Should each bedroom have its own machine? No. It is the most expensive mistake in this category. A bedroom is a small volume with long dwell time, and a reed at Rs 749 serves it better than a powered unit.
What is the usual total? One machine and four to six reeds for a typical 1,500 sq ft home: bathrooms, bedrooms and the entrance on reeds, the living area on the machine.
One, usually. Machine-per-room is the expensive mistake
This question almost always produces an answer of one, and the reason people expect a larger number is a counting error rather than a judgement error. They are counting rooms. Machines are counted per connected volume, and those are very different quantities in an Indian home. A connected volume is a body of air that is genuinely joined together, with no closed door between its parts. In a 1,500 square foot flat or row house, walk through at a normal hour and observe which internal doors are shut. The bedrooms will be shut, for privacy and because that is how air conditioning gets used. The bathrooms will be shut. The kitchen should have its door shut while cooking and should never be scented at any time, since cooking smell is aerosolised oil that requires extraction rather than competition. What is left connected is the living area, the dining area if it shares the space, and a passage. That is one volume, and it is the only thing you are buying a machine for. Hence: one machine. The scale of that machine should match the volume rather than the address, and at this size that means a Sukoon at Rs 1,799 for a compact core or a Megh at Rs 3,499 with its 6L tank for a larger one, remembering that a tank is a recurring job that gets refilled every few days and rinsed between scents. There is exactly one circumstance that justifies a second unit, and it is not size. It is shape. If the connected volume is L-shaped, long and narrow, or has a dining leg running off at an angle, a single point source produces a strong pocket near itself and nothing at the far end, and raising the output strengthens the pocket without reaching the corner. That is geometry rather than capacity. The fix is a second modest point placed apart from the first, in the same way a long room is lit with two lamps rather than one bright bulb. And the second point does not have to be a machine at all: a reed diffuser at the far end of a dining leg costs a few hundred rupees, needs nothing done to it for months, and evens out the plan completely. Now the mistake this page exists to prevent, which is buying a machine per bedroom. It is the most expensive error available in this category, and what makes it worth arguing against is that it is wrong on its own terms rather than merely extravagant. A bedroom is a small volume with a very long dwell time. Somebody in it has adapted within an hour and is perceiving essentially nothing of whatever is in the air for the rest of the night, so the ambient level is doing no work at all while continuing to be produced. More importantly, a bedroom is a room somebody cannot leave. Anybody sleeping in a space they did not choose the register for should have the lightest presence in the house and a source they can physically move, cap or set aside without asking anybody's permission. A powered unit on a schedule is precisely the wrong object for that, and an app-controlled one is worse, because it puts the off switch in another person's pocket. A reed diffuser at Rs 749 to Rs 849 is the correct product: it can be moved to a corridor, capped, or taken out of the room entirely by whoever is sleeping there. The same logic makes bathrooms a reed job rather than a machine job, and bathrooms happen to be the highest return per rupee available anywhere in home fragrance, since they are small enough for one source to work evenly, sit behind doors no machine can serve, and are the room visitors notice most. So the typical bill of materials for a 1,500 square foot home is one machine and four to six bottles: a reed in each bathroom, a reed in each bedroom at the lightest level, one just inside the entrance because arrival is the only moment anybody perceives their own home, and one machine or one more reed for the connected living volume. Children's rooms get no fragrance at all. Covered balconies get nothing either, because they cannot hold it. And none of it substitutes for extraction over the hob used every time, or for a mug of water down the drains of a bathroom nobody uses.
The count, room by room
The count, room by room. The connected living volume, which is the only place a machine belongs: the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799 for a compact core, or the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank for a larger one. A second modest point only if that volume is L-shaped, long or angled, placed apart from the first, and it can simply be a reed at the far end. Every bathroom, the highest return per rupee in home fragrance: a reed diffuser - Morning Freshness at Rs 749, Garden Bloom at Rs 799, Evening Calm at Rs 799, Fresh Brew at Rs 849, Mountain Breeze at Rs 849 - three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml. Every bedroom, at the lightest level in the house and from a source the occupant can move, cap or take out of the room without asking anybody: a reed, never a machine and never an app-controlled one. Just inside the entrance, because arrival is the only moment anybody perceives their own home: a reed or the SOSA Boond at Rs 799. Typical total for 1,500 sq ft: one machine and four to six bottles. Not this home: the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999, rated for up to 1,000 m² of connected air, roughly 10,700 square feet. Fragrance for machines: Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, at three to six drops per tank, rinsing between scents. Reed oil and Hotel Collection are two different systems and are not interchangeable. Nothing at all in children's rooms, the kitchen at any time, the dining area, or covered balconies, which cannot hold fragrance. And none of it substitutes for extraction over the hob used every single time, or a mug of water down the drains of a bathroom nobody uses. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.

| Bathrooms · from ₹749 | A reed each. Best value anywhere in home fragrance |
| Bedrooms · from ₹749 | A reed, at the lightest level, movable by the occupant |
| Children's rooms | Nothing at all. Covered balconies, nothing either |
The shape argument is in the 1,500 sq ft chapter, the reed comparison is in the reed chapter, and the selector is in the selector chapter. Everything gathers in the size guide.

Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
