Three formats sit behind this question and they differ by dose curve rather than by quality. Two of them belong in a chiropractic clinic, one of them mostly does not, and that third one is the one we do not make.
Quick answers — read this first
Reed diffuser, room spray or professional scenting for a clinic? A reed under about 300 sq ft of scented air, a machine above it, and a spray almost never. The three formats differ in how they release scent over time. A reed is passive and continuous, releasing at a low steady rate with no way to stop it quickly. A machine is active and schedulable, releasing in run windows at a set intensity. A spray is manual and momentary, producing a spike that collapses within minutes. A clinic wants the flattest curve it can get, which rules the spray out before price is even discussed.
Does SOSA make a room spray? We do not. Every spray SOSA makes is a car product, and there is no room spray or air freshener in the range at all. That is a real gap rather than a positioning statement, and it means that if a spray is genuinely the right answer for your clinic - a bin store, a staff washroom, a one-off before a landlord walks through - the honest advice is to buy one somewhere else. I would rather write that than steer you toward a ₹749 bottle that solves a different problem.
What does professional scenting actually mean here? An active machine that nebulises or aerosolises fragrance on a schedule you set, mounted or freestanding, with an intensity control and usually a timer. In this range that is the ultrasonic Sukoon at ₹1,899 at the small end and the waterless SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 at the top. The phrase describes control, not a better fragrance.
The short answer
Short answer: Three formats, distinguished by their dose curve. A reed diffuser is passive and continuous and correct under about 300 sq ft of scented air. A machine is active and schedulable and takes over above that. A spray is manual and momentary, which is the wrong shape for a room people sit in - and SOSA makes no room spray at all, because every SOSA spray is a car product. If a spray is what you need, buy it elsewhere.
The pick: one Morning Freshness reed at ₹749 for a small reception, the SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 to about 750 sq ft, and the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 past roughly 1,500.
Next step: tell us the scented square footage, the ceiling height and whether anybody needs to stop the source in seconds, and we will name the format rather than the product first - ask for a clinic scenting plan.
Reed diffusers, room sprays or professional scenting - what makes sense for a chiropractic clinic?
A reed below about 300 sq ft of scented air, a machine above it, and a spray almost never - and the reason is the shape of the dose over time rather than the price. Take the three in turn. A reed diffuser is passive and continuous. Oil wicks up fibre reeds and evaporates at a rate set by the exposed reed surface, which means the number of reeds standing in the bottle is your volume control and the size of the bottle is your duration control. A 50ml lasts six to eight weeks, a 130ml fourteen to eighteen. It produces the flattest curve of the three, needs no power and no routine beyond flipping the reeds weekly with gloves, and its one real weakness is that it cannot be stopped in seconds - you can carry the bottle out of the room, but that is a workaround rather than a control. A machine is active and schedulable. It runs in windows you set, at an intensity you choose, and it can be switched off from behind the desk, which matters because fragrance sensitivity is real and the correct response to a client who objects is to stop the source immediately. Machines split two ways: ultrasonic units like the Boond at ₹899 and the Sukoon at ₹1,899, which aerosolise water and add a little humidity and need a tank routine, and the waterless SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, which nebulises undiluted oil cold and adds nothing to the air. A spray is manual and momentary. It produces a spike that reads as far too strong for the first minute and then collapses, which is the worst possible curve for a room people sit still in for twenty minutes, and it is applied by a person who is already used to the smell of the clinic and therefore consistently overdoses it. Then the gap I would rather state at the top than bury: SOSA makes no room spray or air freshener at all. Every spray we make is a car product. If a spray really is what your clinic needs - a bin area, a store cupboard, a one-off before somebody walks the space - buy one elsewhere, with my blessing. A spray also does not remove, mask or neutralise an odour; it sits alongside it, and in a clinic that has an odour problem the order of work is source, ventilation, cleaning, then fragrance. Fragrance here is an ambience decision like lighting, seating or flooring, SOSA products are not medical devices, we make no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend, adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented whatever the format, and the clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan.
Reeds are passive and continuous, machines are active and schedulable, sprays are manual and momentary. SOSA makes the first two. Every SOSA spray is a car product, so if a spray is your answer, buy it elsewhere.
For a small reception the format is a reed and the product is one Morning Freshness at ₹749. For a large connected front of house the format is an active machine, and that is the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999.
Professional scenting is the third column of the table below, and in a chiropractic context it comes down to these two plus the small ultrasonics. Both of these are for large connected spaces; the product pages carry the cubic-metre figures if you want to check them against your own.
₹11,999, 1000m³ or about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, nebulising undiluted oil with no water and no heat. 400ml tank at 90+ days, timers, adjustable intensity, key-lock, under 38 dB. The format's main advantage over a bottle is that it can be told when to stop.
₹25,999, HVAC nebulising diffuser rated 3,000m³ or roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, 800ml reservoir, programmable schedules, metal body, under 42 dB. It is the same format as the Vaayu with more reservoir and more reach, for a facility rather than a clinic.
₹11,999, 1000m³ (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), cold-air nebulisation of undiluted oil, 400ml tank lasting 90+ days, Bluetooth app plus onboard buttons, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, auto-stop, key-lock, under 38 dB, 5W. Ships with four 100ml Hotel Collection fragrances. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Made in India.
Each format is a different answer to the same question: how much fragrance enters the room, and when. Read them as three curves rather than three price points, because the curve is what decides which one belongs in a clinic.
1
Format one
The reed: passive, continuous, and quietly the default
A reed diffuser has no moving parts and no settings. Oil travels up fibre reeds - fibre rather than rattan, because they wick better in Indian humidity - and evaporates from the exposed length, so the number of reeds standing is the volume control and the bottle size is the duration control. Three or four reeds in a small reception, six only in a larger or draughtier one. A 50ml runs six to eight weeks and a 130ml fourteen to eighteen, and a bigger bottle buys you months rather than metres. Soak for an hour before the first flip, then flip weekly with gloves. The curve is close to flat, which is exactly what a room full of returning clients wants. The weakness is the absence of a switch, and whether that matters is a question about your reception rather than about the product.
Tip: Count the reeds on the first Monday of the month and write the number on a label under the shelf. Reed count is the setting people change without noticing.
If the missing switch is the thing that bothers you, that is the one honest reason to move to the active format, and at scale that is the Vaayu.
The machine: active, scheduled, and split by water
An active machine gives you three things a bottle cannot: run windows, an intensity setting, and an off switch within reach of the desk. Inside the format there is a real division. Ultrasonic machines - the Boond at ₹899, the Sukoon at ₹1,899, the Megh at ₹3,499 - work by aerosolising water, so each of them adds a little humidity while it runs, takes the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance, and needs its tank emptied and wiped on a rota somebody owns. The waterless Vaayu nebulises undiluted oil cold, so there is no tank cycle, no added humidity and no mineral film on upholstery or equipment. That difference matters most in a sealed, air-conditioned clinic in a humid city.
Waterless is the property to weigh in a room full of tables and equipment. The Vaayu adds nothing to the air except the fragrance itself.
A spray is the format most clinics reach for first and the one that suits a clinic least, for three reasons. Its curve is a spike: far too strong for the first minute, gone within ten, so nobody in the room ever experiences the level you intended. It is dosed by a person who has been breathing the clinic all day and has adapted to it, which reliably produces an overdose. And it is aimed into a room where somebody may be sitting, which is a poor way to treat anyone with a fragrance sensitivity, and completely wrong anywhere near a client who is prone on a table and cannot move away. There are legitimate uses - a bin store, a cleaner's cupboard, a staff washroom - and SOSA cannot serve any of them, because every spray we make is a car product. There is no room spray in the range.
Tip: If a spray is genuinely the answer to your problem, buy one from somebody who makes them. It is a short list of situations, but it is not an empty one.
The nearest honest substitute for a spray's flexibility is a scheduled machine that can be switched on and off, which is what the Vaayu does with a timer rather than a trigger.
A format is a dose curve. A reed is a flat line, a machine is a square wave you draw yourself, and a spray is a spike that collapses - and a room people sit still in wants the flat line.
Choose the curve first and the product second. Doing it the other way round is how a clinic ends up with the right fragrance behaving badly.
The square wave, drawn by you: 1h, 4h, 8h or 24h windows, chosen days, an intensity setting and a key-lock so the shape stays the shape you drew.
The same four formats, read against the specific conditions of a clinic: returning clients, a receptionist who breathes it all day, cabins on the zero list, and a sensitivity protocol that requires a fast stop.
The SOSA plan
Three formats, and what each one is in practice
The format
What it does in a clinic, and who makes it
Reed diffuser, ₹749 to ₹1,349
Passive and continuous, flat and forgiving, no power and no tank. The default under about 300 sq ft of scented air. Cannot be stopped in seconds, which is its one real cost in a clinic.
Ultrasonic machine, ₹899 to ₹3,499
Active and scheduled, and it adds a little water to the room while it runs. Takes the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299. Right to about 750 sq ft where a switch is wanted. View →
Waterless machine, ₹11,999
Active, scheduled, mountable, and adds nothing to the air. Correct past roughly 1,500 sq ft of scented volume, or where a corridor has to be served. View →
Room spray
Manual and momentary, a spike that collapses, dosed by somebody who has adapted to the room. Wrong for a space people sit in, and wrong near a treatment room. SOSA makes no room spray at all - every SOSA spray is a car product - so buy elsewhere if you need one.
We do not make a room spray. Every spray SOSA makes is for a car, and if a spray is genuinely what your clinic needs, the honest answer is to buy one from somebody else.

Where the active format goes at scale
Mounted, scheduled and dry, once a bottle has run out of room
Scented volume picks the format, and the format picks the product. Everything below is sized to the entrance, reception, waiting area and corridor only. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA size ladder
Two formats we make, and the size that separates them
Under about 300 sq ft the format is a reed at ₹749 to ₹849, and between there and roughly 750 sq ft it is a Sukoon at ₹1,899 if you want the switch. There is no third column to sell you: SOSA makes no room spray and no air freshener. Fragrance is an ambience decision like lighting or seating, with no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind. It works alongside your ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol, never instead of them, SOSA products are not medical devices, and we make no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend. Adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, staff must be able to stop the source within seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and we will pick the format with you.

A note from Sonal
People are often surprised that a fragrance house does not make a room spray, and the reason is not principle. It is that we started with a car spray and a reed line and then went straight to machines, and the room spray never got made. I could write a paragraph explaining why sprays are the wrong format for a clinic and quietly leave out the fact that we do not sell one, but you would work it out at the shop page and reasonably wonder what else the page had left out.
The format question is also the one I most often see answered backwards. An owner picks a fragrance they like, then buys whatever object that fragrance comes in, and then wonders why the room behaves oddly. Decide the curve first. If you need the level to be the same at nine in the morning and six in the evening, and nobody needs to stop it in a hurry, you want a bottle. If somebody needs a switch or a schedule, you want a machine, and the size decides which.
Two formats, honestly described, is more useful than three formats with one of them oversold. We make no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention, referrals or spend. Fragrance is an ambience decision, like lighting or seating. Adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, staff must be able to switch the source off in seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Does SOSA make a room spray or air freshener for clinics?
We do not, and there is no plan I can point you at. Every spray in the SOSA range is a car product. That is a genuine gap in what we offer, and it means that where a spray is the right tool - a bin area, a store cupboard, a staff washroom - you should buy one from another maker rather than substituting a reed diffuser for it.
Is a room spray ever the right product for a chiropractic clinic?
Rarely, and never in a room clients occupy. A spray's curve is a spike that collapses, and it is dosed by somebody who has adapted to the clinic's smell and will overshoot. Its honest uses are back-of-house and one-off: a cupboard, a bin area, a space nobody sits in. For the entrance, reception and waiting area you want a continuous or a scheduled source instead.
Can staff spray something between clients in a treatment room?
No, and this is the one place I would be firm about it. Treatment and adjustment rooms stay unscented, and a client arriving into a room that was sprayed five minutes ago meets the top of the spike face-down in a cradle with nowhere to turn. What changes an adjustment room is the wipe-down product, the laundry turnaround on cradle covers and the hand wash - all schedule changes rather than purchases.
Which format holds the steadiest level through a working day?
A reed, followed by a machine on a long low run window. A reed's output drifts slowly over weeks rather than hours, which is why it reads as steady across any single day. A machine holds a number exactly but only inside the windows you set, so the room climbs and falls at the edges of those. A spray holds nothing at all - that is the point of it.
What is the cheapest way into the active format?
The Boond at ₹899 for a desk-scale space up to about 150 sq ft, or the Sukoon at ₹1,899 for 270 to 320 sq ft. Both are ultrasonic, so both add a little humidity and both need a tank routine. Neither reaches along a corridor, and neither is a substitute for the waterless machine in a large plan.
The active format at its largest: the SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999, 3,000m³ and an 800ml reservoir. Same format, building scale, and almost never a chiropractic answer.

Facts verified 24 August 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, and also runs standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol and is not a substitute for any of them, it is not a medical device, and SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or treatment claim of any kind and no claim that fragrance affects bookings, retention or spend. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
