The corridor is where a patient experiences your centre as a single building rather than three tenants sharing a lease. It is also where any second fragrance would be found out, because it is the one volume all three services open onto. So the corridor gets the profile, at one level, and every room that opens off it either gets a faint drift through the door or gets nothing at all. Nothing in the building is ever stronger than the corridor. Often they are also expecting a bigger number than ₹11,999, because a multi-service centre feels like it should be an expensive scenting problem. It is not. It is a small one wearing a large floor plan.
The reason is the subtraction. When I take a 2,000 sq ft plan with gynaecology, nutrition and physiotherapy on it and shade out the examination rooms, the scan room, the prenatal room, the postpartum and lactation rooms and the physio cabins, I am usually left with an entrance, a reception, a waiting area and a corridor. That is one volume of air with one door onto the street, and it takes one profile at one level. The corridor does the connecting work.
