What causes musty odour
To stop a musty smell for good, you have to know what actually makes it. It is almost never a fragrance problem.
The cause: trapped moisture and stagnant air. Damp walls and floors, a room that stays shut and humid, a slow or dirty drain, and seepage or leaks all feed the musty smell. Remove the moisture and airflow problem, and the smell has nothing to live on.
