Why a reed needs no power at all
A reed diffuser is beautifully simple. The reeds are porous, so they wick the fragrance oil up from the bottle by capillary action, and the oil evaporates off the exposed ends into the air. Keep it off the shower spray. Water on the reeds displaces the oil. Keep the diffuser out of the direct line of the shower so the reeds stay saturated with fragrance, not water.
One honest thing to keep clear: a reed freshens and layers a pleasant scent across a clean, aired bathroom. It does not purify the air or remove the source of a bad smell. Steam and humidity will also slow how fast the oil evaporates, so a very steamy bathroom reads a little softer than a dry room - that is physics, not a fault. Clean and ventilate first, then let the reed do the pleasant part, with no electricity involved.
