Why two rooms is the floor, and why the fifth bottle is worth less than the second

The reason two is the threshold has nothing to do with generosity and everything to do with how a house is experienced. Fragrance does not pass a closed door, and it is heavily diluted crossing an open one — so a flat with five closed doors is five separate air spaces, and one bottle can only ever be in one of them.
