Is the Vaayu suitable at this size? No. It is rated for up to 1,000 square metres of connected air, roughly 10,700 square feet, which is about ten times a 1,000 sq ft home.
What decides between a reed and a Sukoon? Timing. A reed releases at a constant rate for three to four months; a Sukoon can build the level before you come home in the evening and be quieter during the day.
Three inputs, and the answer falls out
This is a selector rather than an argument, and it runs on three inputs. None of them is budget, which is deliberate: at this size the products in question are separated by a few thousand rupees, and the wrong one is wrong regardless of what you can afford. Input one is doors, and it settles most of the home immediately. Walk through at an ordinary hour of an ordinary day and count which internal doors are actually shut. In almost every Indian home of this size the answer includes both or all bedrooms, shut for privacy and for air conditioning, and every bathroom, shut permanently. The kitchen is excluded from consideration entirely, because it should never be scented at any time; cooking smell is aerosolised oil that requires extraction rather than competition, and adding fragrance to it produces a two-part smell anybody arriving reads instantly. Every closed room is a separate volume that no machine can reach, and each one wants its own passive source. That means a reed diffuser in each bathroom, which is incidentally the best value available anywhere in home fragrance since a bathroom is small enough for one source to work evenly and is the room visitors notice most, and a reed in each bedroom at the lightest level in the home, from a source the occupant can move or cap without asking anybody. Plus one just inside the entrance, because everybody living in a home has adapted to it and perceives very little, so the moment of walking in from outside is the only time anybody experiences the place properly. In a typical 1,000 to 1,500 square foot home, that is four to six bottles and it covers most of the house. This part of the answer is identical for every reader. Input two is the shape of whatever remains connected, which is normally the living and dining area with a passage. If that space is broadly square, one source in it distributes evenly and you need nothing further. If it is L-shaped, long and narrow, or has a dining leg running off at an angle, then a single point will produce a strong pocket near itself and an empty far corner, and increasing the output strengthens the pocket without reaching the corner, because this is geometry rather than capacity. The fix is two modest points placed apart, in the same way a long room is lit with two lamps rather than one bright bulb, and the second point can simply be another reed sitting on a console at the far end. Input three is timing, and it is the only question that separates a reed from a machine at this size, since coverage is not in doubt for either. A reed releases at a roughly constant rate for three to four months and has no idea what hour it is. A machine can put the level where the value actually sits, which is arrival: quieter at three in the afternoon, present at seven in the evening when somebody walks in from outside with an unadapted nose, and able to be brought up before guests. If that capability matters to you, the Sukoon at Rs 1,799 is the right unit for a compact connected core and the Megh at Rs 3,499 with its 6L tank for a larger one, remembering that a tank is refilled every few days and rinsed between scents and is the sort of small job that quietly stops being done. If it does not matter, another reed finishes the home, costs a fraction as much, and has the underrated advantage of being unable to drift upward, since there is no setting for an adapted nose to raise. What is not appropriate at this size, in any configuration, is the Vaayu at Rs 11,999. It is rated for up to 1,000 square metres of connected air, which is roughly 10,700 square feet, and a 1,000 square foot home is about 93 square metres. Oversizing here does not buy headroom; a large machine run at its lowest setting can still exceed a compact space, and nobody in the household will perceive the result because they have all adapted.
The selector
The selector. Input one, doors, identical for every home this size: a reed diffuser in each bathroom, one in each bedroom at the lightest level and from a source the occupant can move or cap, and one just inside the entrance - Morning Freshness at Rs 749, Garden Bloom at Rs 799, Evening Calm at Rs 799, Fresh Brew at Rs 849, Mountain Breeze at Rs 849 - three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml, or the SOSA Boond at Rs 799 at the door. That is four to six bottles and most of the house. Input two, shape of the connected living space: broadly square takes one source; L-shaped, long or angled takes two placed apart, and the second can be another reed at the far end. Input three, timing: constant is fine for most homes this size, in which case another reed finishes it and nothing can drift; if the level should build before you come home, the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799 for a compact core or the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank for a larger one, remembering that a tank is refilled every few days and rinsed between scents. Not at this size in any configuration: the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999, rated for up to 1,000 m² of connected air, roughly 10,700 square feet. Fragrance for machines: Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, at three to six drops per tank, rinsing between scents. Reed oil and Hotel Collection are two different systems and are not interchangeable. Before any of it: extraction over the hob every single time, which matters more in a compact plan than anywhere, and a mug of water down the drains of any bathroom not used daily. Never scented: the kitchen at any time, the dining area, children's rooms, and covered balconies, which cannot hold fragrance. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.
| Scent | Why it suits the mood |
|---|---|
| Doors · from ₹749 | A reed per closed room and one at the entrance. Same for everybody |
| Square plan · from ₹749 | One source in the connected living area |
| L-shaped plan · from ₹749 | Two points placed apart. The second can be a bottle |
| Timing · ₹1,799 | Sukoon if the level should change. Otherwise another reed |
The reed comparison is in the reed chapter, the count is in the quantity chapter, and the unit confusion is in the 1,000 sq ft chapter. Everything gathers in the size guide.

Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
