What carries it? Gentle airflow - a cracked window, a fan on low, a doorway - moves scent through the room.
What traps it? Corners, alcoves and spots behind furniture, plus an undersized unit that cannot reach the far wall.
How scent travels a room
Scent moves the way air moves. A diffuser lifts fragrance into a fine mist, and from that point the fragrance goes wherever the room's air currents take it. Understand that and the best position becomes obvious: put the source where air can reach it from all sides and move it outward.
A central, raised spot gives the mist the most freedom. From the middle of a room it can travel toward every wall; from a corner it can only go two ways, and the far side of the room stays untouched. Height helps too - lifted off the floor, the mist disperses into the moving air of the room instead of settling low.
Airflow is the quiet hero of scent throw. A completely still, sealed room holds fragrance in a pocket near the diffuser. Crack a window or run a fan on its lowest setting and the same unit suddenly perfumes the whole space evenly.
There is a balance, of course. Gentle movement spreads scent; a fierce, direct blast - like sitting the unit under the AC vent - scatters the mist and drives it down before it can travel. You want a drift, not a gale.
Sizing the unit to the room
Placement and airflow only work if the unit can actually produce enough mist for the space. This is where honest sizing matters.
| Room size | Unit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Desk / small room (~150 sq ft) | Boond (300ml) | Compact mist output suits a small, close space |
| Bedroom / study (270-320 sq ft) | Sukoon (500ml) | Runs 16-18 hrs and fills a medium room |
| Living room / open space | Megh (6L) | Adjustable mist dial and the reach for a big room |
Myth: "More fragrance means more spread." Adding extra drops in a tiny unit just makes the near air heavy while the far wall stays bare. Spread comes from placement, airflow and the right-sized unit - not from overloading a small one.
Read the room's corners. If a room has deep alcoves or a large sofa splitting it, the scent will pool on one side. Move the diffuser toward the open centre, or step up a unit size, rather than fighting the geometry with more drops.
Put those three together - central and raised, a little airflow, the right-sized unit - and a single diffuser will carry a hotel-inspired calm to every corner, using nothing more than a few drops of SOSA water-based fragrance.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
