2. Counting rooms returns five or six machines, and I would argue against it here. Five Sukoons is ₹9,495 and six is ₹11,394, with fifteen and eighteen 15ml Hotel Collection bottles included. The arithmetic is sound. The chore is not: five tanks to empty, rinse and refill on the same morning every week is the point at which most households quietly stop.
3. The two machines are different technologies rather than two sizes. The Sukoon is a 2.4MHz ultrasonic unit making cool mist from a 500ml water tank, covering 270–320 sq ft, with duration timers that cannot start it. The Vaayu is a waterless cold-air nebuliser running undiluted oil, rated for up to 1000m³ of connected space, adding no humidity, under 38dB, with a Bluetooth app and genuine scheduling.
4. Neither of them opens a door. A nebuliser rated for 1000m³ will not scent a shut bedroom any more than an ultrasonic machine will, which is exactly why the answer is both rather than either. One Vaayu alone in a 4BHK is a beautifully scented living room and four unchanged bedrooms.

Why a 4BHK is five or six air masses, not 2,400 square feet
Every wrong answer at this size starts by reasoning with the total. People take 2,400 sq ft, divide it by a coverage figure printed on a box and arrive at a number that would be right if the flat were a warehouse. A 4BHK is the least connected home most Indians will ever live in — five or six sealed volumes joined by doors that are shut for the hours that matter — and one of those volumes has grown large enough that no ultrasonic machine was designed for it. Those two facts together are why this home wants two kinds of machine rather than more of one.

Why the hybrid is the recommendation
The case for splitting the flat between two machines is not that the expensive one is better. It is that the two halves of a 4BHK are genuinely different problems and each machine is good at one of them. The common areas are a single connected volume of 450–700 sq ft that runs into the entrance and the corridor, that nobody closes a door on, that wants scenting from before people are home until late in the evening, and that nobody wants to think about. That is a description of what a waterless cold-air nebuliser does: rated for up to 1000m³ of connected space, no tank at all, no weekly rinse, no humidity added to a flat that may already have plenty of it in monsoon, under 38dB, and a Bluetooth app with genuine scheduling so the volume is already scented at six in the evening whether or not anybody has walked in. The bedrooms are the opposite in every respect: small enough that a 270–320 sq ft machine is working on its lowest setting, closed for the hours that matter, and — this is the part that decides it — belonging to different people who want different things. What the difference buys is specific and worth naming honestly. It buys the right machine for the one room that defeats an ultrasonic unit, rather than a machine standing in it doing about half the job. It buys the removal of two weekly tanks from the two spaces that run longest, which is where most of the labour actually sits. It buys scheduling in the only part of the home where scheduling matters, since a Sukoon's steady, 2H and 4H timers are duration timers rather than a clock — you press 4H when you get home and it stops four hours later, and it cannot start itself, because it has no idea what six in the evening is. And it buys no added humidity in the largest space, which is a real consideration in Mumbai, Chennai or Kochi in the rains and an irrelevance in Delhi in April. If none of those four things describes a problem you actually have, buy four Sukoons at ₹7,596, put them in the bedrooms and leave the common areas to the doors standing open. That is a good 4BHK and I have no interest in talking you past it.
The last thing is staging, which is unusually clean here and takes the pressure off the total. Nothing you buy first is superseded by anything that comes later: the second, third and fourth Sukoon are the identical machine at the identical ₹1,899, every 15ml, 100ml and 300ml bottle fits every ultrasonic tank in the flat, and a 300ml 300ml refill at ₹1,799 bought today serves a machine you have not bought yet at roughly ₹6 per ml against about ₹20 per ml in 15ml bottles. So the order that works is bedrooms first, common areas later. Four Sukoons at ₹7,596 in month one gives every person in the house a room that smells like something they chose, which is the part of this that people notice daily. The Vaayu joins it when the budget allows, and the flat becomes ₹19,595 without a single earlier purchase becoming redundant. What I would avoid on the way is the fifth and sixth Sukoon, because that is the money that would otherwise become the right machine for the common areas — and the Megh at ₹3,499, which is a genuinely good 6-litre unit whose large tank solves refill frequency in one big space and still occupies exactly one room. In a five-door home the question is never how big the tank is. It is how many separate volumes you are trying to serve.

The 4BHK is where I stopped being able to answer this question with a number, and it took me longer than it should have to admit it. For every smaller home the method is the same — count the doors you close and then live behind, buy that many machines, spread the fragrances. Run that method on a 4BHK and it says five or six, and the households who did exactly that are the ones who wrote to me a year later saying they now refill two of them.
So the recommendation here is a split rather than a count: the connected half of the flat on one waterless machine, the bedrooms on one Sukoon each. ₹19,595 for the full version and ₹15,797 for the two-bedroom one, and I would rather you started with the bedrooms at ₹7,596 and added the Vaayu next year than bought five tanks this week. Where I will happily talk you out of something is the sixth Sukoon. It is the same excellent machine, it will do its room properly, and it is also the purchase that turns a habit into a chore — and a home fragrance habit that has become a chore is a home that smells of nothing by the end of the year.
