How do I fix the presentation problem cheaply? Give the 130ml size rather than 50ml, or a duo set at Rs 1,498 to Rs 2,598, or a bottle with a 300ml refill at Rs 2,399 alongside.
When is it genuinely a coverage problem? When the space is one connected volume over roughly 2,000 sq ft, or when corridors and stairwells need covering and no bottle can stand there.
"Too small" is two different complaints
This phrase is worth unpacking because it hides two complaints that want opposite solutions. The first is functional. A reed diffuser works by evaporation into the air immediately around it, so its field is a room - a bounded space of a size its small fixed output can fill. Put one in the middle of a connected living, dining and hall of two thousand four hundred square feet and it will produce a pleasant pocket near the console table and very little at the far end, and a corridor twelve metres away will be untouched. That is a real limitation and it is not a fault: the bottle is doing precisely what it is designed for, in a space several times larger than its design assumes. If that is the complaint, the fixes are quantity or mechanism. Quantity first, because it is cheaper and more often right: one bottle per zone that actually matters, where a zone is somewhere fragrance would be noticed and wanted - the entrance, the living area, the main bedroom, a study or dining room, a second bedroom in use. Four of the hundred and thirty millilitre bottles is about five thousand rupees and covers a large home properly, and it has an advantage a single source cannot offer, which is a different register in each room. Mechanism second, where the space is genuinely one connected volume of roughly two thousand square feet or more, or where the problem is specifically the circulation - an entrance hall, a long passage, a landing, the void above a double-height room - because those have no surface to stand a bottle on and they are the spaces that make a large home feel unfinished. That is what the SOSA Vaayu at eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees exists for: a waterless cold-air nebuliser that breaks undiluted oil into a dry nano-mist carried by the air the home is already moving, holding up to a thousand cubic metres, stated as about two thousand to three thousand square feet, at one even strength rather than in pockets. Waterless, so no tank, no humidity added and no oily film; four hundred millilitre tank lasting up to around seventy-five days a fill; one, four, eight and twenty-four hour windows with day selection and adjustable intensity; under thirty-eight decibels, five watts, nine hundred grams, freestanding or wall and HVAC mountable; four one hundred millilitre hotel-inspired oils included; refills of waterless nebuliser oil from one thousand and forty-nine rupees, and never the water-based Hotel Collection at two hundred and ninety-nine rupees, which is a separate system for ultrasonic diffusers. The second complaint is entirely different and it is the one people rarely admit to. Sometimes too small has nothing to do with coverage. It means the fifty millilitre bottle looks slight standing on a large console in a big house, or it means that handing over a single bottle at a housewarming feels like an insufficient gesture next to what other people are bringing. That is a presentation problem, and buying an appliance to solve it is the most expensive mistake available in this category, because the appliance is a box that reads as nothing when unwrapped while the bottle at least looks like a present. The fixes for presentation are cheap and they work. Give the one hundred and thirty millilitre size instead of the fifty: Morning Freshness at one thousand two hundred and forty-nine rupees rather than seven hundred and forty-nine, Garden Bloom or Evening Calm at one thousand two hundred and ninety-nine rather than seven hundred and ninety-nine, Mountain Breeze or Fresh Brew at one thousand three hundred and forty-nine rather than eight hundred and forty-nine. The larger bottle has presence on a table and lasts substantially longer, and the jump in price is a few hundred rupees rather than ten thousand. Better still, give two. A duo set at one thousand four hundred and ninety-eight to two thousand five hundred and ninety-eight rupees is the single most effective answer to this complaint: two bottles read as a considered set rather than an item, they cover two rooms, and the pairings are deliberate - Day and Night puts Morning Freshness with Evening Calm, Fresh and Grounded puts Morning Freshness with Mountain Breeze, Warmth and Bloom puts Fresh Brew with Garden Bloom. Or give a bottle with a three hundred millilitre refill at two thousand three hundred and ninety-nine rupees alongside, which turns a single item into a supply and quietly signals that you expect it to be used for a year. Any of those costs a fraction of a machine and solves the actual problem. One honest test to tell the complaints apart, which takes ten seconds. Ask yourself whether you would still feel the bottle was too small if it were sitting in a two bedroom flat. If yes, the problem is presentation and a duo set fixes it. If no - if the same bottle would be perfect in a smaller home and only looks lost in this one - then it is coverage, and the question becomes whether the house is a set of rooms or one connected volume. Rooms means more bottles. One connected volume over roughly two thousand square feet means the machine, and under that figure the machine over-scents, which is a worse outcome than a modest-looking present. Two closing notes. If they already own bottles, the refill is the better gift than another bottle, and enthusiasts under-buy refills for themselves. And if the reeds in their existing diffuser have stopped throwing, the answer is usually a fresh set of reeds rather than a new product - reeds saturate over weeks and slow down, which almost nobody is told, and replacing them restores the bottle. Fragrance is a finishing touch and never a fix.

Versailles
The Vaayu is the most expensive thing we make and we turn down more orders for it than for anything else in the range. Not because we do not want to sell it - because most homes do not need it. It covers up to a thousand cubic metres, roughly two to three thousand square feet, and that is a villa, a penthouse, a large open-plan flat or a house with a double-height room. An ordinary 2BHK is not that, and in an ordinary 2BHK a reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine rupees does the job better than eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees of machine would. So the question we ask is never what somebody spent on their house. It is how many cubic metres of air are in it.
The second thing we say, and almost nobody expects it, is wait a few weeks. A brand-new home smells of paint, varnish, polish, cement and new wood, and those are not smells to cover - they need open windows and time, and they go on their own. Give the machine at the housewarming by all means, but tell them the scenting starts once the building has finished smelling of being built. It is the same rule we apply to a new car, for the same reason: adding fragrance to a smell that is fading anyway is how a good product gets blamed for a bad result.
Two honest limits. Reed diffusers do not fail in large homes, they simply do not reach - a diffuser on a console table scents the area around that console table, which is not a fault, it is physics, and several of them is a real alternative to one machine. And there are two machines above the Vaayu, the Angaan and the Meenar, which are HVAC units for showrooms and hotel floors rather than houses - so if a home is genuinely far beyond three thousand square feet, message us rather than assuming more money solves it.
