Which two should I ignore? Amber and vanilla. Both appear constantly in luxury-aiming descriptions and both push a composition towards sweetness, which is the single strongest signal of inexpensiveness in fragrance.
How do the SOSA attars compare? Adaa has musk, jasmine and bergamot and no sandalwood or oud. Nawaab has sandalwood, saffron and oud. Ameeri has sandalwood, saffron and soft oud with rose. Mastani has jasmine and oud at full floral weight.
Six notes worth comparing, and two worth ignoring
Saffron deserves a paragraph of its own, because it is the note that makes this specifically an Indian luxury question rather than a generic one, and most buyers have no idea what it actually does. Saffron in perfumery is leathery, slightly medicinal, faintly sweet and extremely diffusive, and at low levels it produces a distinctive golden lift that makes everything around it feel more expensive. It is also one of the most recognisable notes in modern Middle Eastern and Indian perfumery, which means it carries cultural specificity: a composition with noticeable saffron reads as belonging somewhere, in a way that a clean international musk does not. That makes it a feature or a problem depending on your brief. If you want the atmosphere of a grand Indian hotel, saffron is central and you should look for it. If you want the anonymous international lobby, saffron works against you, because it is the opposite of anonymous. Both of our saffron-containing attars sit in the first category for exactly that reason. The other note worth understanding properly is oud, because it is the one most likely to make a purchase go wrong. Oud at low levels adds depth and a dry woody complexity that is genuinely elegant. At higher levels it becomes the subject of the fragrance and dominates everything, and a lobby brief cannot survive that. So the useful question about oud is never whether it is present but whether it leads, and that is a question any formulating brand can answer in one word.
How our four compare on the six
Our four compared on the six, so you can read across rather than guess. Adaa ₹379: white musk yes, bergamot yes, jasmine yes and transparent, sandalwood no, saffron no, oud no. The most anonymous and the most international of the four. Nawaab ₹399: sandalwood yes, saffron yes, oud yes and leading, musk no, jasmine no, bergamot no. The most specific and the heaviest. Ameeri ₹385: sandalwood yes, saffron yes, oud yes but soft, rose rather than jasmine. Both sides at once. Mastani ₹389: jasmine yes at full weight, oud yes, rose yes, no musk lead and no bergamot. The most floral.

For the proportion rather than the note list, which combinations of white musk, woods and soft florals to consider, since proportion matters more than presence. For the two traditions this sits between, attar profiles that evoke grand Indian heritage hotel elegance. What SOSA actually makes
Every SOSA attar and solid perfume is alcohol-free and assessed for leave-on skin application. Our reed diffusers and the Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance are home products and are not assessed for skin. Here is the range with the honest description of each, including the families we do not make at all.
| Product | Where it sits | What it is, honestly | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adaa attar 3ml | The clean one · closest to a hotel lobby | Bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and a white musk accord. The only genuinely clean, airy composition in our attar range, and the honest answer to most hotel-inspired requests | ₹379 |
| Nawaab attar 3ml | Polished woods · expensive interiors | White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. For wooden-interior and quiet-luxury requests rather than clean-linen ones | ₹399 |
| Ameeri attar 3ml | Warm sandalwood · heritage hospitality | Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, saffron and soft oudh. Rose inside a warm resinous structure, closest to a grand Indian hotel atmosphere | ₹385 |
| Velour solid 15g | White musk base · skin-close | Toasted almond and whipped cream over a white musk base. Soft and skin-close, and sweeter than a hotel-clean scent, which we would rather say than imply | ₹479 |
| Sterling solid 15g | Powdered musk · refined | Almond nougat and white amber over powdered musk. Refined and velvety, and genuinely powdery, so not for anyone who has told us they dislike powder | ₹469 |
| Hotel Collection 15ml | Rooms only · never skin | Water-based fragrance for ultrasonic mist diffusers. Our own interpretation of hospitality scenting, for air rather than for people | ₹299 |
Attars come in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml: Adaa ₹379 / ₹669 / ₹1,149; Ameeri ₹385 / ₹679 / ₹1,165; Mastani ₹389 / ₹685 / ₹1,179; Nawaab ₹399 / ₹699 / ₹1,199; the three-attar trio ₹1,055 / ₹1,859 / ₹3,189 against ₹1,173 / ₹2,063 / ₹3,543 bought singly. Solid body perfumes are 15g, alcohol-free, from ₹459. What we do not make as a skin fragrance: white tea, clean linen or cotton musk, lavender, vetiver, cedarwood, aquatic or marine, and pine. Several of those exist in our home range and are not assessed for skin. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Versailles
"I want to smell like a five-star hotel" is one of my favourite things a customer can say, because it tells me far more than a note list would. It tells me you want clean rather than sweet, quiet rather than loud, and expensive-feeling rather than obviously perfumed. That is a brief I can work with.
It also comes with two things I have to be straight with you about. The first is that I cannot sell you a hotel's scent. Those are proprietary compositions made for specific groups, and anybody offering you a reproduction is either guessing or doing something they should not. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel group. What I can do is work in the same fragrance families and say so honestly.
The second is harder on my own sales. Our home fragrances are not for your skin. Reed oil is assessed for evaporating from a reed in a room. The Hotel Collection is a water-based fragrance for an ultrasonic mist diffuser. Neither has been assessed for leave-on application to a person, and the exposure is completely different. I will not sell you one as the other, however much you like how it smells in your hallway.
And there are things we simply do not make. No lavender attar. No vetiver attar. No white tea, no clean linen, no cedarwood, no aquatic. Several of those scents live in our reed diffusers and stay there. If that is what you came for, I would rather tell you than sell you something adjacent and hope you do not notice. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Supplier IFRA conformity statements, declarable-allergen lists and the finished-product safety assessment are available per product on WhatsApp on +91 96192 18531; formula compositions and percentages are not disclosed. Reed diffuser oil and the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance are assessed for room use and are not assessed or sold for application to skin. SOSA does not describe its products as chemical-free, hypoallergenic or safe for everyone, publishes no longevity or hour figures, and makes no claim to reproduce any hotel, spa, resort or retail brand's proprietary fragrance.
