This is the one question in the whole guide where the useful answer is an explanation rather than a number. I could give you millilitres per month. It would be a made-up figure, it would sound authoritative, and somebody would build a ten-showroom purchase plan on it - so instead, here is precisely why nobody can honestly give you one.
Quick answers — read this first
How much fragrance oil will my showroom use every month? I do not know, and neither does anybody who has not metered your particular showroom for a season. SOSA has not measured monthly consumption, so SOSA does not publish it. It moves with four live variables - the intensity setting, the daily run hours, the cubic volume of the room and how often the doors open - and those differ in every building. The one figure that can honestly be given is that the 400ml supplied with the Vaayu runs 90+ days a fill.

Can't you work it out from the tank size? No, and I want to be exact about why. "90+ days a fill" is a floor rather than a measurement, and the plus is doing real work in that sentence: a machine on a low setting in a modest volume on a ten-hour timer goes a good deal further than one running hard in a double-height experience centre. Dividing a tank by a number of days produces arithmetic, not data, and once it is printed with a rupee sign next to it people stop treating it as the guess it is.

Then what should I do about budgeting? Two things. Measure your own - write the fill date on masking tape, record the intensity setting, the timer schedule and the room's cubic volume on the same card, change none of them, and note the date the tank empties. Two fills and you have your building's real figure. And ask SOSA in writing about continuity of cold-air oil supply, because no refill is sold separately today. Hardware is the part that is settled: one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, oil included.
The short answer
Short answer: nobody can tell you honestly, because SOSA has not measured it. Consumption moves with the intensity setting, the daily run hours, the cubic volume of the room and door traffic, and those differ in every building. The only figure that can be given is that the 400ml supplied with the Vaayu runs 90+ days a fill. No cold-air refill is sold separately today, so confirm continuity of supply with SOSA in writing before you plan around it.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), which ships with 4 × 100ml running 90+ days a fill - and, if you want a product whose consumption is genuinely published at both ends, one Mountain Breeze reed (₹849 for 50ml, lasting 6-8 weeks).
Next step: tell us your intensity setting, your timer schedule and the cubic volume of the room, and we will tell you which way each of those pushes consumption - and we will not turn that into a millilitre figure, because we have not measured one - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
Monthly oil consumption - why the figure does not existSOSA has not measured it, so SOSA does not quote itIt moves with intensity, hours, volume and doorsThe one honest figure: 400ml runs 90+ days a fillDo not divide a tank by days and call it dataMeasure your own - masking tape and two fills
There is no average showroom to average, and there has been no measurement. What there is instead is a method you can run yourself for the price of a roll of masking tape.
The machine and what ships with it - tap for the specification
Straight answer
How much fragrance oil will a modular kitchen showroom actually use every month?
I cannot tell you, and I would rather spend this page explaining that properly than give you a figure I would have to invent. SOSA has not measured monthly fragrance oil consumption in a showroom, so SOSA does not publish a number for it. That is the whole of the honest answer, and everything below is the reasoning behind it. Consumption here has at least four live variables and every one of them differs between buildings. The intensity setting: a machine held low, which is where a kitchen showroom should sit because customers are seated for sixty to ninety minutes, uses less than the same machine turned up. The daily run hours: a ten-hour trading timer is not the same as a fourteen-hour one, and a showroom that takes the machine off entirely on cooking-demonstration days is different again. The cubic volume of the space, which is why the sizing conversation is always in cubic metres rather than square feet - a double-height experience centre holds far more air than its floor plan suggests. And the door traffic and air changes: a glass frontage in a busy market opening every few minutes exchanges air constantly, and a sealed, conditioned first-floor studio does not. Four variables, no measurement, and no average building to average. The only figure I can honestly give you is the one on the specification: the SOSA Vaayu ships with 4 × 100ml and that 400ml runs 90+ days a fill. Please do not turn that into a monthly quantity by dividing, because "90+" is a floor rather than a measurement and the plus in it is doing real work - the arithmetic would look like data and it would not be data. There is a second, harder fact attached to this. No cold-air refill oil is sold separately today. The 400ml in the box is the entire supply as things stand, and the water-based Hotel Collection at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 is ultrasonic only and is never a Vaayu refill. So before you budget, and certainly before you commit to a second showroom, ask SOSA in writing to confirm continuity of supply and keep the answer. What you can do instead of accepting anybody's estimate is measure your own, which takes a pen: write the fill date on masking tape, record the intensity setting, the timer schedule and the room's cubic volume on a card taped inside the cupboard, change none of them, and note the date it empties. Two fills and you have a figure that is true of your building, which is worth more than a published average of buildings that are not yours. If a supplier quotes you millilitres per month, ask which showroom they metered - they have either measured yours or made it up. Hardware is settled and simple: ₹11,999, one machine, oil included, or ₹1,899 for a Sukoon under about 750 sq ft. And the standing limit: none of this covers another smell - not laminate, not adhesive, not cooking. Ask for a retail scenting plan and we will put the answerable parts in writing.
Nobody can tell you honestly, because it has not been measured. It moves with intensity, run hours, cubic volume and door traffic. The one real figure is that the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill. Measure your own with masking tape, and confirm continuing supply with SOSA in writing.
One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, supplied with 4 × 100ml running 90+ days a fill, with adjustable intensity and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers - the two controls that decide how fast you get through it. No cold-air refill is sold separately yet, so confirm continuity with SOSA before you plan around it.

The four variables that make the number local

Three cards, four variables, and a clear view of why an average would be useless to you even if somebody had troubled to calculate one.

1
The two controls on the machine
Intensity and run hours are yours to set, and they move consumption most
The dial and the timer are the two variables you own, and they are the reason two identical showrooms on the same street can be nowhere near each other. A kitchen showroom should sit low - lower than almost any other retail category, because customers are seated through a sixty to ninety minute consultation and exposure compounds - and low costs less by definition. The timer decides the rest: a ten-hour trading schedule is not a fourteen-hour one, and a showroom that takes the machine off entirely on cooking-demonstration days is a third case again. Set both for the room rather than for the budget, then let them tell you what your consumption is instead of guessing at it first.
Tip: If you change the setting halfway through a tank, you have lost that measurement. Change one thing at a time.
SOSA Vaayu
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

2
The two facts about the building
Cubic volume and door traffic, neither of which a supplier can guess from a photograph
A showroom is a volume, not a floor area, and kitchen experience centres are the worst offenders for double-height space that quietly holds twice the air the plan suggests. Then there is exchange: a glass frontage on a main road opening every few minutes is a room whose air is being replaced constantly, while a sealed first-floor studio on central AC is not. Both push consumption, and neither is visible in a square-foot figure. This is why the sizing conversation in this cluster is always in cubic metres - and it is also why a national supplier quoting one monthly consumption figure across their whole customer base is quoting an average of rooms that have nothing in common.
Tip: Length by width by ceiling height, in metres, before anybody quotes you anything.
SOSA Vaayu
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

3
What is published, and what is not
400ml runs 90+ days a fill - and there is no separate refill SKU today
Here is the whole of the published position, stated plainly so you can quote it back to anybody. The Vaayu ships with 4 × 100ml; the 400ml tank runs 90+ days a fill; monthly consumption has not been measured or published; and no cold-air refill oil is sold separately today. The water-based Hotel Collection at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 is ultrasonic only and is never a Vaayu refill, so it does not close the gap. If you are planning anything beyond a single showroom, get continuity of supply confirmed by SOSA in writing before you order, and treat that email as part of the purchase rather than as a formality.

The SOSA principle
A number does not come into existence because a buyer needs one. Monthly oil consumption has four live variables and no measurement behind it, so the honest thing to publish is the explanation - and an explanation you can act on beats a figure you cannot audit.
The figure that would genuinely help you is the one your own machine writes on a strip of masking tape.
SOSA Vaayu
What is actually in the box: SOSA Vaayu ships with 4 × 100ml, and that 400ml runs 90+ days a fill. ₹11,999.

How to measure your own, properly

This takes a pen, a strip of masking tape and the discipline not to fiddle with the settings. Two fills and you will know more about your showroom than any supplier could have told you.

The SOSA plan
Getting a consumption figure that is actually true of your building
The step What to do
SOSA VaayuFix the settings first
Set the intensity for the ninetieth minute of a consultation, set the timer to trading hours, and key-lock it. If somebody changes either mid-tank, the measurement is void.
Write the card
Tape a card inside the cupboard with the fill date, the intensity setting, the timer schedule, the cubic volume of the room and whether demo days are taken off.
Note the empty date
Not the day somebody noticed - the day it actually stopped. That single pair of dates is the measurement everybody else is guessing at.
Do it twice
One tank is an anecdote. Two consecutive tanks at the same settings is a figure you can plan a year against, and it is yours rather than an average of strangers' showrooms.
Then confirm supply, in writing
Before you rely on that figure, ask SOSA to confirm continuity of cold-air oil supply, because no refill is sold separately today and a plan needs something to buy.
SOSA Mountain Breeze reed diffuserIf you would rather not measure at all
Under about 300 sq ft, a Mountain Breeze reed publishes both ends - price and duration - so the sum is already done for you.

The other half of this budget, including the electricity arithmetic in full, is in what it costs per month to keep a showroom fragranced. And if this gap matters to you because you are planning more than one site, read whether a kitchen brand can create one signature for its entire dealer network, where the supply question becomes the whole decision rather than a footnote. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel.

The SOSA kitchen-showroom specification

Two products answer this question in opposite ways: one publishes its consumption at both ends, and one has a gap I would rather show you than hide. Treat any monthly millilitre figure you are quoted as a claim that needs a source. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or display styling; it is never used to cover another smell - not laminate, not adhesive, not cooking - and continuity of cold-air refill supply, AMC, warranty, installation, bulk pricing, minimum order, GST and corporate invoicing are all unpublished and must be confirmed with SOSA in writing. And plainly: SOSA does not publish a business-outcome number because it has not measured one, and a supplier quoting you a figure is selling. Ask for a retail scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal

There is a version of this page that exists on a lot of supplier websites, and it has a confident number near the top. I have read several of them and I could not tell you where any of those numbers came from, which is precisely the problem. Somebody asked, the page needed an answer, and an answer appeared. Then it got copied. I would rather publish the empty space and tell you honestly what is in it, because you are going to plan a business around this and I am not willing to be the source of a figure I made up.

What makes it genuinely unmeasurable from here, rather than merely inconvenient, is that four things move it and all four belong to your building. Where you set the intensity, how many hours the timer runs, how many cubic metres of air the room holds, and how often the doors let that air out. A double-height experience centre on a busy main road and a sealed first-floor studio are not the same machine even when they are the same machine. An average across those would be a number that describes nobody.

So here is what I can give you. The Vaayu is ₹11,999 and ships with 4 × 100ml; that 400ml runs 90+ days a fill; there is no cold-air refill sold separately today, so ask us in writing about continuity of supply before you plan; and the Hotel Collection oils are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill. Then measure your own with a strip of masking tape and two fills, and if you send me what it says I will be genuinely glad to have it. If you would rather have published numbers from the start, a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 states both its price and its duration. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How much fragrance oil will my modular kitchen showroom use every month?
Nobody can tell you honestly, and SOSA will not pretend to. Monthly consumption has not been measured, and it moves with the intensity setting, the daily run hours, the cubic volume of the room and how often the doors open - four things that differ in every building. The only figure that can be given is that the 400ml supplied with the Vaayu runs 90 days or more a fill. A supplier quoting millilitres per month has either metered your showroom or invented it.
Can you not estimate it from the tank size?
No, and it matters that I do not. The published figure is that 400ml runs 90 days or more a fill, and the plus in that sentence is doing real work - a machine held low in a modest volume on a ten-hour timer goes considerably further than one running hard in a double-height experience centre. Dividing a tank by a number of days produces arithmetic rather than data, and once printed it gets treated as a measurement.
What is actually published about the oil?
Four things. The Vaayu ships with 4 by 100ml. That 400ml tank runs 90 days or more a fill. Monthly consumption has not been measured or published. And no cold-air refill oil is sold separately today, so the 400ml supplied is the entire supply as things stand. The water-based Hotel Collection oils are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill, so they do not close that gap.
How do I get a figure for my own showroom?
Measure it, which costs a pen and a strip of masking tape. Set the intensity and the timer, key-lock them, and tape a card inside the cupboard with the fill date, the settings, the cubic volume of the room and whether the machine comes off on demonstration days. Note the date it actually empties, then do it again. Two consecutive tanks at unchanged settings give you a figure that is true of your building rather than of somebody else's.
Should this stop me buying a machine?
It should stop you committing to several without an answer in writing. For a single showroom the machine ships with 400ml running 90 days or more a fill, so you have a season before the question becomes urgent. For a rollout it is a genuine blocker, and the email to send asks SOSA to confirm continuity of cold-air oil supply, along with warranty, AMC, installation and bulk pricing, none of which are published either.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the planning advice applies to any brand.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
