How Do I Scent an Appliance Showroom Designed Like Multiple Real Kitchens?

With one source, and I want to be firm about that number because every instinct on a floor of separate kitchens pushes the other way. The owner sees six or eight rooms - a walnut kitchen, a white handleless one, a graphite one with brass, each with its own back wall, its own returns, often its own bulkhead and its own ceiling treatment - and reasons that six rooms need six sources. To the eye that is obvious. To the air it is wrong, because the air does not see rooms. It sees one connected volume with a set of obstacles standing in it, and the obstacles are what decide everything. So here is the whole answer in one line: one scent, one level, one source, mounted high enough to clear the partitions and placed where the AC will carry it across every set. Take the pieces in turn. One scent, because a visitor walks from kitchen to kitchen in a few seconds and two fragrances in one air make a third that nobody chose; whether different display zones should have different fragrances argues that through and the answer is no. One level, set for the advisor who stands on the floor nine hours a day, judged at the specification table at five in the afternoon, and held there with a key-lock - because on a floor with many hands levels only ever drift upward. And one source, which is the part that needs explaining. A display kitchen is a small three-sided room. Put a source inside it and it fills in minutes; the fragrance pools against the back wall, bounces off the quartz and the lacquer, and barely escapes past the returns into the corridor. The next kitchen along receives almost nothing. Put a second source there and now two small rooms are over-scented while the corridor between them is thin; the visitor walking the row meets a wall of fragrance, then nothing, then a wall again, and the floor reads as inconsistent, which is worse than unscented. The partitions are the problem, and the fix for partitions is height, not multiplication. Mount the source high on the reception wall - above the line of the tall units, the bulkheads and the partition tops - on the wall the AC supply crosses, and the fragrance travels over the kitchens rather than into them. Each set then receives a trace from above as the AC circulates, and every kitchen on the floor smells of the same thing at roughly the same low level. The register is the family's: cedar, sage, dry pine and light woods, or lemon and mint if most of the sets are white - Mountain Breeze and Morning Freshness - held low because every surface is hard, and with nothing edible because at least one of those kitchens is a working one and the hob will be lit; what a built-in kitchen showroom should smell like sets that standard. Now the machine, and this is where the mount matters more than the coverage.
