Anything that lives only in a conversation gets lost on a site, and this layer lives in conversation more than any other.
Quick answers — read this first
Should scenting be part of the design drawings or added at the end? On the drawings. Machine positions and sockets belong on the electrical layout, the products belong on the FF&E schedule room by room, and the running instructions belong in the handover pack.

Why does it matter which drawing? Because a site team builds from drawings. A layer that exists only in conversation with the client does not survive a programme with dozens of trades and a changing site team.

Does it belong on a mood board? A mood board can carry the intent, but it does not get built from. The position has to reach the electrical layout or it will not exist.
The short answer
Short answer: On the electrical layout and the FF&E schedule. Conversations do not survive a site programme.
The pick: the SOSA Safar (₹3,999) as the flagship delivery gift; volume gifts from ₹299; reed diffusers from ₹749; the Vaayu (₹11,999) for your own premises.
Planning volumes? WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 - tell us the customer moment, per-unit band and quantity and we will quote and build the programme.
Customer gifting that compounds - the SOSA method at a glanceStep 1 - gift the moment: delivery day, possession, checkout, milestone purchaseStep 2 - set the per-unit band: ₹299 to ₹3,999 by customer valueStep 3 - brand the gesture: your card, your story, our fragranceStep 4 - pilot small, then scale to 50, 100, 500 unitsWhatsApp the bulk desk for volume pricing
A customer gift works when it survives the drive home - sweets vanish in a day and keychains join a drawer, but a fragrance is used daily in the customer's own car or living room, replaying your brand at every use. The method: gift the milestone moment, set the per-unit band by customer value, brand the gesture with your card, pilot and scale. This guide walks the exact play, with real SOSA options at every band.
Straight answer
Should scenting be part of the design drawings or added at the end?
On the drawings - and specifically on three documents rather than one. The electrical layout carries the machine position and its socket in each connected volume. This is the one that binds, because after the walls close it means chasing plaster or running a visible cable. The FF&E or finishes schedule carries the products themselves, room by room, priced per room, with the exclusions written in as excluded rather than simply absent. The handover pack carries the running instructions - level, schedule, which fragrance goes in a machine, and the reorder path. The reason is not bureaucratic. A site team builds from drawings. A layer that exists only in a conversation with the client, or on a mood board, does not survive a programme with thirty trades, a site engineer who changes twice and a six-month gap between the discussion and the socket being installed. Mood boards do not get built from. And note how small the drawing work is: most rooms need nothing on the electrical layout at all, because every room behind a closed door takes a reed, which needs no power. Hotel Collection from ₹299, Vaayu ₹11,999, reeds from ₹749. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
Quick answer: on the electrical layout, the FF&E schedule and the handover pack. Not in a conversation.
The gift most business readers of this guide pilot first: the SOSA Safar - rechargeable waterless car diffuser, three hotel-inspired scents in the box, used by the customer every single day - at ₹3,999 per unit. Volume gifts from ₹299; reeds from ₹749. Or WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 for a bulk quote.

If it is not on a drawing, it does not get built

On the drawings, and the reason is practical rather than procedural. A construction site builds from documents. Over the course of a fit-out there will be dozens of trades, a site team that changes at least once, a main contractor with their own sequence and a gap of many months between the meeting where something was discussed and the day it would have had to be installed. Anything that exists only as a conversation with the client, or as an image on a mood board, does not survive that. It is not that anybody forgets deliberately - it is that a drawing is the only instrument that reliably converts an intention into a built thing. This layer lives in conversation more than almost any other, which is exactly why it goes missing more than almost any other. There are three documents it belongs on, and they do different jobs. The first is the electrical layout, and it is the one that genuinely binds. It carries the machine position in each connected volume and the socket that serves it. After the walls are closed, the plaster is on and the joinery has been made, adding that socket means chasing a wall, and not adding it means a visible cable running across a console in a room where every other detail has been resolved. Mark one position per connected volume rather than per room, because a machine distributes through connected moving air and cannot cross a closed door, so a large open living, dining and circulation space is a single problem. Place it on hard surface rather than beside a large soft piece, in the path of general air movement, and away from an air conditioning grille where it would either be pulled off before doing anything or distributed far more widely than intended. If the machine is to sit inside or on built-in furniture, it belongs on the joinery drawing too, with a note on shelf depth, because a shelf fifty millimetres too shallow makes the position unusable and nobody discovers that until the day the client moves in. The second document is the FF&E or finishes schedule, and it carries the products themselves, listed room by room and priced per room. Room by room matters for two reasons. It reflects the actual logic, because the plan rather than the area decides what each space needs. And it makes each number small and approvable rather than presenting one aggregate figure that invites a negotiation - a reed diffuser at Rs 749 to Rs 849 against a bedroom line is barely paused on. It is also where the exclusions go, written in as excluded rather than simply left out: the kitchen at any time, because cooking smell is aerosolised oil and extraction is the answer; children's rooms; a covered terrace, balcony or verandah, which cannot hold fragrance at all because the air is not enclosed; and staff quarters and utility areas. Writing a no into a schedule is more persuasive than any argument for the yeses, and it also prevents the request arriving later as a change. The third document is the handover pack, and it is what keeps the layer working after you have gone. It should carry the level and run schedule you set, the instruction that machines take the water-based Hotel Collection only at three to six drops per tank with a rinse between scents and never reed oil, which can damage them, and the reorder path so the client knows what to do in month four when the first reed bottle needs replacing. It should also carry the correction rule, which is the single most useful sentence in the whole pack: leave the level alone, and adjust only if a visitor remarks on it. That exists because the household adapts to a steady background within about an hour and can no longer detect it, so a client adjusting by nose will climb steadily upward and end up with a house that guests find strong. A rule protects them from that, and protects you from the phone call. What does not work is a mood board. A mood board is a legitimate place to carry the intent - it can say the house should read clean, dry and unsweet, close to a good hotel - but nothing gets built from a mood board, so if the position never reaches the electrical layout it will not exist. The same applies to a specification that says fragrance system as a single line with a lump sum: it communicates a budget rather than an instruction, and a site team cannot act on it. Two notes on what to write on those drawings. Keep the whole scheme to one register throughout the home, varied by intensity rather than by scent, because two registers meet in doorways many times a day and the collision reads as something being slightly wrong. And add a programme note rather than a drawing note that fragrance is the last layer in, after the site clean and after the building has been aired, because new paint, sealers, adhesives, engineered board and new coated upholstery off-gas for weeks and fragrance layered over that combines rather than masks. On the products, the Vaayu at Rs 11,999 covers a large open volume - waterless with no tank, coverage up to 1,000 square metres or roughly 10,700 square feet, with Bluetooth app and timer control. The Megh at Rs 3,499 has a 6L tank, the Sukoon at Rs 1,799 covers a single room and the Boond at Rs 799 a small one. Reeds cover closed rooms at Rs 749 to Rs 849, three to four months a bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml. The seven Hotel Collection registers are Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, and they are SOSA's own interpretations, since we are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. Do not write any claim about mood, focus, sleep, stress or wellbeing onto a drawing or into a specification. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Volume pricing is quoted against the specification on WhatsApp.

Why this works
Where it goes
1 Electrical layout: machine positions and sockets 2 FF&E or finishes schedule: the products, room by room 3 Handover pack: the running instructions and reorder path 4 Not a mood board, because mood boards do not get built
The flagship delivery gift: the SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 - a rechargeable waterless car diffuser with three hotel-inspired scents in the box. Per-unit gifts from ₹299; volume pricing on WhatsApp.
01
Electrical layout
The document that actually binds
One machine position per connected volume, with its socket. After the walls close it is a chased wall or a visible cable, and neither is acceptable in a premium room.
Tip: Add a shelf-depth note on the joinery drawing if it sits in furniture.
02
FF&E schedule
Room by room, priced per room
It matches the real logic, since the plan rather than the area decides each space, and it makes each number approvable. It is also where the exclusions are written in as excluded rather than absent.
03
Handover pack
What keeps it working in month four
Level and schedule, the machine instruction - Hotel Collection only, three to six drops, rinse between scents, never reed oil - the reorder path, and the correction rule.
Tip: Leave the level alone; adjust only if a visitor remarks.
The SOSA principle
A drawing is the only instrument that reliably turns an intention into a built thing.
Nothing gets built from a mood board.

Which drawing it belongs on

On the drawings, for a practical reason: a site builds from documents. Over a fit-out there are dozens of trades, a site team that changes at least once, and many months between the meeting where something was discussed and the day it would have had to be installed - anything living only as a conversation or a mood board does not survive that. Three documents carry it. The electrical layout binds: one machine position per connected volume with its socket, placed on hard surface rather than beside a large soft piece, in the path of general air movement, and away from an AC grille where it would be pulled off or spread too widely. One position per volume rather than per room, because a machine cannot cross a closed door. If it sits in built-in furniture it belongs on the joinery drawing with a shelf-depth note, since a shelf fifty millimetres too shallow makes the position unusable and nobody finds out until move-in. The FF&E schedule carries the products room by room and priced per room, which matches the real logic and makes each number approvable rather than presenting an aggregate that invites negotiation - and it is where the exclusions are written in as excluded rather than absent: the kitchen at any time, children's rooms, covered terraces which cannot hold fragrance at all, staff quarters and utility areas. The handover pack keeps it working after you have gone: the level and schedule, the instruction that machines take the water-based Hotel Collection only at three to six drops per tank with a rinse between scents and never reed oil, the reorder path for month four, and the correction rule - leave the level alone and adjust only if a visitor remarks, because the household adapts within an hour and adjusting by nose only climbs. A mood board can carry the intent and cannot be built from. Add a programme note that fragrance is the last layer in, after the site clean and airing, because new paint, sealers, adhesives and engineered board off-gas for weeks. Products: the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 with coverage to 1,000 m² and app and timer control, the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499, the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799, the SOSA Boond at Rs 799, reeds from Rs 749 to Rs 849, Hotel Collection from Rs 299. The SOSA business gifting edit

Whatever your business gifts, the logic is the same: gift the milestone moment, set the per-unit band by customer value, keep the register gentle and crowd-safe, and brand the gesture with your card rather than your logo on the product. Every SOSA fragrance is alcohol-free and made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so every customer gift quietly gives twice. Here is the full business range by per-unit band.

SOSA Vaayu Your own premises + landmark B2B gifts Waterless cold-air scent machine to ~1000m³ with app + timer - scent the space customers walk into ₹11,999
Honest notes for business gifters: customer taste varies, so volume programmes should run gentle, crowd-tested registers - fresh, clean and lightly floral scents are received well across every profile, and space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) avoid the personal-taste risk of skin perfume entirely. Listed prices are per-unit store prices; volume pricing, pilot batches, branded cards and custom hamper builds are quoted on WhatsApp - and signature-scent development for your brand is a consultation with our perfumer, not an off-the-shelf item, so timelines are discussed case by case. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with any hotel brand. Ultrasonic diffusers use the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil - the two are not interchangeable. All personal fragrances are alcohol-free and IFRA-compliant. WhatsApp bulk desk: +91 96192 18531. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

ISIPCA
Versailles
A note from Sonal

Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.

I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.

And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.

Frequently asked questions

Should scenting be part of the design drawings?
Yes. Machine positions and sockets go on the electrical layout, the products go on the FF&E schedule room by room, and the running instructions go in the handover pack.
Why not just discuss it with the client?
Because a site builds from drawings. With dozens of trades, a changing site team and months between discussion and installation, a conversation does not survive the programme.
Which is the drawing that really matters?
The electrical layout. After the walls close, adding a socket means chasing a wall and leaving it out means a visible cable in a room detailed to the millimetre.
Where do the exclusions go?
On the FF&E schedule, written in as excluded - kitchen, children's rooms, covered terraces, staff and utility areas - rather than simply left off the list.
What belongs in the handover pack?
The level and schedule, the instruction that machines take Hotel Collection only and never reed oil, the reorder path, and the correction rule. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

Editorial standards & sources
About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the customer-gifting advice applies whatever your business finally buys.

Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer). Listed prices are per-unit store prices; volume pricing and branding are quoted on WhatsApp. The Hotel Collection and hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel or perfume house named for comparison.
