Rose is the most loved note in this country and you do not want it, and those two facts sit together perfectly comfortably. What makes your question harder than it looks is not the rose itself - it is that rose rarely travels alone, so ruling it out takes two of our four attars off the table in the same breath.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA attars have rose in them? Two of the four, and in both of them it is doing the main work. Ameeri is built on Taif rose with real Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh underneath. Mastani is night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose over Mysore sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka. Neither is a composition with a little rose in it that you might not notice - the rose is the subject in both cases, so both come off your list without further discussion.

So which one has no rose at all? Two do, and they are not the same answer. Nawaab is the only one of our four attars with no floral note whatsoever: white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber. Adaa has no rose either, but it does carry jasmine sambac in its heart, in a supporting role rather than as the subject. If rose is the whole of your objection, Adaa is open to you. If all flowers are out, Nawaab is the only attar left.

What do they cost, and what should I actually buy? Nawaab is ₹399 for the 3ml, ₹699 for 6ml and ₹1,199 for 12ml. Adaa is ₹379 for the 3ml, ₹669 and ₹1,149 above that. Buy one 3ml and nothing larger - we sell no attar sampler and no discovery set, so the 3ml is the sample size, and it is how you avoid finding out at ₹1,199. The Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, which means two thirds of it is rose. It is not your pack.
The short answer
Short answer: rose is a load-bearing note in two of SOSA's four attars, so ruling it out halves the range at once. Ameeri is built on Taif rose and Mastani on Damask rose and night jasmine, so both are out. Nawaab is the only one of the four with no floral note at all - white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber, ₹399 for the 3ml. Adaa has no rose either, but it does carry jasmine sambac, and that is stated here rather than buried.
The pick: the 3ml of SOSA Nawaab at ₹399 if you want no flowers anywhere in the bottle, knowing that it is oud, aged tobacco and leather. If rose alone is the problem and jasmine is not, the 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is lighter by a long way - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk.
Next step: send me the rose perfumes you have disliked and tell me whether your objection is rose specifically or every flower, and I will tell you which of our four attars survives that sentence - Ask for an attar recommendation.

Three of those five lines take something away, and one of them is a warning about the bottle I am recommending. Nawaab has no flowers in it, and it is also the heaviest thing we make for skin.
SOSA Nawaab - tap through and read the note list before you buy
Straight answer
Which attar should somebody buy if they hate rose perfumes?
SOSA Nawaab, the 3ml, at ₹399 - and then a caveat you need before you buy it, which I will get to in a moment. First the arithmetic, because it is the part that actually answers your question. SOSA makes exactly four attars - Adaa, Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab - and rose is a load-bearing note in two of them. Ameeri is built on Taif rose, with real Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh underneath it; Mastani is night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose over Mysore sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka. In neither case is the rose a trace you might miss - it is the subject of the composition. So both come off your list, and I am not going to spend a paragraph telling you that a real rose absolute smells different from the rose in a bottle you once hated. I believe you about your own nose, and rose is off the table. That leaves two, and they are not interchangeable. Nawaab is the only one of our four with no floral note whatsoever: white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber, with no synthetic oudh in it. Adaa has no rose at all, but it does carry jasmine sambac in the heart, in a supporting role rather than as the subject - bergamot and green cardamom on top, neroli and jasmine sambac in the middle, white musk in the base. Now the caveat. Nawaab is oud, aged tobacco and leather, and it is the heaviest thing we make for skin. A reader who has ruled out flowers has not automatically ruled in oud, and if oud is also on your no list then none of our four attars fits you, and I would rather say that than sell you ₹399 of something you will not wear twice. In that case the honest route is our perfume line: Samundar, SOSA's aquatic marine, or Khayaal, a sparkling bergamot and neroli, both ₹599 for 10ml, and neither of them an attar. Buy the 3ml first, whichever way you go, because we sell no sampler and the 3ml is the sample size; the Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, so two thirds of it is rose. And the standing limits: SOSA publishes no outcome claim for a fragrance, because there is no honest way to measure one, and makes no health or skin-safety claim of any kind - how your skin reacts to anything is a question for a doctor rather than for a perfumer. Ask for an attar recommendation and tell me whether it is rose you hate or every flower.
Rose is the subject in two of our four attars, so Ameeri and Mastani are out in one line. Nawaab is the only one with no floral note at all, ₹399 for the 3ml, and it is oud, tobacco and leather. Adaa has no rose but does carry jasmine sambac, and if all flowers are out, so is it.
The bottle is one SOSA Nawaab - white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron, with aged tobacco, leather and amber underneath, and no floral note anywhere in it. Alcohol-free, no synthetic oudh, and it wears 6-8 hours. ₹399 for the 3ml, which is the size to start with.

Why rose rarely travels alone

Three things are worth knowing before you spend anything, and only the last of them is about which bottle to pick.

1
Start with the note order
Rose is almost never a trace note, which is why ruling it out removes whole compositions
Some notes are used in small amounts to round a composition out. Rose is generally not one of them. It is expensive, it is instantly recognisable, and when a perfumer puts it in, it is usually because rose is what the perfume is about. That is certainly true of ours: Ameeri is a Taif rose composition with sandalwood, saffron and soft oudh supporting it, and Mastani is a rose and night-jasmine composition with sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka underneath. So a rose dislike is not a fine adjustment. It takes two of our four attars off the table in a single sentence, and on a shop shelf it will take a great deal more than that.
Tip: If rose appears in the first two notes of a listing, the perfume is a rose. Read no further.
SOSA Nawaab
One bottle of Nawaab from ₹399 is the whole purchase here.
See SOSA Nawaab →
2
Then ask yourself the second question
Is it rose, or is it every flower? The two answers land on different bottles
This is the question I have to ask everybody who writes in about rose, because the two versions of your dislike have different answers. If rose specifically is the problem - the particular sweet, slightly jammy, slightly green thing that rose does - then Adaa is open to you, with the disclosure that it carries jasmine sambac in its heart. If flowers as a category are out, jasmine included, then Adaa goes too and Nawaab is the only attar left standing, because it is the only one of the four with no floral note of any kind. Decide which sentence is yours before you buy, and the choice makes itself.
Tip: Write out the two sentences and see which one you agree with. That is the whole decision.
SOSA Adaa
One bottle of Adaa from ₹379 is the whole purchase here.
See SOSA Adaa →
3
And read the warning on the bottle I am recommending
Nawaab has no flowers in it, and it is also the heaviest thing we make
I would be doing you no favours if I handed you Nawaab on the strength of the word floral and stopped there. It is white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber. That is a dense, dry, dark composition, and it is the most expensive raw material in our line. Ruling out flowers does not mean you have ruled in oud and leather. If both are out, none of our four attars fits you, and the honest route is the perfume line instead: Samundar, our aquatic marine, or Khayaal, a sparkling bergamot and neroli, both ₹599 for 10ml, neither of them an attar.
SOSA Nawaab
One bottle of Nawaab from ₹399 is the whole purchase here.
See SOSA Nawaab →
The SOSA principle
Rose is a load-bearing note rather than a trace one, so ruling it out does not adjust a range - it removes whole compositions from it.
Which is why a rose dislike halves our four attars in one line, and why the two that survive ask you a second question before they will answer the first.
SOSA Nawaab
No floral note at all, in any quantity: SOSA Nawaab is the only one of our four attars with nothing floral in it. White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber. ₹399 for the 3ml.

Rose only, or every flower?

Here is the same decision as a table, with the rule-outs done in public rather than left for you to discover.

The SOSA shortlist
What a rose dislike rules out across SOSA's four attars
The attar What to do
Ameeri - Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh
Out. The rose is the subject of the composition, not a supporting note, and there is soft oudh under it as well.
Mastani - night jasmine, Damask rose, Mysore sandalwood, oudh, vanilla, tonka
Out twice over. Rose and jasmine are both in the first two notes, and there is vanilla and tonka in the base.
SOSA AdaaAdaa - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac, white musk
Open to you if rose alone is the objection. It carries jasmine sambac in the heart, in a supporting role, and neroli is an orange-blossom note. ₹379 for the 3ml.
SOSA NawaabNawaab - white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather, amber
The only one with no floral note of any kind. Also the heaviest, and it is oud and leather, so read that before you buy. ₹399 for the 3ml.
The Pack of 3 at ₹1,055
Out. It is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, so two of its three bottles are rose compositions, and it does not include Adaa.
If flowers and oud are both out
Then no SOSA attar fits you. Samundar, our aquatic marine, and Khayaal, a sparkling bergamot and neroli, are ₹599 for 10ml, and neither is an attar.

If what you actually meant was that rose must not be the main event, rather than that no flower may appear at all, the narrower version of this question is answered in can I buy attar without rose being a major note, where I take the word major seriously and show you where Adaa's jasmine actually sits. And if it is the style rather than the botany you are rejecting, which modern fragrance families to try if traditional floral attars are not for you is the page that separates those two complaints properly. SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and every attar named here is its own composition.

SOSA Nawaab
No rose, but there is jasmine, and here it is: SOSA Adaa carries jasmine sambac in its heart, in a supporting role. No rose and no oud. ₹379 for the 3ml, and the lightest attar we make.
One bottle, one size, one pulse point
SOSA Nawaab is ₹399 for 3ml - the smallest bottle we make it in, and the only attar of ours with no flower in it.

The SOSA attar specification

SOSA makes exactly four attars, and on a question like yours I would rather put the whole range in front of you with its notes than hand you a shortlist with the awkward parts removed. Below is the one I am recommending, the lighter attar that has no rose but does have jasmine, and the honest non-attar route if flowers and oud are both out. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

The rule-out is the useful half of this page. SOSA makes exactly four attars, and Ameeri, Mastani and the Pack of 3 are all named here as wrong for you, while Nawaab's oud, aged tobacco and leather and Adaa's jasmine sambac are stated rather than softened. The only longevity figure SOSA publishes is that the attars wear 6-8 hours; nothing is published for the perfume line or for the solid body perfumes, so no figure is given for them here, and no note list is published for the solids at all, which is why this page never tells you how one of them smells. SOSA publishes no outcome claim for a fragrance, because there is no honest way to measure one - nothing about compliments, nothing about being noticed - and makes no health or skin-safety claim of any kind, because how your skin reacts to something is a question for a doctor rather than for a perfumer. Free shipping above ₹499 is the only other thing I will promise you. Ask for an attar recommendation before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal

Rose is the most loved note in India, and I say that as somebody who buys it. It is in our wedding water, our sweets, our temples and our grandmothers' cupboards, and it is the first thing most Indian fragrance houses reach for. Which means that when somebody writes to me and says they cannot stand it, they usually write apologetically, as though they were admitting to a defect. You are not. You have simply told me the single most efficient thing you could have told me, and it has cut our attar range in half before I asked you anything else.

The perfumery reason your question is harder than it sounds is that rose is not a rounding note. A perfumer does not add a little rose to smooth out an edge, the way you might add a musk or a touch of amber. Rose is costly and it is unmistakable, so when it goes in, it goes in as the subject. Ameeri is a Taif rose with sandalwood, saffron and soft oudh holding it up. Mastani is a rose and night-jasmine composition sitting on sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka. Neither of them is a perfume you would wear and fail to notice the rose in, and that is by design.

So the answer is Nawaab at ₹399 for 3ml if you want nothing floral at all, and I will say the uncomfortable part out loud: it is oud, aged tobacco and leather, and it is the heaviest thing we make for skin. If rose alone is your objection, Adaa at ₹379 is far lighter, and it carries jasmine sambac, which you should hear from me and not from your own wrist. The Pack of 3 is two thirds rose, so it is not yours. Buy one 3ml, because we sell no sampler. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

I hate rose perfumes - which attar should I buy instead?
SOSA Nawaab, and buy the 3ml at Rs 399. SOSA makes exactly four attars, and rose is the main note in two of them: Ameeri is a Taif rose and Mastani is Damask rose with night jasmine, so both are out. Nawaab is the only one of the four with no floral note at all. It is white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber, so it is oud and leather, and you should know that before you buy.
Does SOSA make any attar with no rose and no jasmine?
One, and it is Nawaab. Adaa has no rose, but it does carry jasmine sambac in the heart in a supporting role, so on a strict no-flowers reading it is out too. Nawaab is the only one of the four attars with no floral note of any kind. The honest catch is that it is the heaviest attar SOSA makes, built on white royal oud with aged tobacco and leather, so a reader who dislikes oud has no attar here at all.
Which SOSA products should I avoid if rose is a firm no?
Ameeri, because it is built on Taif rose with soft oudh underneath. Mastani, because it is Damask rose and night-blooming jasmine over sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka. And the Pack of 3 at Rs 1,055, which is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, so two of its three bottles are rose compositions and Adaa is not in it at all. For a rose-hater that pack is the wrong first purchase by a wide margin.
What if I dislike rose and oud together?
Then none of SOSA's four attars fits you, and I would rather say so than sell you the wrong bottle. Ameeri has rose and oudh, Mastani has both plus vanilla and tonka, Nawaab has oud, and Adaa is oud-free but carries jasmine sambac. The honest route is the SOSA perfume line instead: Samundar, an aquatic marine, or Khayaal, a sparkling bergamot and neroli, both Rs 599 for 10ml. Neither of those is an attar.
Should I buy a sampler to test a rose-free attar first?
SOSA does not sell one, so the honest answer is the smallest bottle of a single attar. The 3ml is the sample size: Nawaab is Rs 399 for 3ml, and the 6ml and 12ml are Rs 699 and Rs 1,199 once you know. Adaa is Rs 379 for 3ml. The Pack of 3 is not a sampler either, since it is three full-size attars. Wear the 3ml for a whole day and judge the drydown rather than the opening.
SOSA Nawaab
The pack is not the answer here: The Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, so two of the three bottles are rose compositions. Buy a single 3ml instead.
A dislike is better data than a like

Facts verified 17 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: SOSA makes four attars, each sold in three sizes, 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. SOSA Adaa is ₹379, ₹669 and ₹1,149, with published notes of bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. SOSA Ameeri is ₹385, ₹679 and ₹1,165, with published notes of Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh. SOSA Mastani is ₹389, ₹685 and ₹1,179, with published notes of night-blooming jasmine, Damask rose, Mysore sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka. SOSA Nawaab is ₹399, ₹699 and ₹1,199, with published notes of white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber. All four are alcohol-free perfume oils with no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, composed by an ISIPCA Versailles-trained perfumer and hand-blended in Pune, and the only longevity figure SOSA publishes for them is that they wear 6-8 hours. The Pack of 3 (₹1,055, ₹1,859 and ₹3,189) is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, and it does not include Adaa. The SOSA perfume line - including Khayaal and Samundar - comes in 10ml, 50ml and 100ml and is referred to on these pages by its SOSA name and its accord only. SOSA publishes no note list and no longevity figure for the solid body perfumes or for the perfume line, so neither is given here, and how a solid body perfume smells is never described. SOSA sells no attar sampler and no discovery set, which is why the 3ml is the sample size and is what these pages recommend buying first. Free shipping above ₹499 is the only logistics fact stated on these pages. Choosing a fragrance is a matter of preference: SOSA makes no health, skin-safety, hypoallergenic, therapeutic or wellbeing claim for any fragrance, makes no claim about compliments, confidence or any other outcome of wearing one, and offers nothing here as medical advice - a reaction on skin is a conversation for a doctor rather than for a perfumer.
