One Scent Machine or Multiple Zones for a 1,500 Sq Ft Women's Wellness Centre?

One machine, and the money you were going to spend on the second one should go into where the first one is mounted. Here is the reasoning, because the instinct to buy two is entirely understandable. Start with the subtraction: a 1,500 sq ft centre with four or five consultation rooms, an examination room, a treatment or scan room and the usual back-of-house leaves a public zone - entrance, desk, waiting and corridor - of roughly 450 to 500 sq ft, which at a 10 ft ceiling is about 130m³ of air. One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1000m³. You are not short of machine. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one unit, for the whole centre. So why does the far end of the waiting area sometimes feel like nothing is happening? Because fragrance moves on moving air and nothing else. It does not radiate outward from a machine like light from a lamp - it goes where the air goes, and if the far corner sits in still air behind a partition, it will stay quiet whatever you put into the room. Now think about what a second machine does in that situation. It is in the same volume of air as the first, so it does not create a second zone; it creates a louder patch near itself, and two levels that drift apart within a month because nobody ever sets two dials the same way twice. Six months later you have a centre that smells different at each end, which reads worse to a patient walking through than a centre that smells of nothing much. A second machine belongs to a second volume of air - a separate floor, its own air-conditioning wing, a suite behind a door that actually shuts - and a 1,500 sq ft plate on one AC system almost never has one. The fix is placement. Put the single machine where the air already moves: on the supply side of the air conditioning, high on the wall at the mouth of the corridor, or facing the door people walk through. Not behind the counter, not under the desk, not in the corner that feels tidiest. The Vaayu wall-mounts or goes onto the air handling, which is the entire reason it can serve a corridor with closed cabins off it while a counter-top unit cannot. What goes into the ductwork, and whether your system's static pressure and filtration will take it, is a decision for your HVAC engineer rather than for me, and I will hand that over rather than guess. Then walk the far end yourself, first thing, having come in from outside. If it now registers as a faintly clean room, you are finished. If it still does not, the honest answer is often that the far corner is not a scented zone and does not need to be - a waiting area does not have to be uniform to be considered. And nothing about the rest changes at this size: examination, scan, procedure and treatment rooms are unscented, always, because the patient is undressed in a room she cannot leave and she did not choose the fragrance; consultation rooms take a faint drift and never a unit; one seat stays unscented by design and the front desk knows which one; and any member of staff can switch the machine off in seconds. This is an ambience decision with no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside cleaning and ventilation rather than instead of them and never covers another smell, and your judgement as the treating clinician overrides any of it in your own rooms. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and mark the supply grilles on the plan before you mark anything else.
