Why does the stairwell matter? Because it behaves as a chimney, carrying the ground floor register upward continuously, which means different scents on different floors will meet and produce a third nobody chose.
Does the villa need more bottles than the flat? No. The door count is the same, so eight to ten bottles serve either. The difference is entirely in the machine question.
What the villa adds that the flat did not have
A 4BHK villa and a 4BHK flat share a door count, and that means they share the larger half of the answer: eight to ten reed diffusers for the bedrooms, bathrooms, a study and the entrance, since every one of those is a sealed volume no machine crosses. What the villa adds is two things the flat does not have, and both change the plan. The first addition is a ground plane that may be genuinely one connected volume. In a flat, the connected space is a hall, and adding bedrooms did not enlarge it. In a villa it can be materially different: a living area that runs into a dining hall with no door between them, a passage that is part of the same space rather than a corridor, and a stairwell that opens off it rather than being closed behind a door. When a house is arranged that way, the lower floor is one large body of circulating air, and that is the single architecture in which the largest machine does something no arrangement of bottles matches - serving all of it from one point, with one fragrance to buy, one schedule to set and nothing to fill before an evening or empty afterwards. It is worth testing rather than assuming, because plans and lived reality often differ. Walk the ground floor at an ordinary hour of an ordinary day, changing nothing about how the house currently operates, and count the closed doors between the living area, the dining area, the passage and the foot of the stairs. Zero closed doors qualifies the Vaayu at Rs 11,999. One usually indicates a partly open plan, where a Megh at Rs 3,499 with its 6L tank is the sensible unit. Two or more means the villa is compartmented, and a compartmented villa disqualifies itself exactly as a compartmented flat does, because a closed door is a hard boundary regardless of what the building is called. In that house, ten bottles beat any machine and that is the honest recommendation. It is also worth being clear about what the money buys if it does qualify. A 4BHK villa is well under the machine's rating - the coverage figure is quoted in square metres and 1,000 square metres is roughly 10,700 square feet - so most of the rating goes unused and always will. What is worth the price is one device instead of six or eight, waterless operation with nothing to fill or empty, and a saved schedule that puts the level at arrival rather than maintaining it all day for people who have adapted and cannot perceive it. The second addition is the stairwell, and it behaves as a chimney: warm air rises through it continuously, all day, carrying whatever the ground floor holds upward. This has two practical consequences that people usually get backwards. The first is that it argues strongly for one register throughout the house. Because air moves between the floors constantly, two different scents on two floors will meet somewhere in that column and produce a third that nobody selected and that is usually muddier than either. So choose one register, use it in every machine and every bottle in the house, and vary only the intensity - lightest in bedrooms, a little more at the entrance, nothing in the kitchen or at the table. The second consequence is that the stairwell is not a delivery system. Because an upper landing often already smells faintly of the ground floor, it is tempting to treat the ground floor unit as the source for both levels and simply raise it. That does not work. The increase overwhelmingly stays on the ground floor, where you are standing and where everybody has adapted within the hour, so the lower level becomes heavier than anybody would have chosen while the landing gains very little. Give the upper level its own source, sized to what it actually is: a Sukoon at Rs 1,799 if there is a family area where people genuinely sit, or simply a reed if it is a landing people pass through on the way to bedrooms. Two constants. The kitchen gets nothing at any time, and in a villa extraction matters more rather than less, because cooking smell travels further and settles into soft furnishings on both floors. And covered terraces, balconies and verandahs - which villas usually have several of - cannot hold fragrance at all, because the air exchanges continuously with the outside.
The two additions
The two additions. Unchanged from a flat, eight to ten bottles: a reed diffuser in every bathroom, one in every bedroom at the lightest level in the home from a source the occupant can move, cap or remove without asking anybody, one in a study, and one just inside the entrance - Morning Freshness at Rs 749, Garden Bloom at Rs 799, Evening Calm at Rs 799, Fresh Brew at Rs 849, Mountain Breeze at Rs 849, three to four months per bottle, refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml, or the SOSA Boond at Rs 799 at the door. Addition one, the connected ground plane, tested with a closed-door walk at an ordinary hour: zero closed doors between living, dining, passage and stair qualifies the SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 - waterless with no tank to fill or empty, coverage up to 1,000 m², Bluetooth app and timer control, run on one or two longer cycles anchored to arrivals. One closed door means a partly open plan and the SOSA Megh at Rs 3,499 with a 6L tank. Two or more means compartmented, where no machine qualifies and ten bottles beat any device. Addition two, the stairwell: keep one register in every machine and every bottle in the house, varying only the intensity, since two scents on two floors meet in the column and produce a third nobody chose. Give the upper level its own source rather than raising the ground floor - the SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,799 if there is a family area where people genuinely sit, or a reed if it is a landing people pass through. Fragrance for machines: Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, at three to six drops per tank, rinsing between scents; it is a water-based fragrance for ultrasonic diffusers, is not reed diffuser oil, and the two are not interchangeable. Mattering more in a villa than in a flat: extraction over the hob used every single time with the kitchen door shut, since cooking smell travels further and settles into soft furnishings on both floors. Never scented: children's rooms, the kitchen at any time, the dining area during a meal, and covered terraces, balconies and verandahs. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards.

Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
