally would. Hold the fragrance at a single press a day and leave it there for a fortnight, then note two observations. The first: did you reach for the bottle again mid-journey, and on which kind of drive? The second: where is the bottle after two weeks? Those two answers, taken together, are worth more than any rule of thumb, because they are about your car, your route and your habit. Do the same after changing the ventilation habit, if you want the comparison - but change one thing at a time, which is the whole discipline here and the part most people skip.
03
What the difference costs
A habit that needs two presses instead of one is 50 days instead of 3 months and above
This is where the published numbers earn their place. A 10ml holds 100 sprays, and the pages give the working: 3 months and above at one spray a day, 50 days at two a day. So if the outside-air habit genuinely has you pressing twice where the recirculating city driver presses once, the two owners are not having a philosophical disagreement - one is buying roughly twice as many bottles a year, and that is the real, countable difference between them. The 50ml at ₹1,499 is 500 sprays and about a year and more, which becomes the sensible size precisely for the driver whose fortnight of measurement showed a settled high rate. There is no spray refill, so the 50ml is a commitment rather than a top-up.
Tip: Two owners, two habits, one number that tells them apart: how fast the bottle goes down.
SOSA Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray, 10ml and 50ml
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
See Mysore Orange Blossom from ₹549 →
Work it out in this order
A fortnight that settles it, whichever habit you have
  1. Keep your ventilation exactly as it is. Change nothing about how you drive.
  2. Hold the fragrance at one press a day for two full weeks.
  3. Note when you reached for the bottle again, and on which kind of drive.
  4. Check the level. A 10ml is 100 sprays: one a day is 3 months and above.
The SOSA principle
Nobody publishes how much air moves through your cabin, so nobody can tell you how many presses your ventilation habit needs. Your own bottle can, in a fortnight, for free.
Which is the same reason this bank keeps coming back to the count: it is the only instrument in the whole category that belongs to the buyer rather than to the marketing.

Which format suits a switch you keep changing, and which suits one you never touch

Both formats cost the same for the same scent, so the ventilation habit decides the format and taste decides the rest. Sea Breeze at ₹509, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Lemon at ₹499 are the bright end and the usual choice for long open-road driving. Jasmine at ₹449 and Lavender at ₹479 are the soft end, Lavender published as the softest of the range. Sandalwood at ₹479, Vetiver at ₹509 and Oud at ₹509 are the deep end, Oud deepest. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, which matters if your conclusion after the fortnight is that you want the format you do not have to think about.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to handle two ventilation habits, and where each one fails
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
Hold one press a day for a fortnight and observe The only method here that produces information rather than opinion, and it costs nothing beyond patience. It fails if you change the ventilation habit halfway through, because then you have measured two things at once and learned neither.
Add a second press on outside-air runs A reasonable response once the fortnight has shown you reaching for the bottle. It fails on arithmetic if adopted blind: a 10ml is 100 sprays, so two a day is 50 days where one a day is 3 months and above.
A 12ml hanging at the same price, stopper set once Nothing to decide at any point in a journey, 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, and the stopper as the one published adjustment. It fails for a driver who genuinely wants the highway run and the school run to feel different.
The 50ml at ₹1,499 500 sprays and about a year and more, and the right answer for somebody whose measured rate is high and settled. It fails as a first move - you would be buying a year of fragrance before the fortnight has told you anything, and there is no spray refill.
SOSA Lavender car perfume, spray and hanging formats
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
See SOSA car perfumes from ₹449 →

Two closing practicalities. 15ml refills exist for the hanging at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents in a refillable glass bottle, with no spray refill at all and no refill of any kind for Orange Blossom. And the range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity - which is a statement about the product being stable in an Indian car park, and not a claim that a scent behaves differently on a hot day than on a cool one. No such claim is published, and a page that offered you one would be doing the same thing as the air-exchange figure this page refused to invent.

The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.

One message, one honest recommendation
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.

Nobody publishes how much air moves through a cabin, which is why the most honest instrument in this category is how quickly your own bottle goes down.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.

The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
Product What it is What it is for Price
SOSA car perfume spray - 10ml Fragrance you switch on ₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin from ₹449
SOSA car hanging - 12ml Fragrance that simply runs The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler from ₹449
SOSA car perfume spray - 50ml The long-run size ₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out ₹1,499
Car perfume combos Two scents, one purchase ₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs from ₹899
Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set Three to try ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays, or ₹2,999 for all nine. Nine published combinations, and those nine are the whole range - none is composed to order from ₹699
Hanging refills - 15ml Only the hanging refills ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you from ₹399
SOSA Safar The powered option ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder from ₹3,999

The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Nine scents, two formats, one price each - Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Each is sold as a spray or a hanging at the same price. Mysore Orange Blossom is ₹549 and is spray only.
  • The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
  • The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
  • Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. The Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine. Those nine combinations are the entire set range and none is composed to order.
  • Refills - 15ml hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill.
  • The formulation - alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any difference between a petrol, diesel or electric car; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours; any seasonal performance claim; any shelf life or concentration; any health effect in either direction; any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. A note from Sonal

We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.

What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.

So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.

And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.

Frequently asked questions

Does outside-air ventilation mean I need more car perfume than a city driver on recirculation?
No published figure says so. SOSA publishes no air-exchange rate, no ventilation specification and no scent-throw distance, so any rule of that shape has been invented. Measure it instead: hold one press a day for a fortnight and note whether you reach for the bottle again and how far down it has gone.
How do I compare my ventilation habit fairly against somebody else's?
Use the count, because it is the one number that is published and it belongs to you. A 10ml spray holds 100 sprays, given as 3 months and above at one a day or 50 days at two a day. If one habit has you pressing twice where another has you pressing once, that is the difference stated in weeks of bottle rather than in theory.
Does a diesel highway car need a different fragrance from a petrol city car?
No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim at all. The genuine differences between those two drivers are journey length, how often the doors open, how many hours anybody is inside and which way the ventilation is set - and every one of those would apply just as much to two cars with identical engines.
Would the hanging be better for a highway driver?
It is better for a driver who does not want to make a decision on the move, which many highway drivers are. A 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, costs the same as the spray for the same scent, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. What it cannot do is make one particular journey different from another.
Should I buy the 50ml if I drive long distances every day?
Only after a fortnight of measuring. The 50ml is Rs 1,499 and holds 500 sprays at about a year and more, which is excellent value for a settled high rate and premature before you know yours. There is no spray refill, so it is a year-long commitment to a routine rather than a top-up, and the 10ml at 100 sprays is the cheaper way to find out.

What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
