Which way should it face? Angle the mist into the open room, not directly at your pillow or the headboard wall.
Best unit? The Sukoon - quiet, 7-colour night light, remote and 2H/4H timers, so it runs then shuts off on its own.
Setting it up by the bed
A bedroom diffuser has one job: to scent the room softly while you unwind and sleep, without ever becoming a nuisance. That shapes where it goes. Put it on a bedside table, nightstand or dresser, raised to roughly mattress height or a little above, so the cool mist disperses into the room's air rather than pooling on the floor.
Angle matters more than people think. You do not want the mist plume pointed straight at your pillow, where it can feel damp over a long night, nor straight at the headboard wall, where it can settle. Turn the outlet so the mist rises into the open part of the room and drifts back gently. A dresser across from the bed is often the sweet spot.
The quietest, gentlest bedroom setup is a low mist setting on a timer. You do not need scent all night - a couple of hours as you fall asleep is plenty, and the room stays softly fragrant for hours after the unit has switched off.
Keep it near a socket so the cable does not stretch across a walkway, and use filtered or RO water - never hot - with a few drops of SOSA water-based fragrance. That is the whole setup.
Why the Sukoon suits the bedroom
I designed the Sukoon with the bedroom in mind, and every feature earns its place there.
| Feature | Why it helps at night |
|---|---|
| Quiet operation | Soft enough to sleep beside without a hum keeping you up |
| 2H / 4H timers + remote | Set it from bed; it runs then shuts off on its own |
| 7-colour soft light | Doubles as a gentle night light, or turn it off entirely |
| 500ml tank, 16-18 hrs | Fills a 270-320 sq ft bedroom and lasts the night |
Myth: "A diffuser must run all night to work." It does not. A timer running a couple of hours as you fall asleep scents the room well, and the fragrance lingers long after - kinder on the unit and on the water tank.
Pair it with a calm, clean fragrance - White Tea Serenity or Tea Garden - and the bedroom takes on that hushed, spa-clean hotel feel. Remember the one rule: SOSA water-based fragrance only, so the plate stays clear.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
