Founder Diaries · Reed Diffuser & Home Fragrance Gifting
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 11 min read Updated September 2026
The unit price is not your problem. Your problem is variant count multiplied by branches with uneven volumes, and that number rises much faster than anyone expects. One gift held centrally and pushed out to outlets works well as long as you make one decision early and hold to it: how many versions of the thing exist. A hanging car perfume is a reasonable candidate because the whole range sits in a sixty-rupee band from ₹449 to ₹509, so which variant a branch receives is not a budget question. Be aware of one honest gap before you plan a central holding around it: SOSA publishes no case pack, no carton size and no unit weight, so your central point has to work out its own handling unit when the first consignment lands.
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 499
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume · 12ml · mild scent-throw ₹499 →
Half of the standing pair most multi-outlet programmes should settle on. SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, ₹499 for 12ml - available as the mild hanging or the stronger spray at exactly the same ₹499. It is the straightforward citrus in the range and one of the two least likely to be disliked by a customer who was never asked which scent they wanted.
Quick answers — read this first
What should I consider for one customer gift held centrally across several outlets? Variant count first, unit price second. Every scent you carry multiplies by every branch, and branches with uneven volumes drain different variants at different rates. A hanging car perfume at ₹449 to ₹509 suits this because the whole range sits in a sixty-rupee band, so branch assortment is not a cost decision.

How many scents should a multi-branch programme carry? Two, in most cases, and the same two everywhere. Two scents across five outlets is ten lines to watch. Eight scents across five outlets is forty, and no customer benefit corresponds to the extra thirty. Lemon at ₹499 and Icy Mint at ₹489 are the least likely to be disliked by someone who did not choose.

What does SOSA not publish that a central holding point needs? Quite a lot, and it is better to know now. There is no published case pack, no carton size, no unit weight and no lead time. Your central point counts what arrives and defines its own branch pack from that. Anything commercial is settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than printed on a page.
The short answer
Short answer: Decide variant count before anything else, because scents multiply by branches. Two scents across five outlets is ten lines; eight is forty. Hanging car perfumes run Rs 449 to Rs 509, a sixty-rupee band, so assortment is not a budget call. SOSA publishes no case pack or unit weight.
The pick: Two scents, the same two at every outlet: ₹499 Lemon and ₹489 Icy Mint, both mild hangings.
Why: An identical assortment everywhere removes branch-level choice, which is where the administrative cost of a multi-outlet programme actually sits, and the price band is too narrow for the choice to matter financially.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
I manage multiple automotive service outlets and need one inexpensive customer gift held centrally and distributed across branches. What should I consider?
Consider three things, in this order, and note that unit price is not one of them. First, variant count. Whatever you choose, the real work is not buying it, it is the number of distinct lines your central point has to watch multiplied by the number of outlets drawing on them. Two scents across five branches is ten lines. Eight scents across five branches is forty lines, and there is no customer-visible benefit attached to the extra thirty. Second, uneven branch volumes. A branch turning over twelve cars a month and a branch turning over sixty will empty different variants at completely different rates, so an identical allocation to both is wrong within a fortnight. The fix is not a cleverer allocation formula, it is fewer variants - with two scents, a branch that runs low on one can be topped up without anybody having to think. Third, and this is the honest limitation: SOSA publishes nothing about how the product is packed. There is no published case pack, no carton size, no unit weight and no lead time. That is not a reason to rule it out, but it does mean your central point cannot plan a shelf or a branch pack in advance - it counts what arrives, decides its own handling unit on receipt, and settles anything about quantities on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. On the product itself: hanging car perfumes are Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. The whole band is sixty rupees wide, which is the single most useful fact for a multi-branch programme: it means the assortment question is administrative rather than financial. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Multi-branch gifting does not fail on price. It fails on the day somebody at a branch asks for a specific variant and a person at the centre has to go and find out whether that is possible. Fewer variants, no requests.
The multi-outlet default: two mild hangings, the same two at every branch, from the ₹449 to ₹509 list. A sixty-rupee band means assortment is never a budget argument.

Three decisions that make or break a centrally held gift across branches

A gift programme across outlets is a logistics question wearing a marketing costume. The product choice matters far less than three structural decisions, and getting those wrong is what turns a good idea into a quarterly irritation for whoever runs the central point.

1
The first variable
Variant count is the cost, not unit price
Run the arithmetic on effort rather than money. Every distinct variant you carry has to be counted at the centre, counted again at each branch, requested when a branch runs low, and reconciled when somebody miscounts. That work does not scale with how much you spend, it scales with how many different things exist.

Two scents across five outlets gives you ten branch-variant combinations. Three scents gives fifteen. All eight gives forty. The customer experience is identical in all three cases, because no individual customer sees your range - they see one bottle in one car. The only person who experiences the difference is the person at the central point reconciling counts, and they experience it badly.

There is a second-order effect worth naming. The more variants exist, the more likely a branch manager is to develop a preference and start asking for it. Once one branch is requesting Sandalwood specifically, you no longer have a central programme, you have five small ones. Two scents, identical everywhere, removes the conversation entirely because there is nothing to ask for.
Tip: Two scents across five outlets is ten lines to watch. Eight scents is forty, for no customer benefit.
2
The second variable
Uneven branch volumes, and why allocation formulas do not fix them
The branch doing sixty cars a month and the branch doing twelve are not running the same programme, and an equal allocation to both is wrong almost immediately. The usual instinct is to build a weighted allocation: send more to the busy outlet, less to the quiet one, adjust monthly. That works on a spreadsheet and fails in practice, because branch volumes move for reasons nobody predicts - a festival week, a road closure, a service camp, one large fleet customer.

The robust answer is not a better formula. It is reducing the number of things that can run out. With one or two variants, a low branch is a single top-up with no decision attached to it. With eight, a low branch is a partial shortage in three variants and a surplus in two, and somebody has to decide what to do about that every single month.

There is a reasonable middle path if your outlets genuinely differ in character: carry Lemon at ₹499 and Icy Mint at ₹489 as the standing pair everywhere, and let the centre hold a small quantity of one third scent for the occasional large job at any branch. That keeps the standing programme at two lines and puts the exception in exactly one place instead of five.
3
The third variable
What SOSA does not publish, and what you have to determine yourself
Be clear-eyed about this before you present the plan internally, because it will be the first question a procurement colleague asks. SOSA publishes retail prices and a WhatsApp number, and nothing else at all. There is no case pack and no carton size, no unit weight and no lead time, no minimum order quantity, no bulk rate and no volume slab. None of it exists on a page, which means no figure you have seen quoted anywhere is authoritative.

What that changes practically is smaller than it sounds, but it is real. Your central point cannot design a shelf, a branch pack or an internal handling unit in advance. It counts what actually arrives, decides from that how many go into a branch consignment, and writes its own internal standard. Plenty of businesses already do this for every line they hold; it is only inconvenient if you were expecting to plan it on paper first.

What it does mean is that you should not commit to a date for a launch, a camp or a festival window until you have had the conversation. Bulk orders are welcome, and the quantities, the labelling and the timing are all settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than being printed here for you to plan against.
Tip: Count what arrives, define your own branch pack from it, and settle timing before you commit to a date.
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 499
The decision this whole category turns on
Hanging or spray is a scent-throw choice, not a budget choice
Every SOSA car scent is sold in two formats at the same price: the hanging is the mild scent-throw, the spray is the stronger one. Jasmine is ₹449 either way, Lemon ₹499 either way, Oud ₹509 either way. So the question is never which one you can afford - it is who controls the dose. Hand a car to somebody whose taste you have never asked about and the mild hanging is the safer object, because a person who finds a sealed car too loud cannot turn a scent down, only take it out.

Work it out in this order
How to structure a centrally held gift across outlets
  1. Fix variant count first. Two scents everywhere, identical, before anything else.
  2. Do not build a weighted allocation. Fewer lines beats a cleverer formula.
  3. Hold any third scent only at the centre, for occasional large jobs at any branch.
  4. Count the first consignment, set your own branch pack, then settle timing.
The SOSA principle
A multi-outlet gifting programme is judged by branch managers on exactly one thing: how often they have to ask the centre for something. Every variant you add is another reason for that call to happen.
That is why the right question is not which scent your customers would prefer. It is how few scents your programme can run on before anybody notices, and the honest answer in a car is usually two.

How many scents a multi-branch programme should carry

Eight scents exist in the hanging format and the whole band is sixty rupees wide, from Jasmine at ₹449 through Sandalwood and Lavender at ₹479, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Lemon at ₹499 to Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at ₹509. For a multi-outlet programme that narrowness is the most useful property in the range, because it means nobody at any branch can argue that a different scent would be cheaper. Choose on character instead. Icy Mint and Lemon are the two least likely to be disliked by a customer who did not choose them, which is what you want when the same object is going into hundreds of cars nobody asked about. Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver carry the strongest character and are therefore the wrong things to standardise on. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 sits outside the hanging format altogether - it is a spray only, and it is the single car product that publishes duration figures.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to run one gift across several outlets
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
One scent, identical everywhere · the simplest Five branch-variant lines become five. Nothing to allocate, nothing to request, nothing to reconcile beyond a single count. The weakness is that one scent in every car for a year gives you no room at all if a branch or a customer segment reacts badly to it, and you find that out slowly.
Two scents, identical everywhere · the recommended default Ten lines across five outlets, one top-up decision when a branch runs low, and no branch has anything to request because every branch holds the same two. It fails only if someone at the centre later starts letting individual outlets vary their pair, which reintroduces every problem it solved.
A branch-chosen assortment · the popular mistake Feels respectful of local judgement and produces the worst administrative outcome available. Branches diverge, requests start, the centre becomes a service desk, and the customer sees no difference whatsoever because no customer ever compares two branches' gifts.
All eight scents everywhere · the maximalist option Forty lines across five outlets, uneven drain on every one of them, and a counter conversation at each branch about which scent the customer would like. Defensible only if letting the customer choose is itself the point of your programme, which in a service outlet it very rarely is.
SOSA car hanging freshener refills, 15ml, from Rs 399
What happens after the gift
The 15ml refill is bigger than the 12ml bottle and costs less than a new unit
Refills run ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud - against ₹449 to ₹509 for the unit itself. This matters for one honest reason and not the flattering one: a gift that can be continued without being sold to is a different object from a gift that simply runs out. Whether anybody continues it is up to them, and no supplier can promise you they will.
See the 15ml refills →

One more line item to be deliberate about. SOSA publishes 15ml refills at ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud, and the refill is larger than the 12ml bottle while costing less than a new unit. That is a genuinely good thing for a customer to discover on their own. It is a poor thing to add to a multi-branch programme, because the refill has its own eight variants, so putting it into branch holdings doubles your line count for a product the customer can simply buy themselves. If you want the mechanism available, point at it rather than carrying it - the refills exist on the same collection page as the bottles, and nothing about a customer buying one requires anything from your outlets.

SOSA Safar ₹3,999 for a car, SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 for the building it is parked at
Safar is the waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion perfume diffuser for a car or a travel bag - ₹3,999 for the SOSA-scent trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios. It is not a volume gift and should not be described as one; it is what a business reaches for when a single handover genuinely warrants it. Vaayu is the same waterless idea sized for a building: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks - which makes it a showroom or workshop question rather than a gifting one. Both run waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm, and neither takes the ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection bottle. No runtime, battery life or coverage figure is published for Safar. Both add a scent to a space; neither removes one.

The temptation in a multi-branch programme is always to offer more choice, because choice sounds generous. In practice choice is a cost paid entirely by the person at the centre, for a benefit no individual customer is in a position to notice.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

SOSA attars Alcohol-free roll-on oil Worn rather than driven, and a taste decision - only when somebody can name what the recipient already wears from ₹379

Every price above is the published retail price on the live SOSA product page, which is what any business should build its own arithmetic on. SOSA does not publish a bulk rate, a minimum order quantity, a slab, a dispatch window or any commercial term, and nothing on this page should be read as one. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; quantities and everything commercial are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than priced on a page. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune and sends orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

The honest price sheet
What SOSA publishes, and what SOSA does not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Hanging car perfumes, 12ml - Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Eight scents in the hanging format.
  • The same scents as sprays, at the same price. Hanging is the mild scent-throw, spray is the stronger one, and they cost the same - so the choice is about who controls the dose, not about money. Mysore Orange Blossom ₹549 is a spray only and has no hanging format.
  • Refills, 15ml - ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud. Larger than the 12ml bottle, and cheaper than buying a new unit.
  • Combos and sets - two-scent combos ₹899 to ₹949, the Discovery Set of three sprays ₹699 to ₹899, all nine sprays ₹2,999, and 50ml sprays ₹1,499. SOSA Safar ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.
  • Duration - the only car product publishing a figure is Mysore Orange Blossom: 10ml is about 100 sprays lasting about 3 months, 50ml is about 500 sprays lasting about a year or more. Those numbers belong to that spray and to nothing else. No duration is published for the hanging format.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount; any dispatch, delivery or cut-off timing; any payment, invoicing or credit term; case packs, carton sizes or unit weights; any claim that a gift will change a customer's behaviour, a survey score or a repeat rate; and any claim that a fragrance removes, neutralises or purifies anything. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The businesses that write to SOSA about car fragrance almost never open with a question about fragrance. They open with a question about a drawer. Somebody ordered five hundred of something last year, and most of it is still sitting in a drawer at the back of the showroom, and nobody wants to repeat that.

What makes a car product different from the keychain and the diary is not that it is nicer. It is that there is nowhere to put it away. A hanging perfume is hanging. It is not in a bag to be taken home and forgotten; it is in the one enclosed space the person is going to sit in tomorrow morning. That is an argument about geometry rather than about generosity, and it is the only argument for this category I am willing to make.

The thing I would push back on hardest is the instinct to buy the strongest one. When you are choosing on somebody else's behalf, and you will never meet most of them, the mild hanging is the correct choice and it costs exactly the same as the spray. A person who finds a scent too loud in a sealed car cannot turn it down; they can only take it out. Quiet is what lets a gift survive contact with a stranger's taste.

And the part I will not pretend about: I cannot tell you this will bring anyone back. No fragrance house can honestly tell a business what a gift will do to its numbers. What I can tell you is what the product is, what it costs, and what happens when somebody likes it enough to buy the refill themselves - which is the only loyalty any of us actually earns.

Frequently asked questions

What should I consider first for a gift held centrally across several service outlets?
Variant count, before price. Every variant multiplies by every outlet, so two scents across five branches is ten lines to watch while eight scents is forty, with no difference any individual customer can perceive. Hanging car perfumes help here because the whole range runs Rs 449 to Rs 509, a sixty-rupee band, so the assortment decision is administrative rather than financial.
How do we handle branches with very uneven volumes?
Not with a weighted allocation formula, which looks right on a spreadsheet and breaks the first time a branch has an unusual month. Reduce the number of things that can run low instead. With two identical scents everywhere, a quiet branch and a busy branch both need the same simple top-up and neither has anything to request from the centre.
Does SOSA publish packing information a central point would need?
No. There is no published case pack, no carton size, no unit weight and no lead time, so any such figure you see quoted elsewhere is not from SOSA. A central point counts the first consignment, defines its own internal branch pack from what actually arrives, and settles quantities and timing on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 before committing to a launch date.
Which scents make sense as the standing pair across outlets?
Icy Mint at Rs 489 and Lemon at Rs 499 are the two least likely to be disliked by a customer who did not choose them, which is the relevant test when the same object goes into hundreds of cars. Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at Rs 509 have the strongest character in the range, which makes them excellent self-purchases and poor choices to standardise on.
Can the label carry our group logo, and what about quantities across branches?
A custom label or logo on product is available and that is the whole branding offer - there is no printed sleeve, no insert card and no wrapping service. On the commercial side nothing at all is published: no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no slab and no lead time. Bulk orders are welcome and everything to do with quantity is discussed on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.

About commercial terms: the prices above are published retail prices. SOSA does not publish a bulk rate, a minimum order quantity, a volume slab or discount, a dispatch or delivery window, an order cut-off, a payment or credit term, a rate card, a case pack, a carton size or a unit weight, and none is stated anywhere on this page; bulk orders are welcome and are discussed on WhatsApp. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product - there is no custom box, printed sleeve, insert card, gift wrap or hamper service. There is no dealer, partner or reseller programme. About SOSA's location: SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, and sends orders across India. SOSA has no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru or any other city, and nothing on this page should be read as claiming one; where a city is named, it refers to the businesses and the cars in that city and nothing more. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim, nor any claim about being suitable for children, pets or any medical condition. No claim is made anywhere on this page about what a gift will do to a business result - not to a satisfaction or survey score, not to repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall. Those outcomes depend on the business and not on a fragrance, and no fragrance house can honestly promise them. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel. No duration is published or implied for the hanging format. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
