I want to be precise about this, because "she loves her home, so buy her something for the home" sounds like sound reasoning and is in fact the exact inversion of it. Loving a home is a curatorial activity. It means having opinions, and having opinions means having rejected things. When an object really is the better gift — and when to skip the category entirely
I would be selling you something rather than advising you if I did not say this plainly. There is a version of this recipient for whom a decorative object is the correct gift, and it is the version you actually know well. If you have been inside the room, if she has named the thing out loud, if she has sent you a photograph of it, or if she collects something specific and you have found a good example of it, then buy the object.
