What stays fixed across every layout? The fragrance itself - Morning Freshness (₹749) or Mountain Breeze (₹849) - and the placement principle: source at reception and the corridor, never in the treatment room by default.
What changes by layout? The equipment. Under 300 sq ft, one reed. 300-750 sq ft, reeds or a SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899). 1,500-3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999).
Does matching air volume improve results? No outcome claim is made - this is a specification method, not a performance promise.
Here is why the flat rule fails. A single reed diffuser placed correctly can genuinely be the whole answer for a 300 sq ft clinic with one reception and one treatment room. Give a 1,800 sq ft flagship location with a proper waiting area, a long corridor and four treatment rooms the identical single reed, and it will barely register past reception - not because the fragrance is wrong, but because the volume of air it has to cover is six times larger. “One diffuser” was never really the plan; it was a rule that happened to work at one size and quietly failed everywhere else.
The unit that actually travels between layouts is connected air volume, roughly approximated by square footage of patient-facing space, combined with a placement rule. This cluster's general sizing ladder is the starting point for every location: under 300 sq ft, one reed diffuser at reception; 300-750 sq ft, reeds through the patient-facing zone or one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 if control matters; 1,500-3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, correctly specified; above 3,000 sq ft of connected air, one SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999 rather than several smaller machines. Apply that ladder separately to each clinic's actual floor plan, and the flat “one diffuser” rule disappears on its own - some locations genuinely need one unit, others need more or a bigger one, and the ladder tells you which without guesswork.
Placement is the second half of the specification, and it travels across layouts more directly than equipment does. Whatever the size, the principle is the same: source the fragrance at reception and the corridor - the pause points where people arrive and wait - and let the treatment room inherit a trace through the door rather than scenting it directly. A 300 sq ft clinic and an 1,800 sq ft one apply this identically; what differs is how many source points a larger, more spread-out layout needs to keep the corridor consistently carrying the fragrance from end to end.
The fragrance itself is the one variable that should never move between locations - Morning Freshness (Malabar lemon, peppermint and eucalyptus, ₹749 for 50ml, ₹1,249 for 130ml) or Mountain Breeze (Himalayan pine, sage, Indian cedar, ₹849 and ₹1,349) at every clinic, regardless of size. What is being reproduced is the scent; what is being specified separately, per site, is everything needed to deliver it at a comparable perceived strength.
None of this is a claim about outcomes across locations. SOSA makes no claim that reproducing a signature scent across clinics affects bookings, retention, referrals or spend at any location. It is a specification method for consistency, not a performance promise. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and send us the floor plans for each location rather than assuming one diffuser count fits all.
What the sizing ladder actually specifies
The same two products anchor the small end of the ladder at every location - the difference between sites is which rung of the ladder they land on, not which fragrance runs.
Why 'one diffuser per clinic' fails as a spec
Three reasons the flat rule breaks down, and what replaces it at each step.
Two worked examples, side by side
Two realistic layouts, run through the identical fragrance and the identical sizing method, ending in different equipment.
| Layout | Connected air volume | Placement rule |
|---|---|---|
| Small satellite clinic | ~400 sq ft, one reception, one treatment room | One reed at reception; treatment room inherits a trace |
| Mid-size clinic | ~700 sq ft, reception plus two treatment rooms | Reeds through the patient-facing zone, or one Sukoon for control |
| Larger flagship clinic | ~1,800 sq ft, waiting area, corridor, three rooms | One Vaayu, wall or HVAC mounted, covering reception and corridor |
| Very large flagship or hub clinic | Above 3,000 sq ft of connected air | One Angaan rather than several Vaayus in one connected volume |
| Any layout, wrongly specified by room count alone | Unknown - room count does not reveal it | Guesswork - the most common source of an under- or over-scented branch |
The brand-level case for matching branches at all is set out in should multiple branches use the same fragrance, the combined osteopathy, physio and rehab version of this sizing exercise is covered in building a consistent identity across osteopathy, physio and rehab, and the general single-clinic sizing ladder this method is built on is explained in what should a premium osteopathy clinic smell like. SOSA makes no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend.

A group opening its fourth branch once sent us a straightforward request: the same diffuser as the other three, please. When we asked for the floor plan, it turned out the new location was nearly triple the size of the others - open-plan, with a long reception corridor none of the previous sites had. The identical single reed that worked perfectly at the smaller branches would have been barely noticeable at the new one.
We kept the fragrance identical - Mountain Breeze at ₹849 - and specified a Vaayu for the new location instead of a fourth reed. The scent matched every other branch exactly; only the equipment reflected the actual room.
And the honesty that runs through this whole cluster: we make no health, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, and no claim that any of this affects bookings, retention, referrals or spend. Sizing correctly is a specification discipline, not a performance lever. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free, phthalate-free and paraben-free compositions on a heat-stable coconut-derived base, supplied in a refillable glass bottle with six fibre reeds, flipped weekly, with 50ml lasting 6-8 weeks and 130ml lasting 14-18 weeks, tested at 45°C and 85% relative humidity - Morning Freshness ₹749 / ₹1,249, Mountain Breeze ₹849 / ₹1,349. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering about 270-320 sq ft for 16-18 hours on the low setting and supplied with three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances; being ultrasonic, it works by aerosolising water and therefore adds some moisture to the air. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - which are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment; refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir and operation under 42dB. SOSA products are not medical devices and no health, therapeutic or wellbeing claim is made or implied anywhere in this guide; ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision that works alongside cleaning, laundry, ventilation and hygiene protocol and is never a substitute for any of them. SOSA makes no claim that reproducing a signature scent across locations affects bookings, retention, referrals or spend. Infection control, linen protocol and HVAC standards are matters for the practitioner and the facilities engineer at each site. Fragrance sensitivity is real: staff should be able to switch any system off in seconds, and no SOSA product is described as hypoallergenic or as safe for sensitive individuals. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
