Which ultrasonic diffuser should I pair it with? Any SOSA diffuser: Boond (₹799) for a desk, Sukoon (₹1799) for a bedroom, Megh (₹3499) for a living room. All are cool-mist and made to run the water-based Hotel Collection.
Why not use my own premium perfume in it? Because perfume and raw oils are thick or solvent-heavy and clog the ultrasonic misting plate. The premium result comes from a fragrance designed for the machine, not from decanting an EDP into the tank.
The fragrance is the luxury, not the gadget
People shop for a diffuser by looking at the machine - the light, the tank, the shape. But an ultrasonic diffuser is just a mister; it has no scent of its own. What you smell is entirely the fragrance you put in. A beautiful machine running a thin, synthetic scent smells cheap, and no amount of LED colour fixes that.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles, and I compose the Hotel Collection the way I would a fine perfume - just built to bloom in a room rather than on skin. Quiet Luxury opens on white tea and bergamot and settles into cedar. Old-World Glamour is amber, violet and woods. These are layered scents that unfold as they fill the room, which is what makes a home smell expensive rather than air-freshened.
A diffuser has no smell of its own. Every rupee of luxury in the experience comes from the fragrance - so that is where the perfumer's work should go.
Why fragrance and machine must be made for each other
The second half of premium is fit. The Hotel Collection is water-based and phthalate-free, formulated to ride the cool mist and disperse evenly. That is not a small detail - it is the difference between a clean, even scent and a clogged, spitting machine. This is also why I ask you not to decant your favourite EDP or a raw essential oil into the tank: they are thick or solvent-heavy and will foul the misting plate.
| What you put in | Result |
|---|---|
| SOSA water-based Hotel Collection | Clean even mist, layered scent, plate stays healthy |
| Raw essential / carrier oil | Thick, can clog the misting plate and damage the unit |
| Decanted perfume / EDP | Solvent-heavy, not made for the mist, risks the plate |
"A more expensive diffuser smells better." It does not, on its own. A pricier machine may be quieter or larger, but the smell comes entirely from the fragrance. Spend on a well-composed, water-based fragrance and even the ₹799 Boond will scent a room beautifully."
So pair any SOSA diffuser with the Hotel Collection and you have a system where both halves were made together. Each diffuser ships with three fragrances; refills in 300ml are the best value for daily diffusing. That is what premium means here - not a luxury gadget, but a perfumer's fragrance in a machine built to carry it.

Versailles
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, but half the questions we get are not about scent at all - they are about the machine. Indian rooms are bone-dry from AC and winter, and most gadget diffusers are too small, too loud, or quit by midnight. So we made three: Boond (300ml, desk), Sukoon (500ml, bedroom, with a remote and mood light) and Megh (6L, whole-room), each shipping with three of our fragrances.
They are cool-mist ultrasonic diffusers - an ultrasonic plate turns water into a fine, cool mist with no heating element, so there is no boiling water or burn risk, and each has an auto shut-off when the tank runs dry.
One thing I say on every listing and will say here: use only SOSA's water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. Raw essential oils, perfumes and carrier oils are thick or solvent-heavy and can clog the misting plate and damage the unit. A few drops of our water-based fragrance in the tank mists cleanly and scents the whole room.
