Most car showrooms are quoted for four machines and need one. The display floor is a single connected body of air, and the only real questions are how many cubic metres it holds, which pockets sit on their own air-conditioning, and whether anything is open to the workshop.
Quick answers — read this first
Do I need more than one scent machine for my car showroom? Usually one is enough. Measure the display floor as air: length times width times ceiling height in feet, divided by 35, gives cubic metres. A 2,400 sq ft floor with a 14 ft ceiling is about 950m³, which sits inside the 1000m³ rating of one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999). A second machine is only needed if the customer lounge is partitioned off on its own air-conditioning, if the floor runs beyond about 3,000 sq ft at that height, or if there is a second level.
Does a tall, glass-fronted showroom need extra machines? Height matters, glass does not. A 16 ft ceiling adds air and can push a large floor past 1000m³, which is when a second SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) or one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) becomes the honest answer. Glass only changes placement: put the machine on the air-conditioning path, not at the entrance where the door draught pulls fragrance straight out.
Should I scent the workshop or delivery bay too? No. A bay open to the workshop carries solvent, rubber and PDI smells that fragrance cannot cover, and a SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) placed there would be wasted. Keep the connecting door shut, ventilate and extract properly, and scent only the sealed, air-conditioned display and lounge volume.
The short answer
Short answer: usually one machine, not several. A 2,400 sq ft display floor at a 14 ft ceiling is about 950m³, inside the 1000m³ one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers; a second unit is for a lounge on its own air-conditioning, and a hall of 8,000-10,000 sq ft is one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) instead.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) on the display floor's air path, a second Vaayu only for a separately air-conditioned lounge, and the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) when a single hall runs 8,000-10,000 sq ft or double height.
Next step: send your showroom layout with ceiling heights and we will confirm the count before you order - book a free scenting plan.
A car showroom is usually one connected body of air, so it is usually one machine. The second unit is for a lounge on separate air-conditioning, not for a second corner of the same floor.
Do I need more than one scent machine for my car showroom?
Almost certainly not, and the arithmetic is quick. Measure the display floor as air, not as floor area: length times width times ceiling height in feet, then divide the cubic feet by 35 to get cubic metres. A 2,400 sq ft floor with a 14 ft ceiling is 33,600 cubic feet, which is about 950m³ - inside the 1000m³ that one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated for. That is one machine for the whole glass box, which surprises most dealers who have been quoted for four. The tall ceiling is the part that catches people out, not the glass: at 16 ft, a 2,800 sq ft floor is already past 1000m³ and you are into a second Vaayu or a bigger machine. Glass only changes placement - put the unit on the air-conditioning path, near a return, not beside the entrance where every door swing pulls the fragrance outside. Buy a second machine for exactly three reasons: a customer lounge or handover room partitioned off on its own split unit, a second level, or a floor beyond about 3,000 sq ft at normal showroom height. Where a single hall runs 8,000-10,000 sq ft or is genuinely double height, stop stacking Vaayu and put one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the HVAC. Do not scent the delivery bay or service reception if either is open to the workshop: solvent, rubber and PDI smells need extraction and a closed door, and fragrance on top of them gives you both at once. We make no claim that scent influences what a customer buys - it makes the floor read as finished, which is a different and more honest thing. A free scenting plan will confirm the count from your layout.
A 2,400 sq ft floor at 14 ft is about 950m³, so one Vaayu. Add a second only for a lounge on its own air-conditioning, a second level, or a floor past about 3,000 sq ft.
For most showrooms the whole answer is one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, rated to 1000m³ (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), under 38dB, with a 400ml tank running up to 75 days, app timers and a key-lock for a public floor. Buy the second unit only when a separate body of air genuinely needs it.
There are two machines in a showroom specification and the only thing that separates them is how much air you are asking one unit to hold. Both images link to the live product page so your projects team can check the numbers before signing off.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, key-lock for public spaces. One unit covers a typical display floor.
Partitioned rooms with their own split units do not share air with the floor, so they need their own machine at a lower intensity. Freestanding or wall mounted, waterless, nothing settling on paintwork or upholstery.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and under 42dB running. Carries scent on the airflow the building already moves, or works standalone wall-mounted.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. DC 12V/1A, 5W. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
How to decide whether your showroom needs a second machine
Three checks settle the count: the cubic metres above your display floor, the number of pockets on separate air-conditioning, and whether anything opens onto the workshop.
1
Do the cubic metres
Floor area times ceiling height, divided by 35
Showrooms are built tall so the cars have headroom, and that is exactly where floor-area rules of thumb fail. Take 2,400 sq ft at 14 ft: 33,600 cubic feet, divided by 35, is about 950m³ - one machine. Take the same floor at 18 ft and you are at 1,230m³, which one unit cannot do honestly. Run the number before you run the budget.
Tip: cubic feet divided by 35 gives cubic metres; one Vaayu per 1000m³ of connected air.
The Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft at normal ceiling height. That one number does most of the planning.
A partition with its own split unit is a second machine
Fragrance moves with air. Your display floor, reception desk and accessories wall share one loop, so they are one problem and one machine. A closed customer lounge, a finance cabin or a handover room with its own split unit does not get the fragrance no matter how strong you run the floor unit, so it needs a small share of its own, one intensity step softer. If the whole showroom is on central HVAC, stop counting rooms and put the machine on the duct.
When everything runs on one central system, the Angaan uses that airflow to cover up to 3,000m³ evenly instead of fighting it.
Service reception and delivery bays carry solvent, rubber, tyre and PDI smells, and they are usually half open to the outside. Fragrance cannot cover any of that - you get both smells at once, which is worse than either. Keep the connecting door shut so workshop air does not migrate onto the floor, extract properly on the workshop side, and spend the machine budget on the sealed, air-conditioned volume where customers actually stand.
Tip: scent the sealed, cooled volume; ventilate the rest.
The Vaayu app runs 1h, 4h, 8h and 24h schedules, so the floor unit starts before opening and stops at closing without anyone remembering.
Four machines spread around one showroom floor do not smell four times better. They smell like four different rooms inside one glass box, which is the exact impression a showroom is trying to avoid.
The question was never how many corners you have. It is how many separately cooled bodies of air you have.
When one Vaayu is not enough: SOSA Angaan connects to your HVAC and covers up to 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - which is the honest answer for a double-height showroom hall, ₹25,999.
Here is the whole decision as a table. Normal-height floor inside 1000m³, one Vaayu. Bigger or taller, either a second Vaayu or an Angaan. Nothing else belongs in a showroom specification.
The SOSA plan
Car showroom sizing - how many machines, and which
Your space
What it needs
Display floor up to about 2,500 sq ft at 12-14 ft
One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) on the air-conditioning path. About 950m³ at that height, inside its 1000m³ rating. View →
Display floor beyond about 3,000 sq ft, or two levels
Two Vaayu, one per connected volume, both running the same fragrance at the same intensity. View →
Customer lounge or handover room on its own split AC
Its own Vaayu, same fragrance, one intensity step softer than the floor. View →
A single hall of 8,000-10,000 sq ft or genuine double height
One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the HVAC - 3,000m³ carried on the building's own airflow. View →
On fragrance, choose one profile and put it in every machine on the site, including the lounge unit. Air-conditioned glass showrooms flatten sweetness and amplify anything heavy, so restrained clean profiles hold up through an afternoon of footfall while dessert-like ones turn cloying by the third customer. If your floor is bigger than the example above, the ladder in how many scent machines to buy for a large commercial space shows where a second Vaayu stops being sensible, and calculating machine quantity for multiple rooms and zones gives you the worksheet for a showroom with a lounge, offices and a first floor.
The showroom floor machine: SOSA Vaayu, 1000m³ coverage, 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, app timers and key-lock for a public floor, ₹11,999.
A customer will never tell you your showroom smelled good. They will tell you it felt like a place that takes delivery seriously, and those are the same sentence.

Built for a showroom floor
Waterless, quiet, key-locked and scheduled - the details that matter with cars and customers in the room
Two machines, one decision. The Vaayu takes a normal-height display floor and any separately cooled lounge; the Angaan takes over when a single hall is too tall or too large for one Vaayu to do honestly. Both are waterless, so there is no damp and no residue on paintwork, alloys or upholstery, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A word on choosing: the count comes from connected air volume and separate air-conditioning, not from the number of display bays or the size of the budget. And one honest line - fragrance works alongside ventilation, extraction and cleaning, never instead of them, and it cannot cover workshop solvent, new-car adhesive or a wet monsoon carpet. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel, and we make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision. The fastest way to get this right is a free scenting plan from your layout.

A note from Sonal
A car showroom is a glass box full of expensive metal, and the smell inside it is doing more work than most dealers realise. Cold air, cleaning fluid and a faint edge of tyre rubber reads as a warehouse with lighting. Clean, quiet, restrained fragrance reads as a brand that finishes what it starts. The difference costs one machine.
My advice runs against most quotations you will be shown: do not buy a machine per zone. Work out the cubic metres above your floor and let one Vaayu do as much of it as it honestly can - it is rated to 1000m³, which is roughly 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft at normal height. A 2,400 sq ft floor at 14 ft comes out near 950m³, so it is one machine. Add units only for genuinely separate air, and step up to an Angaan on the HVAC when one hall is simply too big.
The honest part, which I say to every dealer principal: fragrance cannot cover a workshop. Solvent, rubber, adhesive and damp need extraction, a closed door and time. Scent layered over them gives you both smells at once. And I make no claim that fragrance sells cars - it makes the room feel finished, which is worth having on its own terms. Everything is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need more than one scent machine for a car showroom?
Usually not. Multiply floor area by ceiling height in feet and divide the cubic feet by 35 to get cubic metres. A 2,400 sq ft display floor with a 14 ft ceiling is about 950 cubic metres, which sits inside the 1000 cubic metre rating of one SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999. Buy a second machine only for a lounge or handover room on its own split air-conditioning, a second level, or a floor beyond about 3,000 sq ft at that height.
Does a tall glass showroom need a bigger machine?
Height decides it, not glass. A 2,800 sq ft floor at 18 ft holds far more air than the same floor at 12 ft and can push past what one Vaayu covers, which is when a second unit or one SOSA Angaan at Rs 25,999 becomes the right answer. Glass changes where the machine goes: on the air-conditioning path rather than beside a door that opens all day.
Where should the machine sit on a showroom floor?
On the moving air, out of customer reach. Near an air-conditioning return or supply is ideal, wall mounted or freestanding behind a display, and the Vaayu can also be mounted to the HVAC. Avoid the entrance itself, because door draughts pull fragrance straight outside and leave the back of the floor thin.
Should I scent the service reception or delivery bay?
No, if either is open to the workshop. Solvent, rubber and PDI smells need extraction and a shut connecting door, and fragrance on top of them gives you both at once. Scent the sealed, air-conditioned display and lounge volume and spend nothing on the bay.
How long does one 400ml tank last in a showroom?
Up to about 75 days at typical use, and less if you run a higher intensity or longer daily hours. That works out to roughly four or five refills a year per machine. Exact consumption depends on your settings and opening hours and is confirmed on a consultation.
Buy the count you need, not the count you were quoted: One SOSA Vaayu per 1000m³ of connected air, same fragrance in every unit on site. ₹11,999.
The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers up to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, and handles most display floors on its own; the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) takes a double-height or 8,000-10,000 sq ft hall on your HVAC. Both waterless, both made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Send your layout with ceiling heights and we will confirm the count before you spend anything.
