★ SOSA morning scenting
You don't run a morning scent all day — you run it in one short, well-timed session, and the room holds it long after the mist stops.

"I set the Sukoon for about 45 minutes while I get ready. By the time I leave the bedroom the fresh scent has settled and it lasts for hours. No need to run it all morning."

The most common mistake I see with an ultrasonic diffuser is treating it like a light you leave on. It isn't. You run a morning scent in one short, well-timed session — thirty to sixty minutes — and the room holds it for hours after the mist stops. Longer isn't better; it just adds humidity your nose has already stopped noticing.

Quick answer

The session: run the Sukoon for 30–60 minutes — 30 for a bedroom, up to 60 for a living room — then switch it off.

When: at the very start of your routine, so the room is scented before you settle into it.

Why not all day: ultrasonic mist adds mild humidity, and once your nose adapts, extra run-time gives you damp, not more scent.

The short version
Short answer: One 30 to 60 minute Sukoon session in the morning, not continuous running.
The pick: use the intermittent/timer mode so it stops on its own before you leave; a fresh Hotel Collection cast holds the room for hours.
For long runs / humid coast: step up to the waterless Vaayu ₹11,999 — no added moisture.

Here's what actually happens when a Sukoon runs. It breaks the water-and-fragrance mix into an ultra-fine cool mist and lifts it into the air. Within a few minutes the room is scented — genuinely, fully. From that point, two things are true at once: your nose is quietly adapting, so the scent seems to fade even though it's still there, and every extra minute of running is adding more moisture to the air than fragrance to your perception. That's the whole case for sessions. A short, concentrated burst gives you a clear fresh hit while your nose is still fresh to it, and then the fragrance lingers on surfaces and soft furnishings long after the machine is off.

The rule of thumb
How long to run the Sukoon, room by room

1. Bedroom — 30 minutes. Switch it on as you wake, let it run while you get ready. A small, enclosed room scents fast and holds it.

2. Living room / open kitchen — 45–60 minutes. Bigger air volume, so give it longer, ideally on continuous for that one session.

3. Whole slow morning — one session, not rolling. Run it once with breakfast; don't top it up every hour.

4. Humid or coastal day — 20–30 minutes, intermittent. Short bursts keep the room fresh without dampness.

5. Leaving the house — off. No point scenting an empty room, and it saves fragrance and water.

In one line: one short morning session scents the room for hours — running it longer mostly adds humidity, not fragrance.

Use the timer
Let it stop on its own before you leave

The Sukoon has a continuous and an intermittent mode. For a morning session I like intermittent — a pulse of mist, a pause, a pulse — which stretches the fragrance and the water in the tank, so the room stays scented without a heavy fog. Set it going, and it does its work while you shower and dress. The device also switches itself off when the tank runs dry, so you're never leaving a hot plate or a burning wick behind, as you would with a candle. That safety margin is exactly why a session-based routine is so easy to keep.

Tip: continuous mode for a big living room, intermittent for a bedroom or a humid day. Same machine, two moods.

The humidity caveat
Why coastal homes keep it short
SOSA Vaayu waterless cold-air diffuser for long runsSOSA Vaayu₹11,999

I'll be honest about this because it matters in Indian homes. An ultrasonic diffuser adds mild humidity — that's the trade-off for scenting on a cool mist. In Pune's dry winter mornings, that's actually pleasant. In Mumbai or Chennai in monsoon, running one for hours can leave a closed room feeling sticky. The answer isn't to stop using it; it's to run short sessions. If you genuinely want fragrance running for hours — an all-day work-from-home space, a large open-plan living area — step up to the waterless Vaayu, which nebulises the oil with no water at all and schedules itself through the day via the app.

Tip: a good test — if the mirror fogs or surfaces feel damp, you've run it too long for your climate. Shorten the session.
Session length by situation
Match the run-time to the room and the weather
Situation Run-time Mode
Bedroom, dry weather 30 min Intermittent
Living room / open kitchen 45–60 min Continuous, one session
Humid or coastal day 20–30 min Intermittent
All-day scenting wanted Use Vaayu instead Scheduled, waterless
The Sukoon is a session tool. It's brilliant for a morning ritual; it's not meant to run twelve hours a day.
The SOSA principle
Scent the air in sessions, and dry the air before you scent it.
A short morning burst gives you a clean, noticeable fragrance that lingers for hours. Running it longer only adds humidity your nose has already tuned out — and no fragrance ever improves damp, stale air.

One last honest word. A morning session works best on air that's already clean. If the bedroom is stuffy from a shut night, crack a window for two minutes first, then run the Sukoon — the fresh scent needs aired air to sit on, not last night's staleness to mask. Fragrance crowns a clean room; it never rescues a closed one. Do that, keep to your session, and a single ₹299 Hotel Collection fragrance lasts a satisfyingly long time. Frequently asked
How long should you run a Sukoon in the morning?
A single 30 to 60 minute session is the sweet spot. Switch the Sukoon on when you wake or start your morning routine, let it scent the room while you get ready or make breakfast, then turn it off. The fragrance carries in the air and lingers for hours after the mist stops, so there is no need to leave it running all morning. Thirty minutes suits a bedroom; up to an hour suits a larger living room.
Does running the Sukoon longer make the scent stronger?
Only up to a point, and then it works against you. Once the room is scented, extra run-time mostly adds humidity rather than more fragrance, and your nose adapts so you stop noticing it anyway. A short, concentrated session gives you a clear, fresh hit that you register, then fades gently. If you want the scent to feel stronger, move the Sukoon closer to where you sit or use the continuous rather than intermittent mode for that one session.
Can I leave the Sukoon running all day?
You can, but it is not the best use of an ultrasonic diffuser. Because it scents on a cool mist, running it for hours adds noticeable humidity to the room, which is unwelcome in a humid or coastal city and can make a closed room feel damp. It also uses far more fragrance for little extra benefit once your nose has adapted. For long, all-day scenting, the waterless Vaayu is the better tool because it adds no moisture; keep the Sukoon for sessions.
Is the mild humidity from a Sukoon a problem?
In short morning sessions, no, and in dry weather a little added moisture is pleasant. It only becomes a problem if you run an ultrasonic diffuser for hours in an already humid room, especially in coastal cities during monsoon, where it can leave surfaces feeling damp. The honest rule is: sessions in humid weather, and if you want long daily runs, choose the waterless Vaayu, which nebulises fragrance with no water at all.
When in the morning should I switch it on?
Switch it on at the very start of your routine so the room is already scented by the time you settle into it. If you scent the bedroom, turn it on as you wake and let it run while you get ready. If you scent the living room or kitchen, switch it on with the kettle. The scent needs only a few minutes to fill the space, and the session finishes before you leave, so the fragrance greets you for the rest of the morning.
