Changing the scent vs refreshing the product
The most useful thing I can do here is split the question, because the two halves pull in opposite directions.
Changing the scent: rarely. A signature forms through consistency. If you swap scents every fortnight, your home never settles into an identity. Seasonal rotation is the most I would recommend for most people.
Refreshing the product: as needed. A reed diffuser gradually weakens as the liquid drops and reeds saturate - top up or replace when the throw fades, usually after some weeks. A candle is measured in burn hours, not weeks.
There are two separate cadences: the scent identity, which should stay consistent for months, and the physical product, which is refreshed whenever its throw weakens.
